Lucky Cuomo. Too bad the rest of us couldn’t be so easily rid of Donnie. Like say exile his butt, but I can’t think of a place on Earth that should be so punished.

  2. so FL is a tax haven for the wealthy? is this the move part of the orange arse’s plan to continue trying to convince us he’s wealthy?

    2
  3. Trump Tower in NY didn’t have a yard. In Florida, he can shake his cold dead fist in the air and yell out the door of Mar-a-lago at no one in particular, “get off my lawn!”

Then, he’ll walk back inside and order some pink flamingos online, but not from Amazon. When they arrive one of the undocumented workers will paint them gold.

  4. Grandma Ada says:

He wants to be closer to his money laundering business.

  5. Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with New York’s investigation of TrumpCo, could it?

  6. maybe this Tuesday he can commit another crime and vote in the NY election

  7. Jane & PKM says:

Malarkey@5, this has more to do with taxes and estate taxes in particular. Greedy slobs over 65 tend to make these moves. The good news is IQ4.5 cannot escape the prosecution for his crimes in NY.

  8. It’s too difficult to get the gun to shoot somebody on the street in NY.

    FL however…

  9. The problem isn’t ‘polarization’ — Republicans have lost their damn minds

    Edit: MAIN STREAM MEDIA

This isn’t about “both sides” acting in an equal manner. It’s about Republicans losing their minds and everyone else, understandably, reacting against that.

The situation is simple: The Republican Party, both its politicians and its voters, has collectively decided that it’s fine for Donald Trump to use his office to run an illegal extortion scheme against a foreign leader in an effort to cheat in the 2020 election. The moral rot of the Republican Party, and its cultist loyalty to a criminal president is the sole reason for this situation. Democrats are — rather too reluctantly! — trying to do something to stop the bleeding.

Nowhere is this more obvious than on the issue of impeachment. There’s not really any middle ground on the issue of using military aid to blackmail a foreign leader into helping you fabricate lies about your political opponent, as the evidence shows Trump clearly did. This isn’t an issue where reasonable people arguing in good faith can disagree. This is a black-and-white, wrong-versus-right issue.

Our mainstream media, with its addiction to “balance” over truth, is manifestly ill-equipped to handle a story where one side is so clearly in the right and the other side is so clearly in the wrong. So reporters and editors hide behind these factual-but-shallow stories that argue the nation is “divided” and “polarized,” all while gently gliding over the fact that the division is happening because 40% of the country has abandoned basic decency while the rest of us look on in horror.

  10. RepubAnon says:

When someone changes their domicile to Florida, it is sometimes a way to shield assets from seizure. Just saying

    10
  11. RepubAnon –
Do you think Trump has any assets in his own name? Or if he does, the sucking sound in D.C. hasn’t been the swamp draining, but a giant suction from new accounts siphoning his liquid holdings into undisclosed locations.

    11
  12. Reasons for move
    1) Homestead excemption in Florida bankruptcy laws no matter decisions or whatever a “home” is untouchable. Ask O.J.
    2) So he can dump Pence and replace him with Ivanka – same as when Cheney changed residence to Montana(Wyoming?) so he could become the twits puppet master. Constitition states both pres. and VP canNOT be from same state.
    3) Delusion that New York law can’t touch hime there for past crimes. Between paid for florida officials and the fact that Florida governor and others benefitted from russian money and interference as much, if not more then he did, the demented one might be expecting extra “legal” cover

    12
  13. It just occurred to me that tRump is now…

    …FLORIDA MAN!!!

    😀 😀 😀

  14. Hold the fricking phone for a moment.

Caligula is a wounded animal fleeing in fear of being cornered. Let that scenario soak in for a moment. He comes up with these schemes and thinks he has outwitted justice. He’s in a panic. His lawyers posit that he could shoot someone and not be accountable. His lawyers are asses. Rudy is an ass. Barr thinks he is astute in all minutiae of law. He is on a fool’s errand and is an ass.

    Edit:
Donald Trump signaled in a trio of Halloween night tweets that criminal investigations into his New York tax and business filings are vexing him. Knowing how Donald’s mind works, my bet is that he just learned he is getting closer to civil lawsuits or indictment

New York law gives prosecutors powerful tools to pursue Trump, as DCReport told readers more than a year ago. And while Trump can exert some control over the federal Justice Department through Attorney General William Barr, a Trump appointee who acts as if he is Trump’s personal lawyer, Trump has no power over state and local prosecutors.

Trump is a man so uncomfortable in his own skin that he cannot keep quiet about what vexes him. His impulsive twitter storms, many in the wee hours, often foreshadow news that breaks days or weeks later.

Making Florida his residence will not save Trump from any tax civil lawsuits, criminal charges or from paying past taxes he owes in New York.

For weeks, his conduct has shown he is terrified of the New York investigations, seeking to shut one down with outlandish claims that he is above the law and cannot be investigated by any prosecutor or Congress so long as he is president.

  15. Personally, I think he knows the end is nigh. Note that he never seems to go to trump tower- and that’s probably because he is reviled in NYC and is no longer invited anywhere. Might as well move to Florida and never leave the compound.

    15
  16. If Trump moves to Florida, it will be his “home” state. He may think it gives him an edge in the 2020 election for their electoral college votes. NY will vote Democratic whether he lives there or not.

    16
  17. Trump heard that the Federal prisons in Florida would be a better fit for him than Sing Sing or Attica .

    17
  18. Jane & PKM @1:
    My vote would be Russia.
Vlad is the original guy who prefers winners.
Luring Trump there would be poetic Justice on an epic scale.
Trump thinks he’s going as a hero
Vlad would parade him around as a puppet.
Hero or dupe, depending on the audience. And every evening some low level assistant would let trump know whether he was Il Duce, or the pathetic slob that shriveled up when the awesome Lady preacher in in Detroit verbally smacked him down.

    18
  19. Wow! There he goes, trading NYC for the sinkholes at Mar a Lago and the constant threat of killer hurricanes! Couldn’t happen to (fill in the blank) guy!

    19
  20. Buttermilk Sky says:

Maybe he’s planning to retire. Florida has been called “God’s waiting room.”

More likely just spite, like banning the NY Times and Washington Post from the White House. He doesn’t understand that staffers can read them on phones and computers — and probably do, if they need a reality check.
