But Once They Got To Know Him …

October 10, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

There’s some happy news tonight

Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) favorability rating has collapsed as the public has become more familiar with him, according to a Gallup survey released on Thursday.

The survey found that 26 percent have a favorable view of the Texas Republican, against 36 percent unfavorable.

Yeah, he’s a great guy until he opens his smirking mouth.

Tedcruz_Terrorist_2I suspect that the American people are just a little tired of the Canadian man who will not shut up about Obamacare.

He is perfectly willing to destroy the United States to  get his face on the front of a news magazine.

He pretty much pulled the plug on tranquility.   Being all smoke and no fire kinda took the sparkle off his halo and it will be a cold day in hell before even another Republican trusts him.  And, in my opinion, that’s about a decade too soon.

It was kinda fun to see him flame out so fast!

He’s gone, Darlin’, but he won’t be forgotten.

Thanks to John for the cool graphic.

They Give Me a Damn Headache

October 10, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, let’s say your name is Greg Collett and you’re a 41-year-old software developer living in Caldwell, Idaho, and you’re not making much money but you have 10 kids.  Why would you oppose Obamacare?

“I don’t think that the government should be involved in health care or health insurance,” says Greg Collett, a 41-year-old software developer in Caldwell, Idaho, who would rather pay the fine for now — $95 the first year — than signup….

Collett, who is married and has 10 children, says the kids are covered by Medicaid, the joint state-federal health insurance plan for people with low income and children who are not covered.

Wait.  Wait.  Wait a damn minute.  Is there something crazy about that?  His 10 kids are covered by Medicaid but he doesn’t think government should be involved in health care?

His rationalization?  He homeschools his kids so he saves the government money there.

No. I. Am. Not. Kidding.

Collett, whose children are home-schooled, likens taking Medicaid to sending children to public school. He also does not approve of government-funded public schools. “The government is taking your money. They are spending it on things they shouldn’t be,” he says. “Trying to get whatever you can back — I have nothing against that. You have to at some point try and get your tax dollars back.”

Oh, so he’s just getting even.  I get it.  No, wait.  I could be wrong about that.  If his kids qualify for Medicaid, does he even pay taxes?

Collett says that he’ll pay the $95 fine for not getting Obamacare until it increases so much that “it makes economic sense” for him to go ahead and get it.  Oh yeah, economic sense.  This guy is just full of economic sense.  Has the Nobel Prize for economics been handed out yet because this guy could be a contender.

I think we’ve found that “low information voter” I keep hearing about.

His 10 kids are covered under Medicaid so screw everyone else’s kids who might make enough not to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to afford health insurance.

Greg thinks everybody else should be forced to live by his philosophy to make up for the fact that he doesn’t.  There ya go — the typical tea partier.

They make my head hurt.

Thanks to Carl for the heads up.

Greg Abbott and the Seuss

October 10, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Greg Abbott on Tuesday

“Women are going to be a powerful voice in this election,” Abbott said. “I’m proud to say there is nobody in the state of Texas who has done more to fight to help women than I have in the past decade.”

Nobody?  Really?

Our customer John A. Kwitkoski thinks not.

Uh, Could You Define “Managed Catastrophe” Please

October 09, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It must be Scary Okie Day at The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.

Listen to this calm disaster from Tom Coburn …

“I’d rather have a managed catastrophe now which I don’t think will be there,” Coburn told CNN’s ‘New Day’ with Chris Cuomo. “I’m not saying we shouldn’t pay our bills. What I’m saying is we should put ourselves in a position where we have to start making hard choices now.”

Now, I do not know what Coburn means by mild catastrophe, but I suspect it means that I starve while he eats just fine.

Yeah, I’ve seen how Republicans manage catastrophes.  Katrina, anyone?   Catching Obama bin Laden?  Lowering the national debt?  Oh yeah, I’ve seen their disaster management, so catastrophe management scares the peewaadoddle outta me.

Yeah, I got that.  My catastrophe, his management.  Then the little twit calls himself, “the most apolitical person in the Senate.”  There ain’t a crap wagon big enough to haul that sludge to the dump.

Thanks to Aggieland Liz for the heads up.

Senator Lindsey Graham Says That Without the Towel Boys During the Shutdown, The Senate Gym Smells “Rank.” That’s Not All That Stinks, Senator

October 09, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Oh the humanity!

During the shutdown, the House and the Senate Gyms, which are considered essential, don’t have towel service and are expected to – oh dear God – reuse towels.

Do you want to know why the gyms are considered essential when cutting checks to the families of dead service members is not?

“This job is very stressful and if you don’t have a place to vent, you are going to go crazy and that’s why I’ve used it all these years,” said Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), who has used the facility since 1973.

Don Young, listen to me!  It didn’t work.  You’re crazy as a bullfrog in a tack factory.

These guys make 170,000 a year and they are not working right now because we don’t have a damn government.  You would think they could bring towels from home.

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.
