Well, it happened.

Thanks to Jose Altuve for a walk-off homer last night, my beloved Houston Astros will face BarbinDC’s adored Nationals in the World Series.  We’ve been secretly plotting this for years.

I will accept congratulations for the fact that nobody has to put up with Yankee fans this year.

Years ago, my Aunt Lillian, who I miss every day, had two friends who went to every Astros game with her.  They were all in their 70s. They dressed up in their polyester elastic waist pants and Astros tee shirts. They had Astros earrings, purses, and socks and called the team, “My Boys.”  They got big cups of beer, complained about the price, and hid pretzels from home in their purses. I miss her every day, but I think I’ve finally grown up to be her.  I’m real proud of that and I know she would be, too.
