Winkie Check

The Supremes are going to decide if the government needs to check your private parts before you get married.

Let me just remind everybody that marriage equality has a higher approval rating from the American public than any Republican official, Congress in general, and ironically, the Supreme Court.

Louie Gohmert has a new theory.

What was all the rage a year and a half ago? It was the Arab Spring and how wonderful it was! And this administration really embraced blowing out Mubarak – yes, do it up by all means – getting rid of Qaddafi. It wasn’t enough to send verbal accolades, this administration sent planes and bombs and support to oust Qaddafi so that al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood could take over Libya.

Yeah, and Obama killed Osama bin Laden just to throw you off his scent. Diabolical.

Thanks to Marcia for the heads up.

Hey, All You Mitches, Count the Votes

Mitch McConnell is overflowing with memory problems.

“By demanding the power to raise the debt limit whenever he wants by as much as he wants, [President Obama] showed what he’s really after is assuming unprecedented power to spend taxpayer dollars without any limit,” McConnell argued on the Senate floor.

This sounds awfully sinister. But it’s a knowing misreading of the Constitution, which provides Congress and only Congress the power to spend money.

Scary Barack Obama is going to barbeque the constitution and dine on the souls of our forefathers.  To viciously fight this hideous act, Mitch McConnell is countering with foam from his mouth.

Holy crap.  Somebody hand McConnell a copy of the Constitution and Kleenex or something.

Okay, kids, we must have been very good this year

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) isn’t necessarily dismissing a future run to replace outgoing Sen. Jim DeMint, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday:

“It’s not a ‘no,’ but it’s not a ‘yes,’ ” Mr. Sanford said.

The “love guv” is best known nationally for the embarrassing disclosure in 2009 of an extramarital affair, after he was intercepted at the airport flying back from Argentina – after aides had claimed he was hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Oh y’all, this is way better than a pony.

Thanks to Sybil for the heads up.

Goodness Gracious

Okay, a bunch of folks are banning together to make a community – here,  I’ll let them talk

The Citadel is a developing community of Patriots in the mountains of Idaho who believe in Jefferson’s Rightful Liberty and have chosen to live amongst one another, who have sworn their Lives, their Fortunes and their Sacred Honor to defend one another and Liberty.

Oh, yes.  These guys are deadass serious.  So this looks like a prime location for all those Texans who want to secede.

The cornerstone of the Citadel is III Arms Company, an industry to support the first wave of Patriots who will become modern American Pioneers. We will build Fighting Arms and ammunition for Patriots and around us a town will begin to grow. Other revenue streams are already in the works. Our intent is to purchase at least one thousand acres, and construct a walled town of at least one square mile to withstand any potential violence from hungry, diseased Souls. Obviously the Citadel is not being built to defy any laws of the United States or the State of Idaho, or to withstand any .gov or .mil attack. Our fortifications are merely defensive for a SHTF world.

A hoard of deranged paranoid people locked inside a mile long wall with a bunch of guns.   Oh hell, what could possibly go wrong?

Thanks to Robert for the heads up.

Y’all, He’s from Texas. He Can’t Count Real Good.

I want y’all to meet Jeb Hensarling, a Republican congressman from the Texas 5th congressional district.  He ain’t terribly bright so that’s probably why you’ve never heard of him.

What, Me Worry Hensarling

Well, Jeb tried to take on Soledad O’Brien while she was committing journalism.  First  off, Jeb could not for the life of himself explain in simple English why he was against a tax cut for the middle class and why he wouldn’t go along on raising taxes on the richest 2%.

Soledad pointed out that was President Obama’s platform and he got elected on that platform and so maybe that’s what the people want.

Ole Jeb got his feathers ruffled up  on that one and spouted off ….

HENSARLING: The President won 51-49. He has an electoral college victory. It’s good enough to get him re-elected but not enough to give him a mandate.

Where did this 51-49 come from?

Ya know, as I recall, Obama’s victory was much larger than Dubya’s but Jeb thought Dubya had a mandate.  Maybe that was only in Texas.

Thanks to Carl for the heads up.
