If You Would Just Quit Calling It Obamacare ….

October 08, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Darrell Issa, the California Republican, has responded to the Democratic call for Republicans to come up with a plan to insure Americans.

Here’s the cool part:  It is exactly like Obamacare.

Seriously.  It’s the same damn plan.

issa-1

Business Insider, certainly no liberal publication, explains that for Issa’s plan to work, it has to have the “free market” protections included under Obamacare.

So, this means that Republicans want to replace Obamacare with …. Obamacare.  Except they want to name it Issacare, Boehnercare, Mitchcare, or Cruz … no, wait, nobody wants to name it that, even Republicans.

You know, they are the ones who came up with the the name Obamacare.  And they better hope it tastes good when they have to eat it.

Thanks to Andrew for the heads up.

C-SPAN Develops a Sense of Humor

October 07, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Louie Gohmert takes to the House floor at least once a week to deliver a Cicero-like oration on how he loves Uhmerca and you don’t, dammit.

These speeches even bore the C-SPAN cameraman and …

C-SPAN cameras rarely do this kind of stuff so we need to realize how totally insane Louie truly is.

However, there advantages to being insane.  Other insane people want you to run for Senate.

For several days now, Glenn Beck has been leading a campaign to convince Rep. Louie Gohmert to launch a primary challenge against Republican Senator John Cornyn in Texas. Today, Gohmert called into Beck’s radio program where Beck told Gohmert that he had been praying on the question and the answer that he heard from God is that Gohmert should run.

Ghomert demurred, saying that he’d need to raise millions of dollars to launch such a challenge, which prompted Beck to tell him that he should not worry about that since God will provide all the funding he would need because “we live in a time of miracles.”

“You are the guy,” Beck assured him. “As long as we’re on God’s side, who could stand against us?”

Who, indeed.

I’m all pissed off at God.  He never gives me political oracles.  Maybe I need a stronger drug regimen.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Fun With Guns: Tennessee Walmart Edition

October 07, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Look, it’s not every day that somebody accidentally shoots themselves while inside a Tennessee Walmart …

Wait, I’m pretty sure that’s not right.  It might well be every damn day.

Milk and ammo – a dangerous mix.

Thanks to Carl for the heads up.

The Government Shutdown Does Not Include Ted Cruz’s Mouth

October 07, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

He eats bullets for breakfast so he can shoot off his mouth all day long.

Ted Cruz:  the man who didn’t say what he just said.  On Saturday night in Virginia —

Cruz, who spoke without notes for nearly an hour, said Republicans would win the shutdown fight but offered little in the way of concrete solutions.

But then on Sunday, he denied saying that.

“You talked last night — you were at a Virginia Republican event in Richmond and said Republicans will win this,” Crowley said. “And by that, I believe you meant what you wanted in exchange for a spending bill. What does win this mean to you? What does that have to look like for a Republican victory?”

But the junior senator from Texas denied the premise of Crowley’s question.

“Let me be clear, I didn’t say Republicans will win this,” he said. “Listen, I think career politicians in both parties have been part of the problem. What I said is the American people are going to win.”

Because by “we” and “Republicans” he means the American people.  The Democrats and us are not the American people.  We are teenage mutant zombie turtle communist socialists illegal aliens and probably regular aliens from Mars who hate America and who are not obsessed with Obamacare like we should be.

Polls have shown that Americans overwhelmingly oppose shutting down the government to stop the Affordable Care Act. A Quinnipiac University poll released last week also found that 58 percent are opposed to Congress cutting off funding for the law.

Here’s my opinion.  By “we”, Ted Cruz means himself and three dozen old guys in Florida who want you to get the hell off their lawn.

Pride and Prejudice

October 06, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You knew one of them would finally admit it.  It was like waiting for a soufflé, hoping that whoever finally said it would do it in a great puff of beauty that exceeded the bounds of normal … I dunno, bowls or something.

Thanks you, Dennis Ross

Thank you, Dennis Ross

Dennis Ross, a Republican from Florida, did it.

With the government shutdown in its fifth day, many Republicans have conceded the fight is no longer about Obamacare. Rep. Dennis Ross (R-Fla.) added his name to the list on Saturday, saying the matter now boils down to “pride.”

And then to put a little more butter on that biscuit, Ross even admits that there’s no connection between the shutdown and the funding of Obamacare.

No.  Really?  Somebody alert the media.  (Sarcasm is just one of the many free customer services cheerfully offered at the World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.)

Uncle Melvin used to say that pride ain’t all that hard to swallow once you’ve chewed on it long enough.  I wonder how long it’s gonna take John Boehner.

Dude, There Are People Who Will Still Pose With Anthony Weiner

Ken Cuccinelli thinks he’s too sexy for Ted Cruz.

TedCruz_Airhead_3In the clearest sign yet of the potent effect of the government shutdown on the Virginia governor’s race, Republican Ken Cuccinelli avoided being photographed with Ted Cruz at a gala they headlined here Saturday night—even leaving before the Texas senator rose to speak.

It’s math.  Although Cuccunelli is down 5 points in the Virginia gubernatorial race, Cruz is down to 10 points.  I mean total.  All he’s got is 10 approval points.  Hell, ebola virus has 15 approval percentage points.

Politico also reports that Cruz spoke for 54 minutes, which means his approval rating dropped 3 more points.

If it gets any lower, Louie Gohmert won’t pose with him.  Oh hell, what am I saying?  Cruz could fall in a sewer and Gohmert would jump in for a photo op.

Thanks to Sandra for the heads up and John for the graphic.
