Hummmm … A New Old Idea

This graphic is sooooo smart and an indication of how good staff is. Trump knew how to brand stupid hats but never understood the possibilities of branding a major initiative. Biden’s people are issuing variations of this graphic for stimulus payments, college loan relief, every piece of the bill. The colors and lettering are callbacks to FDR and the NRA, which had signs everywhere in the country. This is how you teach ignorant Americans what government does. I think that’s part of what kept them on FDR’s side even after the economy tanked again.
I’m pleased when I see signs alongside roadwork that says “Your tax dollars at work”, or this project funded by state proposition xyz, etc. It even makes the delay a little bearable for a brief moment.

The Greatest Generation had numerous public fund drives, volunteer organizations, awareness campaigns, rationing,
all sorts of sacrifices for the greater good.

If the pandemic is to be treated like a war, we definitely
2need to have a campaign of sorts. Maybe through social media too. Turn the tide on the flow of bullshit information.
This morning on a local news program there was a news item and graphics about some soon-to-happen rollout of some COVID-45 vaccination ‘supersites’ in Texas that would handle thousands of people a day [which we desperately need].
The only politician I heard quoted was good ol’ Gov. Greg Abbott, who was just gushing about this and how –he– would make it happen.
Problem with ol’ Abutt patting hisself on the back is that one of the graphics clearly showed that this was a **federal FEMA initiative**.
And therefore certainly part of President Biden’s huge efforts to correct Guv Abutt and Komrade Donnei’s major FUs throughput the whole Rethug pandemic clusterfock. Abbott = JAR [Just Another Ratbastard].

3IOW, Same-Old-Shit media coverage when it comes to Democrats v. GQPers.
They praise any damned Rethug to holy hell for what usually turns into a grifty mess.
And basically ignore Democrats walking across the Rethuglikan shitpools and cleaning it as up as they go along.
#2: I can’t understand why the government doesn’t hire a few of the best advertising agencies to create a campaign for mask-wearing, social distancing, etc. For cryin’ out loud, for years they’ve convinced the public to buy tons of crap that they don’t really need, including things to smoke that give you cancer. Surely they could come up with some catchy advertising to get the points across to the idiot masses.
4With any luck, the words “fund a national vaccine program” are the anti-vaxxers’ worst nightmare come true. It’s time to start ‘splaining the difference between freedom and freedumb.
