Having worked around Texas city, county, and State government entities from 1974 to 2017, I can assure you they all at least attempt to replace your reality with theirs. Some are far more successful than others, but all attempt the transubstantiation. Not all their attempts are heinous but all attempts create dichotomies only the employee can resolve.
That W’s WH made the same attempt should surprise no one.
I suspect other kinds of organizations make the same attempts. Over the years I heard employees express similar sentiments about EDS under Ross Perot, IBM under Tom Watson and Lou Gerstner, Apple under Steve Jobs, Microsoft under Gates and Ballmer, etc.
4Trump proved you can lie and cheat your way to the top. How long you can stay there is yet to be seen. It helps that the American voter is dumb as a post.

6What manafort did on one count was plain and simple, money laundering. Hiding payments from foreign countries in off- shore accounts and then paying bills here with wire transfers. That my friend is a simple method of money laundering. This is how the mob and drug dealers do it. To avoid paying taxes, you try to do that see what happens to you. Witch ( apologies to the good witches) hunt yes we found one!
7Not only do I want to see all of them, Katie, go to prison for their crimes, I want to see them stripped of ALL their assets, to the point where they have to make collect calls from prison to their right wing nut job “friends” to get commissary money. I want them all to come out of this owning NOTHING and owing everybody. Let them know how the poor suffer.
8@BSFMan – NAILED it, re: Ross Perot. I worked for both EDS (in the 1980’s) and Perot Systems (in the 1990’s). It was very cult-like. I’m glad I escaped.

Y’all remember from a few weeks ago the GrOPers trying to spin ‘something’ juicy and/or scandalous out of the apparently ‘mysterious’ disappearance of TX Governor’s candidate Lupe Valdez’ service weapon (a 9mm Beretta IIRC) when she resigned from her Sheriff’s position?
Lo and behold, the other day it was ‘found’ in a property room AT the Sheriff’s HQ office. Supposedly the pistol was just misplaced or something.
Ms. Valdez had absolutely nothing to do with any of this.
But, she’s a Democrat.
Anybody else think, like me, that this was probably a total politically driven inside hit job to discredit her?

It’s a picture of him with his belly hatch open on the cover of a tabloid newspaper that I picked up from the grocery store years ago. As for the evil part, well, Iraq, weapons of mass destruction, the destabilization of the already most volatile region in the world, and shooting his buddy in the face with a shotgun cuz they wouldn’t let him go to Bagdad and personally waterboard some poor schmuck that got accused of hiding Saddam by his neighbor who wanted to steal his wife.
