Where the Hell Is MY Gift?

November 14, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Well hell.

In a conference call on Wednesday afternoon with his national finance committee, Mr. Romney said that the president had followed the “old playbook” of wooing specific interest groups — “especially the African-American community, the Hispanic community and young people,” Mr. Romney explained — with targeted gifts and initiatives.

Where’s my damn pony, by gawd?

Thanks to Dawn for the heads up.

Louie Gohmert.

Just when you thought there was a limit to insanity, Louie Gohmert starts waving a rake around in the air to dove hunt.

And just when you thought that Newt Gingrich commenting on the Petraeous affair was lower than a snake’s navel in a wagon rut, Gohmert meets Gingrich, resulting in that colossal light show brought by the strange chemical reaction of Axe Body Spray and little balls on brains falling on the floor.

Louie Gohmert nominated Newt Gingrich for Speaker of the House.

Gohmert’s unexpected move came during an otherwise routine process of reelecting Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) as speaker. When it came time for nominations to the top post, Gohmert stood up and said he supported having Gingrich back in the slot. Gingrich was speaker from 1995 to 1999, but hasn’t been in Congress since.

And then with no hint of a guilty conscience, some reporter writes ….

It’s unclear what kind of message Gohmert was trying to send by floating Gingrich’s name. A Gohmert spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Dude, it’s a cry for help!  A desperate, pleading, drooling, first cousin marrying cry for help.  That’s the message he was sending:  Come get me and bring a rake.

Send In The Clowns

Some of our kind of people in Charlotte, North Carolina, heard there was going to be a white supremacy rally.

Some of our kind of people in Charlotte, North Carolina, taught the white supremacists that anyone can fly, but it’s the landing that will get you.

A white supremacist rally in North Carolina took a funny turn when protesters were outnumbered five to one by red-nosed, squeaky toyed clowns.

The rally, which took place in Charlotte over the weekend, was refreshingly small, with only about 50 protesters who comprised both the National Socialist Movement and the local KKK. More newsworthy were the counter protesters, who drowned out the hate group with horns and squeaky toys. Every time the protesters chanted, “White Power,” the clowns filled the air with white flour. One counter protester held a sign saying “Wife Power.”

There a video over here that you really need to watch.

Eric the Cantor

November 14, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You know how all the Republicans over on Fox News are whacking squalling that we need a damn investigation of everything that has happened in the past 4 years?

Well, how about a little Eric Cantor investigation?

I do not want to speculate what Cantor was doing playing footsie with an FBI agent who likes to send shirtless pictures of himself around, but whatever Cantor was doing, it wasn’t pretty.

Cantor’s inappropriate meddling into an FBI investigation for opportunistic political purposes — likely aimed at influencing an election — simply failed.  Cantor took the risk of assisting a rogue FBI agent to make an end run around his superiors, without even informing his fellow Republicans on the Hill.  He thought he would end up a GOP hero, but he really just looks as seedy as the whole lamentable saga.

If this mess gets any more tawdry and goofy, Disney is going to have to team with Larry Flint to make the movie.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

A Real Confederacy of Dunces

November 14, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Thank you to all of you who have offered to let me come to your blue state if Texas secedes.  I do appreciate it.  I guess I’ll have to fight for my homeland.

One of my favorite books is a fiction work titled “A Confederacy of Dunces” by John Kennedy Toole.  The book has nothing to do with politics but a lot to do with people entirely detached from reality.  Much like today’s Republican Party.

Dana Milbank calls them The Confederacy of Takers.

Red states receive, on average, far more from the federal government in expenditures than they pay in taxes. The balance is the opposite in blue states. The secession petitions, therefore, give the opportunity to create what would be, in a fiscal sense, a far more perfect union.

The ones who want out are the ones who take most.

Now, I’m not saying we should let them go.

Okay, quit booing.

I am saying that they need to be reminded that there are worse things than having a black President.  Starving in the cold with no health insurance might be one of them.

They are silly people with silly ideas.  Don’t be outraged.  Be amused.  And when they get on your last nerve, grin to yourself and think how things will get worse for them — once they realize that the Presidency is going to a woman in 4 years.
