Abbott Strikes Again…

April 06, 2021 By: El Jefe Category: Coronavirus

This morning, Greg Abbott banned vaccine passports in Texas, falsely claiming that they “reveal private health information”.  That’s the dumbest goddam thing I’ve heard since Trump recommended consuming bleach.  Protecting “private health information”?  For God’s sake I’m telling EVERYBODY.  Abbott’s confirmed once again that he’s a complete moron.

Be social and share!

  1. I think Abbott should be focusing on real issues such as banning space aliens from landing on Texas soil or violating Texas air space.

  2. Isn’t this the kind of behavior of a guy who actually knows but refuses to publicly admit that he has run out his string? He’s gonna go screaming and crying out of his Office!

  3. Does this concern for protecting private health information extend to pregnant women and their desire to make their own health decisions and not be tread upon by some opportunistic political hacks?

The Governor’s Mansion in Austin was closed to tour groups because of Covid-19 until March 10. On their web site it now says

“Masks are strongly encouraged, and social distancing guidelines will be implemented to ensure the safety of all visitors.”

Masks are encouraged, but forbidden by the Governor from being required. I’d love to get together a batch of like-minded people who are safely vaccinated. We then fill a tour group. None of us wearing masks, and some loudly coughing and sniffing. Maybe one or two saying “I can’t smell anything”. [Of course I know, it’s the staff and not the governor who would suffer. But a fellow can dream, can’t he?]

And when he and his buddies can’t fly to a foreign country without that vaccination record/ passport …?
Yeah, they’ll get theirs but not allow others to do the same.

Mel #1 – don’t forget Jewish space lasers!

Private companies are going to require proof of vaccination. It would otherwise be like renting a car without showing a valid drivers license, not going to happen. This is just more pandering and deflection from his MANY failures.

Are these vaccinations up next for Abbott?

It seems that at least some of these are in various cases tied to passports for travel permissions.

I am going to refuse to put my need for glasses on my driver’s license, as it tells people my medical condition.

  10. I guess we also need to outlaw those Medic Alert bracelets too. Someone might accidentally see that you’re a diabetic or allergic to penicillin.

And a big AMEN to what Mark says!

If I got that right, he is above-DeSantis on the Lunatic Scale, since he is not trying to prevent private organizations from requiring certificates.

My grandchildren dragged me to Wal-Mart today, for the first time in over a year. The greeter is now in the vestibule next to a sign requiring masks.

Although there are plenty of covidiots in Carroll County, there seems to be next to none of the assertiveness we see reported from Texas, Michigan, Idaho. Civic leadership does make a difference. The county’s elected officials, though some of the were skeptical at first, have been jollied along by a very good public health director, so that the boundary of lunatic fringe is clearly established here.

  12. Stunningly stupid, even for Abbott. We’ll have to just stay home, since there’s no way to know if a public place is safe. He won’t protect us and stops anyone who tries to.

No vaccine “passports” for Texans? Inconvenient, but if it means that idiot Texans have to stay in Texas and only infect each other, I could see it.

  14. G Foresight says:

Hum, isn’t this like needing a passport?

NOTE: “The Republican National Committee is requiring attendees of the party’s spring donor retreat in Florida to get tested for COVID & submit proof of a negative result as a condition for entry.”

Add Typhoid and Yellow Fever immunizations to that list–those plus Hep A and IPV (polio) were required before visiting Kenya.
