Good News / Bad News

No matter how bad things get, we will always have this to smile about.

The White House has assured Canada that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will not be appointed as U.S. ambassador to Canada.

A Trudeau government official says that assurance was provided to Canadian officials during Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s visit to the White House on Monday.

“It isn’t Sarah Palin,” the official said.

And now for the bad news …

American officials have not yet made a decision on an ambassador but were leaning to appointing someone who raised money for the Trump campaign.

The only reason she’s not getting it is because she doesn’t have enough money to buy it.

Thanks to Carl for the heads up.

  1. Dammit.

I figured Hair Drumpf would appoint Psycho Barbie to the Ambassador to Canada office. Then she would spend 4 years trying to find the Embassy location. And we could see her on a tv show like The Great Race traveling across Alyeska into Canada asking everyone “Where be the M Bus C?” Dumba$$.

  2. Wait. Who says Palin’s not getting it? Somebody in the TRUMP administration? Well, that clinches it — Sarah Palin can start packing. She’s in like — uh — Flynn.

Wow, Rastybob. Money doesn’t buy much these days, does it? But then again, when you only shop garage sales… just sayin’.

  5. and Drumpf is supposedly considering David Betrayed Us for Flynn’s replacement! Has his scandal been forgotten?

  6. Everybody, all the best people say it’s because she doesn’t speak Canadian!
    Snark.

  7. JAKvirginia, in keeping with their crime family marketing practices and eldest daughter “let ’em eat cake” Ivanka’s flammable clothing line, it’s a fire sale of a ‘government.’

Borrowed from Godwin’s Law, there really should be a “Palin’s Law.” Next clown who pulls her a$$ets of the ashes of history like Donnie did should be shot.

Jane & PKM: Y’know, we may both be wrong. It seems they shop in the dark back alleys of a casbah where the cheap hookers, thieves and drug addicts hang. A place that isn’t safe at high noon.

  9. JAKvirginia, if Dante were alive, he’d burn his manuscript and start anew.

  10. Folks, let’s not get too snarky on the subject of giving nice ambassadorships to people who donated a lot to the campaign. We all know that Dems do that too.

  11. JAKvirginia says:

Rhea: Yes, that’s true. But it usually isn’t there only qualification.

  12. JAKvirginia says:

    …their only… (damn it).

  13. @Rhea

As a lifelong card carrying secret handshake knowing Democrat, how much would an ambassadorship to say Monaco or maybe the Vatican cost me? I want the title and all I just don’t wanna go some place that sucks, like Moscow. Is there an Ambassador to some South Pacific paradise available?? Enquiring minds want to know!

Rastybob: correction…We have the worst Government that Money can Buy.

  15. Well, we know that for secretary of education the price is several million over time.

As Micr implied, it might not be too far out to speculate that some ambassadorships require more ‘contributions’ than others.

While there are probably a list of other requirements, contributions to the party in power is usually right up at the top of the list of qualifications and is weighted appropriately.

    15
  16. Perhaps if Sarah had been able to see Canada from her front yard, she would have been more qualified as ambassador to their country.

    16
  17. Larry from CO. Sorry I stand corrected. My Bad !!

@Diane #6- She could maybe seek translation services from a long-time friend of mine now marrird to a Canuckstanian woman. They live in Mission B.C.He used to be a college instructor in Bellingham, Wash.I’m relatively certain he’d be able to translate between Canuckistanian and American English He’d probably even be familiar with American slang.
