I Don’t Think So

October 01, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Just in case you were wondering what Vladimir Putin thinks about his liability in all this impeachment business, Reuters has come to your rescue.

The Kremlin said on Monday that Washington would need Russian consent to publish transcripts of phone calls between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Yeah, Vlad, what you gonna do if we ignore your thoughts on this subject and publish the transcripts anyway?  Go shirtless to the Bolshoi Ballet?  Quit being Donald Trump’s love interest? I mean, what do you think we have to lose – fair and free elections?

On the list of permissions we need, Putin’s permission ranks right below Lindsey Graham’s.

Thanks to Epp for the heads up.

  1. The Surly Professor says:

I think the real target is Trump, who is either enamoured or terrified of Putin. JJ, your reaction is what any non-implicated American would have. But
Trump is not in that category.

On the other hand, I love how this tweaks Trump. He can’t release those conversations – not necessarily because of their contents, but in fear of the compromising material Russia could release in retaliation. At the same time, if he doesn’t puff up his chest and give the diplomatic equivalent of “Yeah, you and what army?”, he looks weak to his acolytes.

    I love it.

  2. Once he started and found so little resistance, Putin now can’t stop telling Americans what they should do.

  3. So Trump has his orders now.

Da, this is Kremlin and mob-speak [his first tongue] directed to RAT45.
To gently remind him that they own his sorry ass, from his mangy mango mop to his tiny trembling toes. And if Comrade Donnei steps off Vlad’s redbrick road, he’ll sleep with the fishies [and hopefully with the rest of the closest crime family, and all the Redpublicans].

  5. Mostly what this speaks to is Putin’s arrogance.

    And then there’s this:
