Arizona is Advertising For More White Kids
Arizona Republican State Representative David Stringer addressed the Yavapai County Republican Men’s Forum this week and called immigration an “existential threat” to the United States.
Stringer lamented that “there aren’t enough white kids to go around” in Arizona public schools right now. “Sixty percent of public school children in the state of Arizona today are minorities. That complicates racial integration because there aren’t enough white kids to go around.”
And this is what happens when there aren’t enough white kids …
And when you look at that 60 percent number for public school students, just carry that forward 10 or 15 years. It’s going to change the demographic voting base of this state. And that’s what’s going on around the country. Immigration is politically destabilizing.
You know, just like letting women vote did.
And the next thing you know, a black man might get elected president.

This numbnuts has every right to be worried. With his attitude, he and those like him won’t get elected dogcatcher in Arizona, in about 30 years. Maybe sooner, or so I hope!
1Davy boy, we live in Prince George’s County, Maryland, with a population of nearly a million. Whites have been a minority here for decades. Both of the leading candidates for County Executive are black women. The two-term incumbent, who can’t run again, is a black man who’s running #2 on the Dem side for Governor. We also have a substantial Latino population, and some of them hold county offices.
And you know what? Somehow we survive. Businesses are flourishing, the kids get educated, and we can walk down nearly all of the streets without being robbed, raped, or murdered. You should try it sometime. (And the immigrants gives a lot of great restaurants too.)

3Ironic. At the Yavapai County Republican Men’s Forum old David struts out the racist meme. Guess it was lost on him that Yavapai or “people of the sun” would consider David by his presence to be altering the historical landscape of who belongs in Arizona.
4If Stringer and his racist ilk decreed a white natalist policy like Nicolae Ceausecu did in Romania in the 60s and 70s, it wouldn’t end well.

Every time I see an article like this where some Republican white guy is bemoaning the fate of white bread America, I wonder why it hasn’t occurred to them to alter the the party’s position on abortion. If the goal is more white kids and fewer brown/black/red/yellow kids, why not make abortion legal for every woman of color and illegal for white women? I mean, isn’t this the logical extension of the white male Republican position about the role of women in society and their fear of color?
7He is assuming that white = rethug. Perhaps it may be true in Arizona, but it’s not a given everywhere else. Let’s hear it for minorities!

If you were home-schooled like ole David Stringer likely was, and mom or dad zipped over math because y’know it’s math and nobody understands anyways…
Arizona is already majority Hispanic. Even with evangelical home-schoolers having five or six kids, they will never push back the inevitable Hispanic tide. In Texas virtually the same is true. Even gerrymandering will not create a white majority in the southern triangle of Texas. I could go on but I won’t. New Mexico, ditto. Southern Cali, ditto. Parts of Utah, Colorado, and Nevada, ditto.
Blacks have a population destiny in Louisiana, Mississippi, Ala-damn-bama, other of the rebellious states. If you don’t see the irony in that then you have no sense of irony.
In 30 to 50 years, the majority white states will be up north by the Canadian border. Ironic as well, no?
Meanwhile, populations in India and China continue to explode. Watching IT Outsourcing has taught me that team members in India can maintain the work product throughput and quality of their American peers. I intentionally avoid a comment on economics here. YMMV.
Hundreds of millions of software developers in India will not fail to find a market.
And finally, the folks herein who know me personally know that while I am melanin challenged to the nth degree, my children and grand-children are not. One wouldn’t notice the Welsh, English, German, American Indian heritage in them, but there it is, along with more recent Korean and Hispanic genes.
And while I am not a professional engineer, one of my descendants just graduated with a BSME and two of my younger grandboys will very likely find their ways to mechanical engineering a few years.
And of course my extraordinarily Welsh surname on Hispanic and Korean kids is worth its weight in comic relief. At least to me.

13In the past, this kinda statement openly revealing someone’s true motives and opinions instead of a kinder, gentler explanation, woulda been said to be refreshingly honest. Unfortunately we’re into new territory, where new descriptors are required. Revoltingly honest? Repugnantly honest? I don’t know. But using the term refreshingly for something that makes me feel like I need a shower is just wrong.
14Micr: on the subject of strengthening the family gene pool, my grandchild who is half Mexican has a great grand parent with the amazing name of Hjalmer Hammer.
15Remarkably it was my late mother who opened my eyes very early on to “mixture”. Our own pedigree is just about from damn near all over the world so in her estimation, we are the perfect “Finnish”.
