Blink if you need help

A report came out recently about Lindsay Graham’s testimony to the Georgia grand jury. You are more than free to go down that rabbit hole if you like, but it will lead you to the same place we have been with all of these folks. They are on board and loyal until they aren’t. Usually that either entails them being fired or pushed out, but occasionally it happens when one of them finds themselves in legal hot water.

In the case of Graham, he spent months fighting off the Georgia district attorney. You couldn’t compel a sitting senator to testify. Donald Trump had immunity. He had immunity. His mee-maw needed him to wash her feet. He was due for a casting call at his community theater. Okay, maybe the last two were made up, but you get the general idea.

It wasn’t the testimony itself that was remarkable. We knew the truth and have always known the truth. I’m not crawling in the head space of any of his voters. I don’t know what they think they know and quite frankly I’m afraid to find out. However, I am reasonably certain that over 90 percent of those within the GOP that serve in office know exactly who he is and what he is capable of. They also know what he isn’t capable of.

For Graham, it was the reaction afterwards that was remarkable. He almost literally hugged Fani Willis in the hall outside the court room. He thanked her for allowing him to speak and get all of this off of his chest. So, let’s put some things together. He fought them tooth and nail to avoid testifying. He bad-mouthed them in the press and called the whole thing a sham. Then, he went under oath and confirmed everything they had said and even thanked them for the opportunity to say it. Just try to form your brain around that collection of facts.

One could be forgiven if they felt a desire to hitch their ride onto someone powerful. I can see it. Maybe there is a position in the cabinet for you. Maybe you can get on the most exclusive of golf courses or eat in the most exclusive restaurants. You get to stay at expensive resorts and live a life of luxury. Hell, you may even convince yourself you can do good by being in a position of authority. You can slide some good policy underneath the door when he’s not looking.

Yet, there is usually some loyalty that goes both ways in that situation. If I watch your back and run interference for you then you will do the same for me. That never happens in Trump’s case and it never has. That has been very public since 2015, but if you look hard enough you can see examples dating back to the 1970s. Everyone that deals with him personally describes this.

So, for those few demented or broken souls that know all of this and choose to flock to him anyway, we need to develop a distress signal. Maybe they can blink excessively or touch their nose in violent fashion. Give us a signal when you are in too deep and need someone to rescue you from your own avarice. On the other hand, staffers are already likely punching their nose because of his offensive odor. So, maybe they can grab their wrist or tug on their ear. I’m open to suggestions.

Be social and share!

Thank you, Nick Carraway, for holding this space.

But Juanita Jean’s fans are worried about her, because we haven’t heard from her in ages. Is she OK? Will she be back soon? We love her and we miss her!

  2. Never could figure out this guy. Not who is he. What is he? Credible? Honorable? Maybe even forgiveable? Read somewhere that he is actually a foster parent of a family member. Can you imagine someone like him actually “parenting?” Phew! This is too much of too much! Thats why I have always had a picture in my head of him at home watering the paper flowers.

Too late for mercy. Leningrad Lindsey or any of the tools who were within 100 yards of tRump and did not know what he was are absolute fools. Back in 2015 via Morton C. Blackwell who allowed TFG into the RNC primaries when no one else wanted Donnie there, layered the grease on the rails of the RNC trainwreck.

Lordy. A cursory google of Donald J. Trump would have provided them with a major nyet clue. Ride the tiger, spider and the frog, or as Ms. JJ herownself would say: dog dump stupid.

Not sure what’s more pungent here, a Lindsey who is a flip flopper chameleon or someone we already know smells up the world.

For reasons I have never understood, Lindsey Graham has always been a follower of stronger people during his Congressional career. He latched on to John McCain, and when McCain died, hitched his wagon to Donald Trump. Maybe Trump has something on him, the way so many people speculate that Putin has on Trump. If that’s so, Sen. Graham couldn’t very well denounce Trump in public without retaliation; but maybe the remnants of the JAG lawyer he used to be rejoiced in being under oath and compelled to tell the truth, finally. At least, I hope so.

  6. I once thought that Combover Crime Lord could write a book entitled “Profiles in Cowardice.” After all, he had all the data he would ever need. But then I remembered his literacy level…

As for Leningrad Lindsey, once he pledged to tell the truth he ascertained that there exist entities that have more power than the pestilential cheeto.

What remains now is to see where Lindsey goes from here. We can only imagine what a squishy place that will be.

  7. thatotherjean, I have to admit I’ve been thinking along those same lines.
And if that’s true, I have to wonder how long the honesty he was gratefully compelled to exhibit will last.
Because I personally do think trump has something on him.
And I imagine the only way he would continue to spill the goods on
Donny Fuckface (sorry Mama, thanks Jeff Tiedrich) is if he’s ready to retire. And honestly it’s gotten to the point IMHO that anybody who was a MAGA politician now has a credible concern for themselves and family members if they cross the weaselheaded fucknugget (Thanks Scotland!!)

I wonder how long before Lindsay bemoans that “terrible woman” forcing him to testify when he really did not want to. And asking for tRump’s forgiveness.

  9. I would bet the farm that he has already been on his knees, begging to make it right for ferret face. Crying that the mean girls made him do it.

I just saw the first comment in the pending file. I have no information to share at this point. Like you, I would love to have everyone posting here like we have before. I’ll do some checking behind the scenes to see what I can find out.

  14. Nick Carraway says:

Hey everyone, I’m checking in to see what is going on. When there is something I can share I will let everyone know.

Juanita authorized me to send along the following message:

She has been going through some health things lately. She posted more on her Facebook page for those who are her friends. She did not go into specifics just enough to say she hopes she can return soon. The rent on the shop is paid up through the year so I and the other hangers on will do our best to bring you something to talk about.

    16
  17. thatotherjean says:

Thanks, Nick. Please give her our best. As much as we are grateful to you for standing behind the counter while she’s not in the shop, we miss her.

  18. Steve from Beaverton says:

    What thatotherjean said.
When unexpected health issues come up, it shows us what we’ve taken for granted. We, the patrons of the wmdbs (at least me) have taken JJ’s influence in our weekly lives for granted. I say this from personal experience.
Again, Nick, thanks for being there.

    18
  19. Thanks Nick You are doing a great job keeping the JJ group sane.
