He Used To Break My Beautiful Vases, Now He Breaks Grown Men UPDATED and MORE UPDATED
Thank you guys for all your kind words about my son. If you have any memes or stuff I just must read or things you want to say to Mark, you can do it here.
Yes, I am proud of Mark but I am equally proud of his big brother, Bryan the librarian, who not only found the clip of Jones calling Neil “slow” on his broadcast while Neil was testifying but also got it to Mark within minutes, clipped and ready to go. Bryan goes to work every day to push back frontiers of ignorance and he loves it.
We will all wait semi-patiently for the jury verdict, but the team at Farrar & Ball are taking comfort in the realization that they followed this case for almost four years and did their best. Sometimes hard work pays off in getting lucky.
Hey, I am also proud of my daughter-in-law for ordering this mug for her husband. I was there when he came up with that line.
UPDATE: Mr. Jones’s attorney filed a motion for a mistrial this morning due to the fact that he screwed up. That wasn’t a real starter with the judge. I just asked Mr. Bankston for a clarification before I told you this: I did, in fact, hear that there are text messages between Mr. Jones and Roger Stone in the data dump and that he has heard from the J6 committee.
The defense filed an emergency of protection regarding #AlexJones' attorney F. Andino Reynal accidentally sending Jones' cellphone record to plaintiffs' attorney Mark Bankston. The defense asked for a mistrial but was denied. pic.twitter.com/Tj8eoZRiV9

MORE UPDATE: The jury came back with $4.1 million in compensatory damages. Tomorrow they will decide punitive damages – ie., the damages to punish Jones.
A friend sent me a picture of Mark on tv after the verdict. He’s pleased.
A great job well done, bringing down one of the most vile and vicious sonuvabitches around. Take him for every last nickel he has, including his offshore hidden assets.
But Mark and all others involved need to make sure of their personal security.
I’ve been surreptitiously monitoring various RWNJ websites, especially Alex Jones Infowars one.
There is a certain amount of oblique incitement therein about this trial, but in the readers comments there is a huge degree of violence implied. These vermin are “stochastic terrorists”, and the odds of one or more of them actually perpetrating a violent act is very high.
Take care, everyone.

As a Perry Mason show addict [I try to watch each of the daily METV episodes aired], Hollywood should be creating the 2022 version any moment now, centered on the modern replacement legal beagle, Mark Bankston.
Per a comment above, there is a new Wikipedia “Perry Mason Moment” section, just edited in by one
“01:14, 4 August 2022 OFS Razgriz talk contribs 32,338 bytes +1,702 →History: Added an example direct-quoted from the Alex Jones defamation lawsuit” :

“Alex Jones defamation lawsuit
1In 2022, alt-right radio show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones went on trial for a defamation lawsuit filed on behalf of the parents of victims in the Sandy Hook shooting, who Alex Jones had called “crisis actors” due to his false assertions that the shooting was a hoax perpetrated by gun control advocates.[18] Lawyer for the plaintiffs Mark Bankston revealed to Jones on the witness stand under cross-examination that Jones’ lawyers had mistakenly sent Bankston a complete digital archive of Jones’ text messages and phone data for nearly two years prior to the lawsuit. Furthermore, Jones’ lawyers were notified of the mistake and had failed to claim that the records were protected under client-attorney privilege, allowing Bankston to provide the evidence during the trial. These messages revealed information that directly contradicted prior testimony from Jones, indicating that he had lied under oath. In response, Jones told Bankston, “I guess this is your Perry Mason moment.”[19]”
I used to work in a turkey packing plant and I have never seen anyone carve a turkey as well as Mr. Bankston. You should invite him to Thanksgiving dinner!
2Unfortunately the verdict will be a disappointment to most of us here. Because there is no death penalty in civil cases. $150M is a good start, however.
3The Law & Crime network YouTube channel has all the livestreams of the court case as well as a few snippets.
4I heard this morning on The Stephanie Miller Show that Texas had caps on punitive damages. So, we may be disappointed in that, too.
5From what I’ve read, the cap on punitive damages in Texas is 2x the economic damages + $750k which would be about $8.9 million. That means the total could be $14 million. No amount is going to bring closure to the parents suing Jones, but hope they feel like some Justice will be served against him. Thanks to their persistence and Mark Bankston.
6Doncha all just feel like Mark is your nephew or something? I do not have the right to feel pride in him, but I do.
7Stay safe, young man, you did a great job!
Auntie Joyce
Both of your sons are awesome. You raised them well, JJ!
84:30 CT- word is jury has reached a verdict on punitive damages. Hold your breath a while longer!
9$ 42.5 Million in punitive damages plus 4.1. Obviously we’ll over the cap in Texas for punitive damages. Great news!
1045.2 + 4.1 million $’s – correction.
11Sanctions, sanctions, sanctions. And the judge told Reynal twice that he was telling her an untruth.
12Steve from Beaverton @10, Wow! That’s gonna leave a ‘Mark’ on that MAGAoty POS Alex J.
~Ten times for the punitive amount is OK, $150/300M woulda been better. But what the hell, that slimy vermin is already squirmin’ like a cockroach with a roadrunner about to pounce his sorry ass.
13Beep-beep, Wiley Alex just went over another cliff with a bundle of dynamite tied to his tail…
It’s even more money, $49.3 Million total.
The Texas Tribune has an article with lots of numbers.
This award judgment is just for one victim. IIRC, there were 26 Sandy Hook deaths, and many other casualties.
So one could multiply that $50M by 25 more and it’s $1,250,000,000 more.
One Billion 300 Million dollars that Mr. Alex Jones should be looking at paying, if the others were to also seek compensation. Add in the many others affected and double that amazing amount.
Alex babee is toast…crap flavored burnt toast.. yeehaaa!
https://www.texastribune.org/2022/08/05/alex-jones-sandy-hook-punitive/
“A Texas jury on Friday added $45.2 million to the damages that conspiracy theorist and media personality Alex Jones must pay to the parents of a Sandy Hook shooting victim as punishment for repeatedly claiming the school shooting was a hoax.
14…
On Thursday, the jury ordered Jones to pay the parents $4.1 million in compensation for his comments, bringing the total amount owed to just under $50 million. Friday’s order determined punitive damages, which can be awarded to punish a defendant for reckless, negligent or outrageous behavior or to deter future bad acts.”
I’d love to hear how the jury calculated the “punitive” element of the damages.
So, Jones is on the hook for $1.5M in fines & penalties, $4.1M for damages, $45M as punitive/exemplary … for one couple mourning their dead son.
Hope we can now move on to referrals for perjury, attorney discipline, and whatever the J6 committee can do with a phone-ful of info.
Wonder if the example of Alex Jones will be a cautionary tale for some of the other “entertainers” who play in the swamps of RWNJ TV, radio, & websites.
15I posted some stuff to smile about under the Friday Toons if you need something(s) funny on a Friday evening. Thanks to my wife for finding them. You’ll have to go there for the site.
16Delighted to see that Jones now owes those poor people nearly $50 million. Hope Mark can have the weekend off, at least, before sending those phone records to all the people who want them.
17Then we need sanctions against lying Jones and his lying lawyer. The judge deserves a prize for composure and firmness.
Thanks for the picture of Mark smiling. His furrowed brow during the trial showed he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. We can all feel the relief he must feel over the successful completion of this monumental trial.
18The thought of that megalomaniac being indicted by the Justice Dept., due to his texts and emails re Jan. 6, fills me with hope.
We may have more for which to thank Mark than we know.
Can Mark explain the cap Texas has placed on punitive damages? It’s confusing, but what I’m seeing is $750,000 per plaintiff.
Been reading you off and on since 2010. When you’ve been going someplace for a while, you tend not to pay as much attention to the background, and I missed the connection to your wonderful son. Good job. With both.
19I’m proud of Mark and Bryan right along with you. Their dad would be bursting at the seams. It’s always great to know about the support team behind the attorneys. Way to go, Bryan, the Librarian! I’m a retired member of your profession from Richmond/Rosenberg.
20Message to Mark Bankston:
Thank you, thank you thank you!
To Juanita Jean:
Thank you for raising such amazing sons. Also for your blog, which was a beacon of hope sprinkled with some joy for me during my latest years in Texas. I fled 3 years ago but I still read your blog (and vote in Texas. Legally. I’m overseas).
21Love you, Susan, and your two smart sons, too.
