This is exactly what extremist Republicans are trying to impose on Americans. The Handmaid’s Tale comes into actual life.

Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
The realism is chilling. All the worse for the fact that so many committed X-ian soldiers belive they are doing the right thing, god’s work.
1“god’s work.”
Even god lets you make poor choices, bad choices. S/he doesn’t force you to sit in a church pew every Sunday. It’s Christians who fidget on a hard wooden pew for one hour a week who want to take it out on others, and make decisions for them.
2I saw this video just after Dobbs. Chilling then. Chilling now. VOTE DEM!
3It’s pretty clear we are living in a country where insanity is literally “ruling” a large portion of us and supported by like minded voters. I’m not sure anymore what % of the population it is, but I have great concern about the next election and 2024. I hope my fears are unwarranted. My formerly blue Oregon is likely to have a pro-abortion pro gun Governor next year. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that was possible.
4Wow, did I make a boo-boo above- I meant a Governor pushing anti-abortion/anti-women’s reproductive rights. Pro gun was correct.
5Wow! Strong! And right on point! Yes, if a police officer can ask someone if they have been drinking, or are drunk, he can ask all sorts of other invasive questions. However, the question about drinking is usually always followed up with a breatholyzer. How would any officer be able to follow up his question of “Are you pregnant?” without getting himself arrested for sexual assault?
6maggie@6: in answer to your question, “qualified immunity”. Which has become unqualified immunity for too many police departments. I can readily see police being equipped with home pregnancy tests, and forcing women to use them while being watched closely. At first the policy would be that only female cops can do that. But just like strip searches, if no women police are “available”, then it will be Officer Joe Bob, or Deputy Sheriff Jimbo.
7RE 6 & 7: As a warm up exercise to the *Handmaid’s Tale Patrol Unit* note Florida’s 45 wannbe Governor’s has a new so-called “Office of Election Crimes and Security” that is already in the field arresting people on bogus “voter fraud” felony charges.
“Of the 19 people arrested, 12 were registered as Democrats and at least 13 are Black….”
