And Now We Know; and it’s Worse Than We Thought

October 24, 2020 By: El Jefe Category: 2020 Election, Corruption, Trump

MUST READ.  LONG, BUT MUST READ.

The Atlantic is reporting that the Trump campaign has been conspiring for MONTHS to steal the election, no matter what the will of the voters.  The plan is much like we’ve talked about before, but even worse. Trump’s nonsense is now starting actually make sense; his continuous ranting about mail in voter fraud has been a signal for loyalists to vote in person, because millions of mail in ballots will be declared fraudulent, justifying his refusal to concede an election he’ll clearly lose.  Trump has been coordinating with Republican lawyers and legislatures in the battleground states to ignore the popular vote (citing said alleged fraud) and appoint electors to vote for Trump no matter the actual vote in those states.

This report is bone chilling, but connects all the dots.  Michael Cohen was right; Trump will never leave office willingly, and is depending on corrupt politicians in the battleground states to violate their oaths to the Constitution and the people to keep him in office.

Spread this far and wide.

  1. Now you know why gun sales have been skyrocketing. They don’t know the name for it but it is called the Castle doctrine. Defense of home and family. Orange Peel ordering the proud boys or other fascists calls to arms won’t be the curtain call. It is the lawyers dropping suits all over the country over outrage of a massive win and Dementiadent’s cries of “Let the courts decide it.”

Fortunately, there are more of us than them. There is a media element of fear mongering here.

It’s a scary prediction, but frankly, it’s exactly what I’ve feared was coming- the lawsuits about ballot counting, and the electoral college going rogue (some of that happened in 2016).
The repugnantican party has become a cancer with the main tumor being the Trumpf mob-like administration. Democracy and those voting against him will be the tissue that is being killed.

    In addition:
based on, concerned with, or verifiable by observation or experience rather than theory or pure logic: they provided considerable empirical evidence to support their argument.

This is the rhetoric of opinion ~ not empiricism

Edit: election lawyers speak of a “margin of litigation” in close races. The tighter the count in early reports, and the more votes remaining to count, the greater the incentive to fight in court. If there were such a thing as an Election Administrator’s Prayer, as some of them say only half in jest, it would go, “Lord, let there be a landslide.”

  5. The important point is the trumpig is NOT the problem…he is the exposing the rePUKEians for the PUKE they are and have always been. And no matter how much damage he causes to the MAGAs, they are too st00pid to see the way the rePUKEians are. The rePUKEians are con men and criminals aided by LIARs4Money (preachers).

  6. Jane & PKM says:

What is with those conservative who claim to be constitutional originalists? (originalists btw isn’t actually a word) But they operate on the irony and oxymoron of the “unified executive theory.” Find that anywhere in the US Constitution or any of the Federalist Papers which define the intent of the founders.

I admit sleeping through a lot of HS history, but I do remember three co-equal branches of government. Something about King George, too. So it’s likely I would have snapped awake at the mention of unfettered presidential powers.

  7. The Atlantic article posits a number of plausible scenarios, but is Trump that organized? Have we ever seen him manage anything on a multi-state basis, for an extended period of time?

    The writer suggests:
    1) An armed Trump Army will show up at the polls to intimidate voters. Can he manage this in eight swing states just by Tweeting at idiots with rifles? Also, Election Day is not just one day this year. There is also early in-person voting, so the Trump Army would have to show up at polls for days or weeks before Election Day.

    2) Lawyers contesting aspects of the vote. Again, can Trump organize this on a national scale? Florida in 2000 was just one state.

Trump throws spaghetti on the wall then sees if it sticks. If it doesn’t stick he can’t maintain the concentration required to boil it for another minute or two. He just moves on.

Harris County (Houston) has had a ton of mail in votes. I hope they are able to open and count them quickly at the NRG where they have set up.

  9. Steve from Beaverton says:

Trumpf is not running this thing, it’s the repugnantican part fanatics and their hired gun lawyers. Trumpf is their mouthpiece at this point but he’s not smart enough to do it himself.
As for the armed Trumpf intimidators. Check out what happened in PA and intimidation in Florida. It’s happening and in many cases, law enforcement isn’t doing their job.

Thank you all (in advance) for voting.

  13. Weeeeellllll the first line of defense is understanding what you are fighting. So proper preparations can be made. Here’s hoping ACLU and other defenders of the constitution are ready. Democracy is truly on the line.

  14. Nick Carroway says:

Obviously the hope is to beat him in person in addition to beating him in absentee ballots. Harris county has already set the early voting record with a week left to go. Hopefully, that bodes well. I’m not saying it’s impossible for him to try. It will just be that much harder with a blue wave.

    15
  15. It makes an excellent case for in person (very) early voting. I had to vote absentee because I’m out of state, but my son and daughter-in-law didn’t trust the mail, so they early voted with great enthusiasm.

  17. YELLOWSTONE says:

I think that Trump will lose the election and it will not be close. Of course, he will throw a tantrum and whine about how he was cheated. Eventually, he will leave office after making as much fuss as possible. To be on the safe side I suggest that Biden bring in an exorcist to get rid of any demonic spirits that Trump leaves behind.

    Merrigay @19 …

There are already extensive legal resources geared up … Democrats have Mark Elias, is the chair of Perkins Coie’s Political Law Group and Founder of @DemocracyDocket, heading up their group: https://federalnewsnetwork.com/government-news/2020/10/trump-biden-lawyer-up-brace-for-white-house-legal-battle/

ACLU has a separate group: For help at the polls, call the non-partisan Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE. The ACLU and other voting rights advocates are ready to jump into action should problems arise. Your job is to vote.

Legal protections are primarily NOT a last minute volunteer gig, but there may be a need for more attorneys to take materials from the groups and present them to courts.
