Alert the Media, Dammit!
Frank Luntz, the popular GOP wordsmith and adviser, thought he was speaking privately when he said what everybody else says privately. However, this time, Luntz was being taped.
Frank Luntz, the media-friendly Republican consultant and word wiz, told a group of college students this week that Rush Limbaugh and right-wing talk radio are “problematic” for the GOP and partly responsible for the stark polarization within the nation’s political discourse.
Ya think?
Of course, Limbaugh will get even because he’s a big fat bully.
But there’s more …
He warned that if his party did not resolve its internal divides, it could lose the House of Representatives next year.
I because of gerrymandering, I seriously doubt that. But, who knows? Maybe they can cook and eat each other. There’s always hope.
Thanks to Brian for the heads up.
Hmm, new cookbook…Republican stew, first step is trim off all the fat and chop into bite-size pieces…after all, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
1Hurray for recording devices!
2No Rush for me, thanks – I’m on a low-fat diet. Heart issues, you know. (As in, I have one.)
3Right-wing radio likely doesn’t help the GOP because it only preaches to the choir and is thus unlikely to win over new voters.
Of course, the GOP has been recruiting for the choir for decades by teaching their base to hate government, hate gays, hate minorities, despise women, hate non-Christians and be destructive and unreasonable in their political demands.
If right-wing radio hurts the GOP it is a self-inflicted wound.
4Hate-mongering has become the Republican way of life. Luntz isn’t telling us anything we didn’t already know. The Tea Party made it mainstream, but the rethugs don’t know how to turn it off. It will destroy them.
5I just so love it when Repugs think they’re speaking off the record and holding forth at big-buck banquets. Ya know, maybe he’s hoping for a job offer as a spy…oops, blew that cover!
