Netanyahoo has double whiplash from flip-flopping on 2 state solution to Palestinian/Israel problem. Before the election he was for a solution before he was against it and now he is for it after winning election. Maybe he is just wingnut willing to say whatever it takes to get votes.

  2. epo: “Maybe”?

  3. Netanyahu is acting like Nixon pursuing the Southern Strategy. That worked well for a while, but even here it’s wearing thin. Plus, things didn’t work out well for Nixon ’cause he also had that corruption thing going on.

I support Israel, but I would be happy to see their leadership getting their butt’s kicked for supporting aggressive, neo-con policies. And I would love to see our government start to wean them.

The first ‘toon is chilling, but drives home the treasonous character of undermining our President as he tries to avoid nuclear war.

  5. I would never know it’s Friday if it wasn’t for you. Thanks.

I don’t remember seeing Boehner on a allot – Netanyahu either.

  7. That first one? The 47 still don’t get it, do they.

It’s fashionable to bash Netanyahu, and he deserves much of it, but the two-state solution died when Hamas sabotaged the Oslo Accords by starting the Second Intifada.

How does anyone suggest Netanyahu – or any Israeli – agree on a two-state solution when the elected government of the ostensible second state has as its primary objective the utter destruction of the first and has shown it’s willing to go to war to sabotage any peace agreement?

This isn’t to say that there isn’t a lot about Netanyahu and Israeli policy toward the Palestinians that isn’t contemptible. But blame him for the stuff for which he’s responsible, like the expanded settlements and his over-the-top reactions to provocations which result in the deaths of scores of civilians.

But as for the two-state solution, it’s wrong to point at Netanyahu and say he’s responsible for killing something that’s been dead for over ten years.

It isn’t just the 2 state solution,John in Lafayette. It is Israel’s constant mucking around in our foreign policy in the Middle East. It is their constant defiance of UN resolutions and thumbing their nose at Obama with the help of right wing nutjobs. It is Israel’s constant and insistent building of settlements ,against US wishes,in occupied territories. It is in fact, nearly everything about Israel. They will get us involved in more conflicts which will cost more Americans their lives, limbs and our treasury.

    @ e platypus:

But the cartoon wasn’t about any of those things.

The Israelis didn’t involve us in Afghanistan or Iraq. And nobody, let alone the US, is ever going to send troops to fight and die for Israel. They’re on their own and believe me, they know it.
