Finland’s Solution to Wildfires – Raking

November 18, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Trump, Uncategorized

I’m not going to comment on Trump’s visit to wildfire-ravaged California beyond saying this is the latest episode of Trump holding the position of number one global embarrassment.  What an idiot.  In his own words:

On forest management:

“You’ve got to take care of the floors. You know the floors of the forest, very important. You look at other countries where they do it differently and it’s a whole different story.”

“I was with the president of Finland and he said, ‘We have a much different—we’re a forest nation.’ He called it a forest nation, and they spent a lot of time on raking and cleaning and doing things. And they don’t have any problem.  And when it is, it’s a very small problem, so I know everybody is looking at it to that end and it’s going to work out, it’s going to work out well.”

On climate:

“Maybe it contributes a little bit. The big problem we have is management.”

“No. No. I have a strong opinion: I want great climate, we’re going to have that.”

Again, this guy is an idiot.  ‘Nuff said.

  1. I want a MAGAot-style “Make America Rake Again” ballcap ASAP (pls somebody market them soon).
But what color to get it in: Burnt Orange, Flame Red, Bluewater, Airdrop Magenta, Leaf and Needle Green, Dried Brush Khaki, GOP Yellow, Braindead Brown…

Some of my Yooper Finnish ancestors are probably revolving in their graves at the stoopidity of RAT45.

  2. FYI: SOBOTUS Comrade Bone Spurs never ever gets anything right—

Even far north, cold and wet Finland (half above the Arctic Circle) was fighting climate change caused forest fires earlier this year.

    https://www.euractiv.com/section/energy-environment/news/eus-hero-firefighters-head-north-to-fight-blazes/

    “From Euractiv, July 23, 2018

The European Union has successfully coordinated a mass effort to fight the wildfires raging in the Arctic Circle, dispatching planes and firefighters in what has been dubbed “solidarity in action”.

Unseasonably hot temperatures and dry conditions have triggered wildfires in a part of the world normally associated with snow, ice and rain.

*** Sweden has been worst hit by the blazes, which are also raging in Norway, Finland and Russia. ***
Last week (16 July), the Swedish government requested assistance from the European Commission, which coordinates voluntary efforts by the EU member states.”

You forgot these colors: victim bone ash gray and charcoal remains black.

The ***king moron cannot distinguish between a rake and a McLeod. When he’s metaphorically hit by Speaker Pelosi, he’ll be wishing it was a literal Pulauski.

  5. What people fail to mention is that the land Trump claims isn’t managed properly – is either Federally-owned, or privately owned. Smart Democrats in the House should include adequate funding for wildfire prevention on federally-owned land, and inspections of privately-owned land.

They could be funded by things such as eliminating the “carried interest” loophole.

  6. G Foresight says:

Decoded: “forest management” means 1) letting logging companies go onto public land and unabashedly cut down trees and 2) privatizing national parks so that they are just another corporate profit center.

  7. Trump is not going to like Twitter this morning:
    #RakeAmericaGreatAgain
    #ForestTrump

  8. @Jane & PKM
I hear yall Talking that woodland fire fightin’ talk there. I’ll see your McLeod AND your Pulaski and raise you a pair of fire flappers!

  9. The way you can tell if Trump is lying is if his mouth is moving. I want to see the California and New York Democrats take down the entire Trump family. And then ICE can take down Melanoma Trump.

Micr, say “fire flapper” to Donnie and he’ll demand a NDA. Or, sputter some nonsense about Messy being a ‘legal’ immigrant.’

  11. Trump’s policy on everything: When you have no idea what’s going on, make s*** up. If called on it, make more s*** up.

I haven’t the faintest idea how this keeps working for him. It’s not Maxine Waters who’s “low IQ,” and there are a hell of a lot of them out there voting.

“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize that half of them are stupider than that!” — George Carlin

    11
  12. “and they spent a lot of time on raking and cleaning and doing things.”

It’s the “and doing things,” that raises the statement from merely stupid to idiotic.

  13. thought I’d never say this, but the forest of the Camp fire is predominantly pine trees, and the floor of the forest is covered with pine needles and pine straw, and tinder dry to boot. He may have backed into telling the truth.

    13
  14. @Papa, I had thought of such colors, but figured it was a bit too morbid.
I had very early in this Camp Fire conflagration predicted very heavy casualties, with many never found. I seen up close what a raging fire can do.

I later saw an interview with Butte County Sheriff Honea in which he described (to a degree) the ongoing fire victim recovery operations.
The sheriff outlined how some victims’ corpses little damaged were ID’ed fairly easily. Badly charred ones might be ID’ed by dental, etc., or if necessary DNA. He then mentioned that the skeletonized ones were a challenge, and that many fire victims had been reduced to basically just ash, who probably/might never would be identified.

(Sorry if this might be too graphic for some. When much younger, I was around a fair amount of death and destruction, got sort of numbed to it.)

  15. Buttermilk Sky says:

“I want great climate. We’re going to have that.” What does this even mean? What is “great climate”? Does he know there’s a difference between climate and weather? Does he think he can make climate great again? Why do reporters not ask these questions? Are they just worn down by having to listen to so much stupidity? I can sympathize with that.
