Another One Bites The Dust

As I told you last week, the Republican Williamson County District Attorney Jana Duty got herself into a mess of trouble by jacking with a judge.  Even the cross between her boobs couldn’t gather out of trouble.

Jana fessed up and is headed to the pokey.

Williamson County District Attorney Jana Duty is going to jail Friday instead of appealing a contempt of court ruling against her, according to a court document.

Duty agreed to surrender her personal bond Friday and start serving her jail sentence, an affidavit to surrender filed Friday said.

The defendant in charged with following a woman out of a mall and then strangling her.  His first trial ended in a mistrial.

He was scheduled to be retried this spring until defense attorneys accused Duty and prosecutors of withholding time stamp information on a crucial surveillance video from a Wal-Mart that conflicted with the defense’s timeline of events.

Duty has said, according to court documents, that she never withheld the time stamp information but defense attorneys just didn’t have the right software to play it.

Yeah, right.  Wrong software.  Sure.

Thanks to Kyle for the heads up.

  2. Are they going to go through all of the cases she was on to see if she did this in other instances?

  3. Well, png pdf wmf tif jpg! Any time any of those lawyers don’t have the exact software they always have a back up. We don’t have any such back up on site but we do have one via the internet. When we can’t open something we simply flip it to our buddy, he reformats and flips it back to us. Holy iCloud! This chick is totally lame-O!

  5. What is it about Williamson County? The had Ken Anderson, the Michael Morton prosecutor, and Judge Tim Wright is doing time for illegal gun sales, and now this bimbo. Somebody needs to clean up that courthouse.

  6. Monday through Friday in the courtroom – do you promise to tell the truth, nothing but the truth…
Sunday in church – thou shall not bear false witness…

At least she doesn’t have to feel like such a hypocrite on Saturdays.

What is it with that county? A buncha Republicans moved in when Austin started booming. What used to be farm and ranch land occupied mostly by Democrats (some of them right wingish to be sure) is now covered with square miles of developments and Republicans. I remember when Ken Anderson was a Democrat…in fact, he had run as a Dem but the last time he did, he changed coats as soon as he was in office because the county was switching that way that fast.

  8. It’s good to know that the DA is taking her commitment to justice seriously in this capital murder case despite the previous mistrial…

Oh wait! She’s in the pokey for contempt of court….

One of these days there might be a trial that results in a verdict, who knows if it will stand up to appeals. Probably not… It’s looking doubtful so far…

The real justice will come if, during her sentence, the jailers put this dolly in with the general jail population.
