Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Around my part of the world, it is not hard to know a Secret Service Agent. From all I could tell, the Vice President actually has the better agents, so much so that a previous President was envious and tried to get the best ones from that detail assigned to him. It didn’t work. And I’ll always wonder why.
1I’ve lost track of the columnists in the WashPost who’ve said we do NOT need more blasted “security” covering several more blocks around the White House– we need the Secret Service to do its job, and maybe even lock the White House doors.
We’ve already lost the west front of the Capitol, with its gorgeous view down the Mall; the main doors of the Supreme Court (you have to go in a piddly little side door now instead of up the steps under the “Equal Justice For All” carving); and some of what used to be public space and streets around the White House. I don’t think we’re any safer, just more restricted and ticked off in our own capital.
As for climate change? Emissions are still going up and up. Some talk, very little action. The future is not looking good, folks.
