Gaetz Running to the Sidelines?

March 30, 2021 By: El Jefe Category: Shaming Trumpists, Trumpists, Uncategorized

Wow.  Twice in one day we talk about Matt Gaetz; first this morning when we talked about him accurately calling “Big Dan” Rodimer a fake Texan.  Now, Axios is reporting that Gaetz is toying with leaving Congress to join Newsmax as a manure shoveler on television.  It fits.  Usually politicians don’t leave a cush job on Capitol Hill unless there is some problem.  What’s Gaetz problem?  Well, as I write this, news is breaking that Gaetz is being investigated in Florida for a sexual relationship with a 17 year old girl.  The investigation is part of a larger investigation into Gaetz pal Joel Greenberg who’s being investigated for sex trafficking of minors.  Well, being Trump allies, that all fits.  The interesting thing is that the investigation was opened months ago while Bill Barr was still AG.  Funny how Barr didn’t trumpet that one like he did the one into how the FBI conducted investigations of Trump before the 2016 election.

There’s been a lot of speculation about Gaetz over the years, especially when he revealed last year that he “adopted” a 12 year old boy from Cuba 6 years ago when he was 32 years old himself.  He kept that relationship secret until last summer when he revealed it in a surprise announcement.  Until then, he had called the boy his “helper” and a congressional page.

Newsmax, being super Trumpist, doesn’t seem to have any problem with pedophilia, but I’m curious if that the offer is going to come through now.

    According to The NY Times.

Gee, Q and the far right like to accuse the lefty democrats of being involved with sex trafficking of minors. Mr gaetz did have something to hide. Good luck getting a job even with newsmax .

I’m thinking that some of trump’s bench appointments might not have peachy-keen personal histories.

Ftucker carlson interviewed gaetz tonight (I did not watch) and later said it was the weirdest interview he’s ever done. That’s saying something. Hope gaetz is toast.

  5. The question in my mind is whether Texas or Florida is the strangest state. Not excluding my adopted home of Michigan, which has lots of strange shit going on too.

Gawd, watching this weasel squirm is a guilty pleasure.
I hope Sydney Powell is available to represent him in court.

  8. In 2017, the House voted 418 to 1 for an anti Human trafficking bill called Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act. Guess who was the dissenting vote? I wonder why.

Well, it figures—Gaetz finally does something decent re “Big Dan,” then immediately falls into a vat of scandal. I sincerely hope his career is over.

Well, *that’s* a slick trick! The Congressional Page program was ended in 2011. https://history.house.gov/Exhibitions-and-Publications/Page-History/Historical-Essays/End/

How come no one called him out on that bulls**t?

Gaetz is now claiming that this is part of an extortion scheme by a DOJ employee attempting to shake him down. And that his father together with the FBI have been working to bust that employee. Furthermore, the 17 year old girl does not exist. I’m sure he’ll run through the full Bart Simpson defense (I didn’t do it, it was an accident, you can’t prove it, someone else made me do it, …) before it’s all over. And the same Republicans who are claiming George Floyd deserved to be killed because he once used drugs will be loudly shouting how Gaetz is innocent until proven guilty.

There are lists all over the Internet of Republicans molesting children. Here’s one that seems to verify each incident instead of just copying others and appending to them:

    https://www.pravdori.com/en/story/1/republicans-convicted-of-child-sexual-abuse

It only includes convictions, and also leaves off “creepy but not illegal” incidents so Roy Moore isn’t included. They also have a list of child-molesting Democrats, although it is much shorter.

Imagine the change in temperature in the White House when Gaetz introduced Greenberg to Trump and said he was a tax collector.
