Michele WHO?

December 01, 2011 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I have warned people time and time again – stoopid is contagious.  Michele Bachmann stood next to Rick Perry at the last debate and they infected each other.  The result is a guy who doesn’t know when the election is and a woman who doesn’t know …. well, squat.

Bless her heart, she wants to shut down our embassy in Iran.

Customer Kellybee says this is from the “It’s A Good Thing She Doesn’t Have A Snowball’s Chance Of Winning” Department.

He adds, “While she’s at it, she might as well close down our embassies on Mars, Tattooine and Vulcan, too…never trusted those Vulcans.”

Dude, That’s Your Base You’re Trashin’

Rick “Mr. 2%” Perry has decided that it’s time to get serious about winning the Presidency so he’s launched OCT – Occupy Crazy Town.

Rick has decided that bankers, you know, his base, should go to freekin’ jail.

In an apparent attempt to revive his campaign, Perry has decided that espousing anti-bank populism is the right approach. Perry said in a speech in New Hampshire today that the bankers who wrecked the economy should be thrown in jail and that he opposes executives at bailed out banks receiving bonuses.

Well, talk about arriving late.  Here’s ole Rick riding the caboose on the Obvious Train.

Rick says the solution is to pass a balanced budget amendment.  Nobody seems to understand how that would work.  It’s kinda like saying the solution to weeds in your lawn is to serve shrimp for dinner.  But it doesn’t matter – it’s all just bumper stickers anyway.

Somebody named Oliver sent me a link that I enjoyed this morning:  Why Republicans Embrace Simpletons and How it Hurts America.   It’s funny but oh so true.

Thanks to Stephen and Oliver for the heads-up.

When Shooting a Squirrel in Your Pants

There’s a lesson to this story that many politicians need to learn.

A Benton County sheriff’s officer says a 36-year-old Monroe man told deputies he was startled by a squirrel that ran up his left leg so he fired at it but hit his foot instead.

Sheriff’s Capt. Greg Ridler tells the Corvallis Gazette-Times that deputies contacted Ethan Bennett at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and learned the story of the gunshot wound.

Ridler said Bennett did not kill the squirrel.

Bennett was treated and released.

He declined to comment about the Nov. 23 incident.

Declining comment was the smartest thing he did all day.

Okay, Girl, Becoming a Republican Was Your First Mistake

December 01, 2011 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Republican District Court Judge Suzanne Wooten in McKinney, Texas (which is dangerously close to Dallas) was convicted of felony bribery over campaign donations.

Suzanne Wooten: She plays like the boys

It seems that one of the parties in a high dollar divorce settlement in Wooten’s court made $150,000 in payments to Wooten’s campaign manager, who then washed it in the washing machine and  gave it to Wooten’s campaign fund.   Oddly, there’s laws in Texas against that.  Hard to believe, huh?

Pay to play is trickle down crime from the Governor’s office in Texas.

She got 10 years probation, a $10,000 fine and 1,ooo hours of community service.  I’ve always wondered why the fine isn’t at least equal to the money taken.  I mean, it seems that a $10,000 fine for taking $150,000 is better odds than Vegas gives.

Not oddly, she can continue to practice law until the State Bar reviews her case.  Even if she’s disbarred, she “could still work as a mediator, a paralegal or in other areas related to the practice of law.”

Thanks to Mike for the heads up.
