Last year, a woman of negotiable virtue ratted out a Columbus cop who had paid her for sex. He has admitted his sin, pleaded no contest, and will likely be sentenced to… John School.
Yes, John School, where the motto is “Semper Infidelis,” the staff lounge is the back seat, tuition is paid by the hour with a discount for all night and the team is called the Rampaging Phalluses. Competition to be team mascot is FIERCE, the bookstore can’t keep condoms in stock, prom is held at a strip club, and field trips have no chaperones at all!
Victims of human trafficking get to go to jail; the rarely-caught end users get sent to this diversion program. And cops – some of whom demand sex from detainees in order to let them go – well, they go to the Head of the Class. Check CraigsList for your syllabus.

Captain Renault in “Casablanca” extorted sex from women who wanted exit visas, and he’s supposed to be a charming rogue. The cop in “To Wong Foo…” apparently made a practice of extorting sex from women he pulled over, and it seems to be enough that he be publicly embarrassed (and not for that).
Yeah, it’s okay if you’re a cop. Hey, at least he paid her!
1Who knew? Cops apparently have a bigger zipper problem than politicians. Those paid to “protect and serve” have a long tradition of raping citizens to convert them. Rape a street walker. Rape a black woman or man. Rape a lesbian or gay man. Rape a white woman. Rape, it solves crime. Didn’t you know?
If Reverend Niemöller were alive today, he’d have a reminder for all us straight white males: “you’re next.” Seriously. If we do not have reform of out of control PDs, say hello to the New Storm Troopers of the 21st century.

3“Head of the Class” in a story about prostitutes and their Johns? Really? :}
I don’t mean to paint the police with a broad brush, but people with sociopathic tendencies do seem to seek out positions of power so as to abuse the weak and vulnerable. Unfortunately there is often a code of silence regarding this behavior so misogyny flourishes.
4There are so many things I want to say . . . and they are all inappropriate for this setting. Besides, it’s been a long time since my mouth was washed out with soap, but I remember I didn’t really care for it.
5And some cops in Oklahoma ARE found guilty,and sentenced to prison. But,the info of what prison,and where,is kept hidden from the public.

7I have known officers down through the years who traded for sex with prostitutes. Unfortunately for all of us, these crimes, while usually felonies, were amongst the lesser felonies which the officers committed. By the time the DA reads through homicide, robbery, various assaults, burglaries and arsons to cover them up, unless a sex with prostitute case can be indicted as rape, the sex case falls through the sieve.
Geeze, Louise. I had some high school friends who became policemen. I know that most have their sources (can’t remember the term used) within the criminal element, some were women. But, being a woman I’ve never had any conversations about what sort of payment or give and take was entailed with this ‘sources’. I guess I never knew those policemen who would proposition and/or demand sex from a prostitute. Maybe I’m being naive. I’ve been rather well protected in that regard. It takes a special kind of person to be that creepy.
8Huh?
9Dr. David Gushee is a Southern Baptist liberal and professor of ethics and similar stuff at Mercer University. He writes a blog and today he posted his experience of driving while black. Dr. Gushee is white, but was riding with his friend and former student, a large black gentleman. It’s an eye opening account of how he experienced it.
