Foot in Mouth Disease

September 23, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Hell, even people in foreign states know that Texas women are being asked to fetch the beer and shuddup by the Republican Party of Damn Texas.  Wanna know how many hooter toters they have on their statewide ticket?  The same amount of Baptists wearing funny hats at the Vatican. As in zero. None. Nada. A couple less than two.

It’s only Tuesday and they’ve hit us twice this week already.

In separate appearances, a Republican political consultant called the low number of rape and incest victims a “minor issue” in the abortion debate, and GOP lieutenant governor candidate Dan Patrick dismissed the idea that government should be involved in pay disparity issues for women.

Tell me, Dan the Man, who exactly would be in charge of pay disparity issues?  You got your choice, son.  It can either be government or me with a big stick.  I think government would be your safer choice here.

Yeah, THIS guy.

Yeah, THIS guy.

And then we have this, the words of a man about rape and incest.

In an appearance on Lone Star Politics on KXAS-TV (NBC5), GOP consultant Matt Mackowiak was asked about Greg Abbott’s belief that abortion should be outlawed, even in cases of rape and incest.

“We can get into minor issues that are one or two percent of the problem, but ultimately Texas is a strong pro-life state,” Mackowiak said.

When challenged whether victims of those crimes would consider it minor, Mackowiak clarified, “It’s minor in terms of the percentage of the cases.”

Hell, rape itself does happen to you all that often either, Matt.  Wanna legalize that?

You know what this is?  This is caca del toro.

Do you know what you get when you mix testosterone with cheap Aqua Velva and a heap of ego?  The Texas Republican Party.

If they let people with guns into the capitol, they are gonna have to let me in with roach spray.

Is This a Republican Race To The Dumb?

Republican Donald Trump – I love saying that – made a political prognostication.

He dove head first into the tweets:

Speaker?  Really?  You sure ’bout that?

And trust me, if Mitch gets $’s, it’s going in Mitch’s pocket, not Kentucky’s?

Our friend Kary is inlvovely Syracuse, New York.  He had to drop by a mall to get his glasses fixed.

Sadly, the mall had an art store.

Does anybody have a guess of what this is about?  I do, but it’s creepy to say it. I mean, a black lizard?

Louie or Not Louie

September 22, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Stephen F. Austin State University is nestled against the pine trees in deep east Texas.  It’s a pretty campus and it used to be surprisingly enlighten for being behind what we call The Pine Curtain.

22571906_BG1There’s been an incident at Stephen F Austin University pitting their art gallery director and Louie Gohmert in a battle of intellectual curiosity.

This week, a United States District Judge refused to grant summary judgement in favor of the university. Here’s the meat of the matter.

Christian Cutler, then of Nacogdoches, brought the suit in October of 2011. His claim is that he was asked to take part in an art show hosted by Rep. Louie Gohmert in Tyler. Cutler said he declined the invitation because his political views were not aligned with Gohmert’s. He believes he was fired in September of 2010 because the university was politically motivated to make an example of him, having learned that he offended Gohmert.

The university and Louie Gohmert say that’s not true.

So here I sit, trying to decide if I believe Louie Gohmert or anybody who is not Louie Gohmert.

And Louie did get a word in.

“[Cutler] is traveling around the country, misrepresenting what he promised, and that he let his politics get in the way of not only keeping his promise, but also doing what was good for the university,” Gohmert said.

Okay, so I’m trying to figure out if Louie is talking about Cutler or himself.  See, this sounds a whole lot like what Louie does every day.  I’m sure you can understand my confusion.

Thanks to Mary for the heads up.

This. This Is What I’m Talking About.

Our friend Karen sent me article with the headline  —

— about how 25% of people in this country would like to secede and rely on state government.

Mostly, they are folks who have Confederate Dollars.

Let me give you an example of crapola.  This is one of the 25% talking —

“I don’t think it makes a whole lot of difference anymore which political party is running things. Nothing gets done,” said Roy Gustafson, 61, of Camden, South Carolina, who lives on disability payments. “The state would be better off handling things on its own.”

Roy lives on disability payments.  Arrrgggghhhhhh!

President Nikki Haley

President Nikki Haley

Oh yeah, Nikki Haley would certain allow the state of South Carolina take over disability payments.  Hell, Nikki Haley turned down Medicaid money.  But Bozo Roy thinks he’ll fare better under South Carolina?  He thinks they’ll pay his social security and health care?

Roy!  Dammit!  Is your disability in your thinkin’ mechanism?

I do not understand people who don’t have a pot to poop in but vote Republican.

Thanks to Karen for the heads up.

Kinda Good News

I told you about the Los Angeles Unified School District loading up on war machinery.

Well, there’s been a slight change of heart.

The 40mm less-lethal weapons (referred to in the media as grenade launchers) are not essential life-saving items within the scope, duties and mission of the Los Angeles School Police Department. We at the Los Angeles School Police Department (LASPD) would not utilize this weapon within a school environment. These three weapons will be removed from our equipment inventory.

So, they are giving back the grenade launchers.  However, the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles stay.  You never know when somebody is going to plant mine on the playground.

Yep – they are keeping the muscle cars.

You never know.

Thanks to Scott for the heads up.
