Come On, Nevada

Oh hell, no.

They wanted volunteers to sign NDAs.  Volunteers. What the hell?

One guy refused to sign and his job was taken away.  Although now state party officials say they did this in 2018, the guy says he worked in 2018 and was never given an NDA to sign.  And now the state party says the NDA are not required.  They are done voluntarily.

Asked if volunteers who signed the agreements would be sued if they talk to the media or others about the caucus experience, he stressed the NDA is voluntary.

Look Democrats, if you’re looking for someone to emulate, don’t pick Donald Trump.  Donald Trump is a bad guy.

  1. Testing for Stupor Tuesday? Or fraud on the fly? Wait… Involuntary Indenture?

  2. OK. I agree, JJ. This is weird!

  3. An NDA isn’t valid if they try to keep you from testifying about any illegal activities.

    3
  4. Bloomberg and many corporations use NDAs as well.

Don’t be surprised that Boss Tweet just uses obfuscation more/better…

  5. Time for a chat with William McCurdy II. Bill really isn’t that st00pid and we didn’t think he was naïve. We do sign our caucus ballots and there are spaces for one’s e-mail and cellphone numbers.^^ That information can be protected without having volunteers sign generic NDAs. Or we could omit that data altogether. There are better ways and the IQ4.5*/Bloomberg models are not the democratic and Democratic ways. ( ^^ will be double “checking” to confirm no ballots were invalidated because people have the right not to give up their personal contact information and those items are not mandatory.)

fwiw In the last two caucuses there is always the one or two volunteers who go a little Napoleon with perceived or genuinely mistaken power. But they are handled; the instructions for the process are written and not subject to interpretation by them.

TTYL Time to join the queue wanting to speak to Bill on his cell.

  6. In the FWIW column, this is “fixable.” Because NV had purchased the same soap as IA then cast it out close to our caucus date, there was a mad dash to enlist more volunteers to accommodate the hand counts. There may be a training issue due to the mad scramble. Thorough investigations are good, complaints are relevant; otherwise improvements are not made. Conversely nothing good ever comes from denial or a cover-up.

  7. OT– Are y’all watching the economic stats/ markets?
All global market indices are in a steep freefall. US ones are down 3.2-4%, the DJIA is off almost 1000 points in just a few hours.

Crude oil price is crashing, down almost 5% so far, falling through $50/bbl shortly.
And the gold price is way up, 1.6%. Gold has been steadily advancing for weeks, an ominous economic sign.
This could be a momentous day.

The pundits are blaming the strong possibility of a Covid-19 -pandemic-.

I suspect that this is one of those situations where having to litigate to assert your legal right is the actual consequence that forestalls most people from trying to use their rights.

  9. What’s with Nancy Pelosi propping up Henry Cuellar? He is a
Tea Party darling and votes with the Repubs. Is she afraid of Ocasio-Cortez?

    9
  10. Juanita Jean Herownself says:

I dunno, Carolyn, I’m kinda stunned about that myself. Cuellar needs to go. He must be in serious trouble for her to come. It hurts her brand badly and I’m not sure it helps Cuellar’s brand all that much in his district. Weird deal, right? Cuellar makes my skin crawl. I really can’t be in the same room with him.
