Alcoa presents, You Make the Call

December 04, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

And here’s a happy story from Nick Caraway —

Back in the old days, Alcoa used to advertise their product by showing you questionable calls from past NFL football games. The whole idea is they wanted you to weigh in and decide for yourself. I suppose they also wanted you to call Alcoa. Sometimes these messages get lost in the translation.

So, I present to you the star witness for the prosecution. She’s signed a paper saying she could go to prison if she’s lying. So, that proves the fraud. We can close the case and cancel the inauguration. Here comes your dilemma. Is this woman merely drunk? Is she drunk and stupid? Is Rudy using her as a human shield to distract you from his own flatulence? Moreover, is this really serious or are we watching a high form of performance art? Enjoy.

And there’s more —

Starved for affection/attention. As a newspaper reporter you dealt with such people often.

Some reporters enjoyed making fun of them. I used to ask, if it was my mother doing his, how would I think about it?

  2. Steve from Beaverton says:

It appears Giuliani was successful in getting 75 PA repugnantican house members to sign a letter to the state’s congressional delegation asking that they object to approving the state electors going to Biden. Would not surprise me if there are several repugnanticans in congress that will do just that.

Headline: Michael Cohen reveals the endgame of Trump’s post-election hysterics: ‘He can’t go back to real estate’
Cohen: “The guy is so ignorant and arrogant. He billed himself as a builder, and he’s done nothing. He couldn’t even get an infrastructure bill passed.”

  4. Are we saying the poll book is wildly off?
    Wildly off! Wildly off!

The poll book’s not the only thing that’s wildly off.
I don’t know what daytime drinking game she’s been playing, but I’d guess it involves downing a shot every time somebody says “the?”

  5. It looks like Mellisa Carone was doing an impression of Cicily Strong doing an impression of Mellisa Carone on SNL from over 5 years ago:

  7. Her “computer crime” probation was for sending a sexually explicit video (or videos) to her boyfriend’s ex-wife.

  8. Frank McCormick says:

And we now know the details of her crime and conviction.

No surprise: it involves years of lying and it’s really tawdry.

  9. I saw this on the TV in the office. No sound, only image. That way we are supposed to get our work done without distraction.Even without sound I knew this woman had a Big Problem. Which mens her Big Problem became the Big Problem for her backers, who ever the hell they really were. She must have snorted a fifth before going into that room. What is it with the Rethugs? They think that Rudy is the pinnacle of the legal profession and that people like this boozy blond are the way to win. I am not renting free space i any of their heads!

  10. Elizabeth Moon says:

*We* can all see that she’s a chemically dependent, dishonest, attention-hungry, power-hungry, woman…but Republicans will see only that she’s saying what they want to hear. Many of them believe, and most want to believe, that the election was fixed by the Dems, and she’s their “proof.” Even if they have doubts about her personally, they won’t budge an inch because a Trump victory is absolutely all they care about. Convicted of sending harassing sex tapes to some guy’s ex-wife…that’s just the kind of thing women do (and they religiously do not care about victims.)

What the heck is “Mediterranean ethnicity” though? There are 20-21 nations bordering the Mediterranean. There are little bitty ones like Monaco and Montenegro, little ones like the cluster of “Balkan” states north & east of the Adriatic, (Albania, etc) Bigger ones like Spain, France, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, a couple of island states (Malta, Cyprus), currently in war or near war status like Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Gaza Strip. There is no such thing as “Mediterranean ethnicity”. Many of those 21 or so nations have been at war with another (or several) other Mediterranean countries in my lifetime, not to mention embedded ethnicities in the larger countries seeking independence (Catalan and Basque). There are more than 21 languages, two major and multiple subsidiary religions, fiercely opposed political opinions and a near universal opposition to regional unity, easily kept at a near boil (at least) by larger foreign powers.

So who told Miss Carone to call herself of Mediterranean rather than Italian ethnicity? And why? I think a lot of poking into her background might be fruitful.

  11. Harry Eagar says:

Frank McCormick: I just got a message when I clicked your link I have never seen before: This site is under heavy load and not accessible.

So, what does this portend? Melissa Carone is the new darling of 74 million trumpeters, new but of derision of 80 million bidenistas, or what?

  12. Steve from Beaverton says:

The story in Politicus and Raw Story today is that 90% of repugnanticans in Congress are sticking with the election is not decided. Instead of herd immunity, it’s herd delusions, but both are dangerous.
I don’t have any doubts now that there will be several in Congress refusing to accept the electoral college votes and will force the results to debated in congress. It also wouldn’t surprise me if at least one state legislature attempts to go rogue when they select electors. I hate to be so pessimistic, but this is not democracy at this point, it’s a rotten banana republic.

    13
  13. Steve from Beaverton @ 13,

Let all 75 act like idiots. Is there a way to get the names of the 75 out on social media and given to the Lincoln Project? They need to be shamed, blamed and voted out in the 2022 election.

  14. Sam in Superior says:

“information technology certificate from ITT Technological Institute” means nothing.

When I was working on my MA specializing in Cybersecurity, I was told by numerous instructors that top colleges won’t admit someone to their program if they list ITT as a school they attended. It figures this dipstick did the minimum amount of work at a shoddy school.

    15
  15. Buttermilk Sky says:

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-MO) plans to try to get the election results thrown out on January 6 if he can get a senator to collude with him. I’m guessing…Tommy Tuberville?

    16
  16. Steve from Beaverton says:

Papa @ 14: There are well over 200 (like 250) between the senate and house in congress that are still in denial. The 75 that signed a letter to not approve electors were just legislators in PA. Several others in state legislatures such as WI, MI, Az and Georgia are suggesting the same. When the approval process begins in congress and some repugnanticans refuse to ok the state electors (only takes 1 in each chamber) then there’s up to a 2 hour debate ( my understanding is this could happen for each state where there’s an objection). When that happens, those repugnanticans will be on record and should be mercilessly shamed for 2022. Sadly, that will help them with Trumpfists. That’s why they’re doing it.

    17
  17. Steve from Beaverton @ 17,

The E.C. needs to be abolished in favor of election by the popular vote. No other democracy in the world uses such an antequainted and patently unfair election system. If the GOP and Trump succeed in over turning the vote, I shudder to think what happens next.

    18
  18. The Surly Professor says:

Elizabeth Moon: The Mediterranean thing sorta jumped out at me. I was also curious if that was from a modeling site, or a “modeling” site. Hard to tell from their first page, but one of their success stories sounds really sad:

I got a job that pays $400.00 per day! Wow! I got a co-starring role in The Klown Kamp Massacre, thanks to Explore Talent. This job pays $400.00 per day!

Yeah, I know that it’s hard to get a start in acting, modeling, or dancing. But that is just a whole world of awfulness that so many women are trapped in. And this Carone managed to sink even lower, into a co-starring role in The Republican Klown Kamp Massacre.

  19. RepubAnon says:

Doesn’t anybody do background checks before hiring people?

    20
  20. Harry Eagar says:

RepubAnon Or minimal betting on allegations they present to courts.

    21
  21. Nick Carroway says:

It might be a giant troll job. If you watch old clips of Cecily Strong’s roles on SNL (particularly the woman you regret starting a conversation with at the party) it is uncanny. It is art imitating life imitating art.
