Trump Lied Because He Has To
I think Trump made a deal with the devil. He promised he would never tell the truth if the devil would let him be president. Never, ever, for any reason whatsoever tell the truth.
That’s why he had to let 180,000 die. Because a deal is a deal.
President Donald Trump admitted he knew weeks before the first confirmed US coronavirus death that the virus was dangerous, airborne, highly contagious and “more deadly than even your strenuous flus,” and that he repeatedly played it down publicly, according to legendary journalist Bob Woodward in his new book “Rage.”
“This is deadly stuff,” Trump told Woodward on February 7.
And Bob Woodward couldn’t tell people that Trump was lying because he had a deal, too, with a book publisher.
So, if you want to know what’s the deal, that’s the deal. Everybody’s got a deal.
Some deals are deadly, some deals are money, some deal are blessed unions, and some deals involved back scratching. Everybody’s got a deal. And no matter how cynical I get, I can’t keep up.

2And predictably today, Kayleigh McEnany immediately said, “the president never downplayed the coronavirus to the American public” which is exactly what would have been said by her and Trumpf in February. It’s sadly laughable by McEnany.
3It’s hard to defend Woodward waiting till now to come out with his first hand knowledge of Trumpfs admitting to playing it down from the start. And of course no one else that was in the room in January did either.
And then Trumpf holds his old time rallies this week, still downplaying the pandemic. I wish he’d get sick.
Hopefully Woodward’s book will make a difference now, but it won’t. But he’ll get his money.
And Trump is not anything like Robert Johnson.

If Woodward’s book caused enough Trumpistas to vote for Biden, or at least stay home instead of voting, the delay might be worth it. However, we already know that absolutely nothing will change the Covidiots’ minds. We are so screwed . . .

10In summary, in the last 24 hours we’ve learned:
Trump knew how deadly and transmissible COVID was in February and LIED to downplay it so he could get re-elected.
Over 200,000 Americans are now dead from this virus, and the US leads the world in Coronavirus cases.
Trump oked hit pieces in National Enquirer on both Rubio and Cruz.
The DHS whistleblower was ordered to change the threat assessment, to downplay risks of White Supremacy and play up any vaguely leftist threats.
DHS whistleblower also goes on to say that Russian intelligence efforts are actively being downplayed
The National Enquirer’s attack pieces and catch and kill pieces essentially amount to major illicit campaign donations to Trump.
Hannity has been actively coordinating with president on more spin than a carnival tea cup ride.
Former DNI Dan Coats privately continues to believe that Putin has something on Trump because “there’s no other explanation.”
Trump sat for 17 interviews with Woodward ON TAPE and he shows Woodward 27 “love letters” between himself and Chairman Kim, which are full of enough manipulative flattery to gag a lovelorn middle schooler.
Oh and California is on fire, Louisiana has been decimated and the only real federal response is from Chef José.
Sadly I could go on but the big take away is Trump lied, people died. Stay focused, organize, get out the vote.
11As already mentioned, HHS already tried to muzzle Fauci. You can expect even stronger stuff anytime as Dr Fauci this morning said on CBS that he would call for a national mask mandate when asked about Trumpfs rallies. That sounds like an endorsement of Biden’s plan. Trumpf will never let that go unpunished.
12and then woodward sat on the news for what 7 months? what’s up with that?
13The tragedy (other than the dead and permanently impaired) is that if Woodward had played his tapes for us in January, Mitch and the gang would still have voted no on impeachment.
Break up the Republican party. Use the RICO Act, use the tax laws, use whatever you have to. They’re worse than organized crime ever was.
14While it seems obvious today that Woodward should have released the tapes sooner, I’m not ready to damn him for eternity. Others have pointed out the fact that plenty of officials had an obligation to speak up and didn’t. I also think that if Woodward had come out in March, when the virus was mostly affecting blue states, Trump’s legions would have blown it off completely. In May or June it might have broken through and saved some lives. But it’s hard for me to say when these tapes went from easily ignored to something effective.
15JJ, we knew from way back when that tRump had sold whatever soul he had to the devil. Did not need Woodward for impetus. But those tapes are way past interesting, as in Guilty Of Treason. For his own purposes, tRump did what he thought was good for him, not the country, and he killed people as a result. This guy has very bloody hands.
16So I reckon now I can name Not only 45 and the minions of hell, but woodward and his publishers for the wrongful death of my Husband of 36 years who died of Covid-19 on March 28th. Wonder what my “Deal” will be, think it’ll turn my world back rightside up? Not holding my breath

18Your loss puts everything in perspective about what Trump and all his enablers have done. Unfortunately there are so many families that are going through this real pain.
