Good News For Good News
You will be delighted to know that Rachel Maddow did it.
MSNBC has been experiencing a dramatic rise in ratings, finishing the first quarter of 2018 as the only cable news network to grow compared to Q1 2017: MSNBC ratings were up 30%, while both Fox News and CNN experienced declines.
The March ratings results suggest Fox News’ unrivaled status as the dominant force in cable news may be facing one of the strongest challenges in years.
This is good news for good news.
To tell you the truth, I discovered Rachel when I went out and bought a satellite radio just so I could listen to her on Air America. Marc Maron also had an extremely funny show on Air America.
Well deserved!
1Of course she beat Sean Hannity! She’s way smarter, articulate, funny and enjoys what she does for a living.
2Strikes a rare blow for sanity. Let’s have some more!
3So how do you deal with the highly negative attitude that pundits like Glenn Greenwald and Bob Somerby have for her?
4She just tell’s you what’s going on. Not what you should think about it. And never once has she told a bald faced lie and told you to believe it. No one with a IQ over room temp. needs to be told what to think about a fact.
5I LUV TRMS!! I knew it was only a matter of time before she was able to climb to the top. I’ve watched her ever since she debuted on Keith Olbermann’s show and she’s only gotten better.
She’s respectful of the guests that appear on her show, even those with whom she disagrees; she’s always well prepared, and always leaves her viewers well educated.
Although, I do miss her “Friday Cocktails” or the “Oddball Gifts” where she’d give prizes of random articles found in her office for viewers who answered questions about the preceding week’s topics. Of course, the past year or so has been rather rambunctious in the news department. More than once she has appeared on the screen to announce that whatever program that had been mapped out had to be scrapped due to the present POTUS.
Go, Girl!!!
6I record TRMS as a series, and watch the following day to skip ads. I think it puts her show into perspective that it is still useful to watch because of the depth of information. Speaking of which, she and her staff are doing interesting things with data that used to seem kind of random previously, and now is being lined up via Mueller investigation -> TRMS as an analysis group.
I even would get a TRMS polar fleece jacket (not on Amazon anyway)…
7BTW, Velshi and Ruhle is great if you want an understanding of the confluence of politics and economics. Not surprisingly, 2 areas that 45 sucks at, so with great regularity they dump on his fabrications, prevarications, and dissembling with that ever so rare commodity of cold, hard, facts…
8I can’t deal with Ms Ruhle. Her shrill delivery sends me to the garage to change the oil in a motor.
