I posted this in the prior comments. If you would not like the trauma of Dolt45’s YouTube messaging flung in your face, run way far away. He spent 500K on it for the evening.

It’s Dem debate day, and Trump wants to keep the attention on his own campaign.

  2. AK Lynne says:

I figured he’d be doing a campaign rally or something…anything…to get the attention back on him. What a weenie!

  3. Jane & PKM says:

Not worried about IQ4.5 attempting to steal the headlines. With his face and track record, he’d do well to hide. When 2020 rolls around there’s a full pool of Democrats with message and policy There’ll only be one President, but the talent pool foretells a great selection for Cabinet positions. Democrats govern, Republicons destroy.

  4. Jane & PKM says:

Warren/Harris 2020 or Harris/Warren. Either Senator would be great decimating Donnie before the debate even begins. One line – “I’m not his type!” IQ4.5 would never recover.

  5. Trump commercials during the Democratic debate? Isn’t that why the airlines don’t show disaster movies on their flights? You just don’t do that. There’s a reason you don’t do that. The passengers on planes would become agitated, just like viewers of the debate will throw things at their screens when Trump’s mug appears.

    5
  6. This is what I’ve talked about. Ideas. Expressed. The more the better. This is awesome.

    6
  7. Jane & PKM says:

Cancel two candidates. John Delaney looked every bit as “canned” as did Tim Kaine in the 2016 VP debates with the too eager to interrupt others with his prepared one liners. As a white male, I BEG Tim Ryan to drop out first thing tomorrow morning. White males and the rest of America do not need a little white boy to represent us.

    7
  8. AK Lynne says:

My take on Delaney and Ryan were pretty much the same as Jane & PKM. As for Delaney, I sincerely wanted to stuff a sock in his mouth.

  9. Grandma Ada says:

I was impressed with Warren but she answered questions easily and concisely. I haven’t heard Castro much but also thought he did very well.

    9
  10. Ted in Austin says:

Big mistake scheduling this debate opposite the final game of the College World Series ( congratulations Vanderbilt!). Fortunately, Trevor Noah and Stephen Colbert are both live tonight to summarize the clown show from Miami.

    10
  11. When ever ryan kept babbleing about the “forgotten” working class I wanted somebody to ask if he was specific on just supporting the white working class.
How about the forgotten people of color who have yet to get their chance, or women or any other minority.
To me he seemed to only care about the “white” working class who helped the 1% oppress everyone less for so long and now are complaining that the whip hand has been taken away from them.

    11
  12. Saw an interview with Julio Castro when he was mayor of San Antonio. I was really impressed. A Texan with common sense.
I think he is refreshingly smart.

  13. COmtnLady says:

The most important thing to keep in mind is defeating the evil Snacilbuper and Dolt 45. Under NO circumstances can we bad-mouth ANY other Dem. Too often we turn into a circular firing squad and damage our own credibility.

This is a job interview for cleaning up the worst mess the USA has ever been in. We need to “interview” these applicants with the highest qualification being competently defeating Dolt45 and the ones supporting him. Its life or death.

    That said ~

Castro attacked Beto (we can’t do that – there’s too much the other side has done and IS that is much more important to shoot down), and several of the applicants are not going to do much more than waste their funds (as mentioned above).

We do not have the luxury of getting this one wrong.

[Especially since an 11 year old hacked a model of Florida’s voting machines in ten minutes again …]

  14. Linda Phipps says:

I ended up being distracted by an NPR showing of a wonderful documentary about the Amazon, so I “missed” the debates. I was impressed with Castro long ago and that has not changed. I absolutely agree with the comments above: that there is a great roster of smart people who would benefit the country in cabinet positions (thank you Jane and PKM) and certainly liked the assessment that they did not waste time blasting Trump. Whoever comes out on top, and second place for that matter, deserves our wholehearted support with no (name)-bot distraction.

    14
  15. Linda Phipps says:

Should be PBS, not NPR. Same difference, both appeal to our intelligent selves.

    15
  16. cgregory says:

Just remember: The Koch brothers are now funding NPR. Keep your critical faculties well-honed!

    16
  17. WA Skeptic says:

Why aren’t some of these people running for the Senate?? They would be great in legislative positions, and finally take down The Turtle.

    17
  18. lazrgrl says:

Spouse: These “Brady Bunch” panels make it sound more like American Idol than a presidential decision.

    18
  19. SteveTheReturned says:

Chuck Todd sucks. That is all.

    19
  20. I’m with WA Skeptic, in the back of mind, I keep asking myself, why aren’t you running for Senate? And if they are currently Senators or Representatives, which party gets to pick the replacement? Sorry, but I have to admit, it’s something I think about.

    20
  21. Joe Hill says:

Ryan looked like he was going to soil himself; he clearly needs to go back to Ohio and concentrate on re-election. Gabbard washed the floor with him.

    21
  22. Adam Eran says:

For the “let’s all hold hands and sing ‘Kumbaya'” crowd… Without dissent, democracy promises only a coronation, not an election. We’ve been there and done that. How’d it work out? (https://twitter.com/eshaLegal/status/943234477156945920)

Dissent is essential. It’s a part of the process. If you want people to line up, sign up and re-enlist, then emigrate to a monarchy.

The line of argument that says Democratic dissenters cost Hillary the presidency ignores too many of the corporate D’s sins for me to buy it (see Thomas Frank’s “Listen Liberal: Whatever Happened to the Party of the People” for a disturbing list of the ways D’s have betrayed their FDR constituents).

Gore lost by a few hundred votes, and 300,000 Florida Democrats either stayed home or voted for Bush…but it’s Nader’s fault! Yeah right!

Now all I’ve got to do is say “Bernie Sanders” a million times to make up for his omission by the (corporate) press.

    22
  23. weakgrip says:

Gabbard and Booker upped their stock with me, lowering was Beto. Only one person derided Trump, but it galls me that, if you don’t speak ill of the President when he is out of the country, why the democrats scheduled the debate when Trump was out of the country.

    23
  24. Jane & PKM says:

Nothing wrong with culling the herd of dead weight. Rep Tulsi Gabbard earned points from us for taking down moronic Tim Ryan during the debate. But she lost MAJOR points for the steady stream of Russian bots who weighed in on her behalf in a number of on-line polls after the debate. Watched one poll last night where Senator Warren’s early 58% lead in the poll steadily tanked as Tulsi’s numbers climbed.

The bots are working this election. So beware the concern trolls at other sites. The WMDBS is very fortunate to have Ms. Juanita Jean Herownself and the tech talent to protect us from the worst of it.

    24
  25. Gabbard is a whack job.
Ask about vote to allow veterans suffering from PTSD and other issues to be able to keep all their guns.Or why she adores assad so much
Or why she interveiwed with syphilitic don for a job just after the theft of the white house.
Or why she votes for doddering donnie’s agenda more then 50% of the time.
Or what position she plans to give her cult leader Chris Butler ( truly a Cult leader. homophobic, authoritarian etc. a Buddhist in the same way that the Westboro Baptist Church is christian) if she gets elected.

    25
  26. Mary Beth says:

I agree with K re Gabbard. My school was attacked by Westboro for teaching sex education. They made a trip to Hawaii (not to the school, which was so remote they probably couldn’t find it). They carried wonderful signs which I won’t repeat. Her father and mother converted to democat since he couldn’t get anything done as repugs in Hawaii. Doesn’t change the skunk to dress it in silk. Yes she may have “evolved”, but I don’t trust her.
