He Really Doesn’t Care if You Live or Die…
Many of us believe Trump doesn’t care whether you live or die. There is ample evidence of that from his behavior over the years, but was in plain view last night at Eppley Airfield outside of Omaha, Nebraska. To use Air Force One as his backdrop, he had thousands of supporters bussed 4 miles to a remote area on the airport. He held said rally, playing all of his Fat Elvis hits, then boarded his plane and was gone.
Thousands of his supporters were then left stranded out on the airfield, with few buses taking people back. Oh, and it was 30 degrees last night. Emergency medical teams were called and were treating people for hypothermia. At least 7 people remain hospitalized this morning.
Two lessons here: 1) He really doesn’t care if you live or die; 2) Incompetence pervades every aspect of Trumpland. They can’t even get buses right.
I think it goes beyond that–he doesn’t care for voters, or whether he gets the most votes. He has always been planning on cheating, bribing and intimidating his way into a lifetime tenure. Like he has his whole life.

2I’m not surprised. He caged kids. He gassed peaceful protesters. He been holding major super spreader maskless rallies. He asked his followers to show up to an outdoor rally in 30 degree weather.
Do I feel sorry for the stupid decisions his followers made by showing up in 30 degree weather? Not much. I’m still looking for a fig to give.
3The sad thing is that the Trumpistas won’t care, or learn from this.

5I hope these folks reexamine their passion for the twitwaffle and his lack of concern for them. If they can’t be persuaded by the obvious truth, then let them die of cold and exposure and let them get covid before they can go to the polls. You know they have not voted by mail because their savior lies to them all the time and they eat it like candy. A pox on the fools! May they pass on and leave a space for someone better able to see the evil inherent in their “leader”. I have no sympathy for them at this late date.

7Fred @5 — Yeah the comments to that article are a puzzle. Another demonstration that Trump can do literally anything and it won’t shake his supporters one bit.
In this case they claim that it is just the same as what happens after a Huskies game so no big deal. (Narrator: no, it isn’t.)
8Thousands were bussed to the worship site? It’s a good thing we’ve turned the corner on Covid. In a few days to a week a lot of them will wonder why they are feeling like crap, other than the socialists stealing the election.

Or, wait for it … weather. That freeze is just further proof there is no global warning.
El Jefe, did you say “buses”? Here is where Donnie remains true to Republicon form. There are no buses without someone under the wheels when a Republicon governs. The economy, the courts, health care … all under the bus. Give him four more years and Donnie will back the bus back over those casualties and find some more to drive into the pavement.

13What is still puzzling to me though, are some quiet Trumpf voters that are so “christian” and “patriotic” that they will still vote for him, even after the things he’s done are so blatantly awful. Too long of a list to write out here, but we all know the list by heart. I know of a handful of them in my neighborhood, and I’ve concluded that their hatred of democrats is stronger than their moral compass. Now that we’re in last few days of this election, I intend say hi back when they say hi, followed by “I can hardly wait for Trumpf to be gone.”
I can’t help thinking that maybe some of those folks out there were my former friends. These include one guy I knew over fifty years; he stayed where he was and I didn’t. Things really went south with us after 2016- last time we talked in early 2019 he told me I ‘made him sick.’ He then called me late last year and left a nice message wondering how I was. I didn’t return the call and never have since.
I think maybe now he understands.
14consider that 1/3 of the crowd was from Western Iowa, another third from Sarpy County in District 2, that leaves a small count from the Omaha District 1. I see no dent in the way that district will go – Biden all the way!
15I heard from a reputable source that the Trump campaign never paid the bus company for the shuttles. The bus company took one load of people back after the rally and the campaign refused to pay them for any of their service at the rally so they stopped the shuttles.
16And Lesson 3: it proves that Stupid has consequences both personal and collective. Do you think any of those MAGATs have caught on yet that Trump doesn’t give a shit about them except for whatever time it takes for them to vote for him?
17Strange. Apparently the two-lane ring road around the airport was made one way out of the rally area at Eppley Field after the event, preventing the buses from coming back in.
The Trump campaign says there were heaters and hot chocolate available. Can’t find a map of the rally layout where those amenities were available. Maybe the campaign is lying about the existence or amount of such aid possible.
Time for some investigative reporting, ask a few questions of disenchanted seniors? Local TV news?
18It’s not just Trump who doesn’t care if people die. Remember the people at that pre-campaign rally in 2015 I think it was, before Trump became the presumptive candidate, when they weren’t yet making sure all in attendance agreed with the hard line, and someone asked what about people who couldn’t afford health insurance and got something deadly. And the crowd started yelling “They should die…just die…”
It’s the Republican credo: the poor should just die. The sick should just die. Women, children, people of color should just DIE rather than cause anyone else a moment’s inconvenience.
