Fun With Guns: Would the Bad Guys Please Raise Their Hands? Edition
So ya know how the NRA says the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun?
At about 11:00 pm last night, police responded to a shooting at a gas station in Houston.
Officials say two men jumped another man in the gas station parking lot and took the victim’s Chevrolet pickup truck. Police say a witness then pulled out a gun and began shooting at the suspects, accidentally hitting the carjacking victim in the head.
The good guy with a gun, fearing ruining the NRA’s motto I suppose, did not hang around.
Police say the witness who shot at the suspects picked up shell casings and left the scene.
See, that’s the whole deal. How do you know who the bad guys are and the good guys are? I know, let’s make it a law that good guys always wear white hats. That will work just as well as arming idiots. Maybe better.
Thanks to Ralph for the heads up.
From Nobody’s Fool:
Judge Flatt: Ollie, you know my feelings about arming morons: you arm one, you’ve got to arm them all, otherwise it wouldn’t be good sport.
1Poor s.o.b. caught in the middle. Tsk.
If these ammosexuals insist on using their penis-extenders in public, surely they must go to a firing range to improve their aim.
2Oh Poop,
This is just NOT FUNNY…
3White hats. Why didn’t I think of that.
4I kind of assume the good guys are the ones without the guns.
5It’s really simple. If you have to carry a gun to prove you are free, you are a bad guy. (in honor of Jeff Foxworthy, you are probably also a redneck)
6Except for some stray lead, the “good guy”cleaned up his litter.
7OT-did anyone besides Moi see the lunar eclipse tonight? Breathtaking Nature at its finest.
8e platypus, I wish we could but it’s too cloudy in Maryland. We have to watch on the internet and wait for other people’s photos.
9Sorry,Rhea. It was perfectly clear in iowa tonight and I sat at the end of the lane and watched for almost 2 hours-until the eclipse was total and my back and legs were giving me fits. Wouldn’t miss this for the world.
10What could possibly go wrong? Oh, never mind…
epo, thanks for sharing your description of the eclipse – cloudy in the Houston area, too.
11JJ, all too often this happens. For instance, right in my own so called safe neighborhood. Some idiot broke into a townhouse and took the resident hostage. When the cops arrived and ordered the perp to come out with hands up, they shot the guy who came out with his hands up. Anyone want to guess that they shot the hostage? Yup. They did. Deader than a doornail. The NRA can kiss my lace covered behind.
12epo … I was able to see the entire lunar eclipse while sitting in my living room in my 6th floor apartment where I live in Canon City, CO. I did take some pictures with my cellphone and posted to Facebook, but you really need a good camera and the right kind of lenses to get those really beautiful shots. A cellphone camera just does not cut it!!
It was a stunning sight to see!!
13As usual, try as you might, could not get to see this event. Too many tall trees around me, and after the rebuild, I can’t crawl out onto the roof any more!
14New T-shirt and bumper sticker to express my sincere desire that the “good” guys with guns stay the hell away from me and my wife.
“Please Don’t help”
15Sadly, not mentioned as far as I could see, the victim died.
16Steve, that’s terrible. It was reported the man was in stable condition after the shooting. Tragic for his friends and family who were hoping for a better outcome as were all of us.
17A tragic reminder of just how dangerous these idiots are. Wonder if he’ll be charged with anything. Or even feel any guilt for his “honest mistake “.
18I had a wonderful view of the Red Super Moon here in Minnesota. I sat out back for an hour watching. We humans are so puny!
I took photos with my phone and they do show the growing eclipse, but they’re really not very good. I need a Much Brighter Flash.
