“Saying I’m sorry I got caught is not an inspiring plea for leniency.” – Judge in Manafort trial

    Jackson slams Manafort –

“It is hard to overstate the number of lies and the amount of fraud and the extraordinary amount of money involved” in Manafort’s crimes.

She says there is “no explanation” from Manafort that would warrant the leniency he has requested.

Document sweep. Super size the vacuum. Odds are that nearly every ‘business’ deal involving Manafort has potential to be charged under one of the fraud statutes. The thought of some time in a Manhattan facility may loosen Little Paulie’s lips. He has to know the Russians can reach him there.

Is that sentence concurrent with the one he got the other day, or is it to be served afterwards? Either way, it’s not enough.

    @ WA Skeptic

Yes to concurrent. No to not enough. However, the fact of NY picking up the torch which will char the pardon party plans of Cheeto.

By the way, A purported “pee pee” tape of Judge T.S. Ellis NOT enjoying his cornflakes has been found to be unsubstantiated at this hour.

Make that YES to not enough.. by far.

  9. Jane & PKM says:

WA Skeptic, the 60 month sentence today runs concurrent with the 30 month EDVA sentence. Then there was a 13 month sentence that is to run consecutive. Or, six years, 1 month total minus time, etc.

  16. Bob Evans says:

Problem with the NY charges is that the Supremes now have before them a case (can’t recall the name right now) that deals with double jeopardy when both federal and state charges are involved. It MAY have a big effect on what is now going on with the NY charges pending against Manaport. Time will tell. But with the conservative tilt of the Supremes, this could be a big deal.
