Immigration Crisis will End Next Tuesday

October 31, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: 2018 Election, Border Catastrophe, Crazy GOP ads

The Caravan; mobilizing 5,200 federal troops to the border; executive order to end birthright citizenship.  Besides the “…gleeful cruelty and dickishness,” as Jon Stewart describes Trump’s behavior, these moves are simply pandering to the Knuckledragger GOP Base to drive them to the polls. This “crisis” is, yes, I’m going to say it, “Trumped up” by Trump doing the bidding of his enfant terrible aide, Stephen Miller, resident white supremacist.  It’s all nonsense, based on lies and exaggeration.  On November 7, all this will go back into the normal background noise, just like in 2014 when the Ebola outbreak in the US and ISIS fighters on the border ceased to exist on November 5, the day after election day.

After much consideration and contemplation, I have determined that the American electorate is stupid.  It has to be whipped up into a frenzy to just go to the neighborhood polling place to cast a vote.  Apparently, politicians have figured out that scared voters are active voters.

Stupid.

Be social and share!

El Jefe, it’s time to “trick or treat” the pumpkin colored pResident. The trick will be to RICO Act the costs of that “…gleeful cruelty and dickishness” out of Dotard45 and his maladministration. The treat will be Democratic control of both the House and Senate.

A small military revolt would be nice, too. Nothing big, just sweet cooperation with the Mexican government, a laying down of arms and a journey south to give comfort, solace and rides north to the asylum seekers. America like it should to be …

  2. El Jeffe: You have wasted a lot of mental energy on the obvious. The House of Representatives happens.

  5. This is Trump’s 7 Day War.
The only silver lining is that our troops won’t actually have to leave their own country.

Trump is the man who cried “woof,” as he alternately exhaled hard on his dog whistle.

  6. Remember how the ideologues at the supreme court threw out 200 years worth of legal opinions to pacify their corporate paymasters and reinterpet the 2nd amendment from a “communal” right that could be regulated by states to form a well orered militia to guns everywhere, drunk or crazy is no impedment to owning an arsenal. the heller case.
They then threw out 200 years of precedents to please thier paymasters with citizens united to put our elections up to the highest bidder be it corporate of foiegn money.
Oh and don’t forget upending 50 years of the Voting Rights act in Shelby county to feed more red meat to their toothless brainless supporters yearning to stop any of the “others” from voting by any method fair or foul.
So why are we so confident that the mob of miscreants with a majority of the stupid, immoral and unethical nutcases on the supreme court will defend birth right citizenship or just “redefine” it into oblivion?
From gangbang brett to uncle clarence to corporate gorsuch does anyone seriously expect these people to do anything but what their political bosses tell them to do?
Law, amendments and precedents be damned when a political wedge is needed.

That’s why Bernstein’s book about the Orange Bastard is titled, “Fear.”

  9. Here’s a link and partial text to the actual DoD Memo (below) outlining the military units involved and their deployment.
It looks to me like very few will actually be stationed in the Valley near the actual border (my former home area).

The only Valley location listed is the Harlingen NOSC.
Local San Antonio TV media has been reporting that these troops have been coming into Ft. Sam Houston and Lackland. Key words are “operating area”.
I think that they will just be getting a little ‘vacation’ billeting hereabouts on the San Antonio and Corpus Christi bases for a few weeks.
The Harlingen NOSC used to just be a Reserve unit (weekend warriors, all branches) meeting and training office; IIRC, it was in a downtown Harlingen building.

And as El Jefe wrote, it’s all just an elaborate and very expensive Trumpian PR move to try and gin up his MAGAoty base voters. Better those feeble-minded old chitheads just got ginned up on some Wild Turkey.

From an article in today’s Valley Morning Star (Harlingen):

    https://www.valleymorningstar.com/news/local_news/dod-internal-memo/pdf_2d443ad1-1a2f-5def-8c34-d2f6ee626517.html

    “Operation FAITHFUL PATRIOT
The following military units have been identified to deploy to the southwest border in support of
CBP. The total number of troops deployed will change each day as military forces flow into the
operating area, but initial estimates indicate the DOD will have identified approximately 7,000 troops supporting Operation FAITHFUL PATRIOT across California, Arizona and Texas.”

    Most will be based at:
“Base Support Installations near points of entry. BSIs are DOD federal installations located near the operation area and serve as primary logistics hubs, typically during a Defense Support to Civil Authorities response. Bases may be added or subtracted as operational planning continues.
    • Arizona: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Fort Huachuca
    • California: Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton,
Naval Air Facility El Centro, Naval Base Coronado Naval Base San Diego, Naval Base
    Point Loma
    • Texas: Fort Bliss, Lackland Air Force Base, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Naval
Operations Support Center Harlingen, Naval Air Station Kingsville, “.

    9
  10. PS: Forgot to mention that the logistics of shuttling these troop units back and forth between the several Base Support Installations ‘near’ points of entry (BSIs), and the actual border crossings and areas will be incredible.

The San Antonio BSIs are about 275 miles, the Corpus and Kingsville BSIs about 140 miles, from the actual border itself.
AFAIK, there isn’t any suitable operating base location in the Valley that could billet all aprx 1,800 of the troops scheduled to be utilized there. I guess they could lease some onion or cotton fields near the river from some growers, and pitch their tents near the bridges.

Even by air shuttle, daily, every few days(?) (Helo and Herc’s likely), plus ground transport at each end, it will be a ridiculous exercise.
    Let alone hugely expensive.

  11. I dunno, I’ve had to deal with some ornery toddlers and maybe it does take 5 soldiers to get one asylum seeking toddler to do what it’s told.

    11
  12. The very name of this massive Trumpian boondoggle to stroke RAT45’s ego, and agitate his MAGAot hordes, was obviously carefully selected to ‘buzz’ the ChristoTaliban and Reptile minions into an orgasmic Rapture :
    “Operation FAITHFUL PATRIOT” .

  13. yet another baby boomer says:

Just in case anyone’s looking for it, the book Debbo refers to, Fear, is written by Bob Woodward. Which is kinda interesting since he’s usually thought to be the more politically conservative (although not by that much these days) of the two. Carl Bernstein did write a biography of Hillary though a while back. Sure do wish there was some sort of Deep Throat that would leak everything to the NYT and the Washington Post re: the Russian influence over the orange thing in DC. But if there ever is some kind of criminal reckoning on him, deliberately inciting fear and deploying the military under false pretenses should be one of the many charges. Of course, Shrub and Chaney got away with the same evil reckless stuff, albeit on foreign soil, so maybe that’s just my own personal pipe dream.

    13
  14. Oh boy!!! All that moving and ridiculousness. I do remember my late husband (Army) mentioning such stuff I’m his experience but I will not use the language he preferred when he got filed up. there really has to be some way that Mattis or somebody in DOD could say “stuff it . . . we ain’t got the $$ to do this.” Plus, it disrespects the military. Just remember after November 6th comes November 11th, Veterans Day. I bet those vets are sure glad they are out of the political craziness.
