Jerry Falwell and Answered Prayers
Okay, here’s the deal. Liberty University president, Jerry Falwell, Jr., has been misbehaving and the university is trying to decide what to do with him.
They sent out a message —-
No decision regarding retaining Falwell as President has been made at this time adding, “the Board requested prayer and patience as they seek the Lord’s will and also seek additional information for assessment.
I don’t like getting into the church’s business as I equally don’t like them getting into mine, but I think maybe they should wake the hell up.
We have a plague, California is burning down, there were six waterspouts (read: tornadoes) off the coast of Louisiana all at once last week, the Gulf Coast is fixing to get hit with two hurricanes at the same damn time, and murder hornets.
What the hell are you people waiting for?
It used to be that just one little tornado and you people would holler, “God hates Obama and right there you have proof.”
What’s it gonna take to get your attention?
Now all those things have simple explanations. California is burning down because it is full of homos and Democrats, so the fire is God’s way of preparing them for the fires of Hell.
The hurricanes are hitting the Gulf Coast, not Virginia. They must also be doing something sinful, like getting tattoos or dancing.
Murder hornets are on the West Coast; see the analysis of California above. Plus they’ve got “violent anarchists” spraying graffiti on sacred federal buildings, which violates the requirement that Good Christians (TM) obey the government God put over them.
Clearly JJ you have not been (brain)washed in Baptist theology, or you could find an excuse in the Bible for damned near anything. Brother/sister Jane and PKM will now pass around the collection plate, just be sure to put 10% of your gross income, not net income, into it.

Conservatives have the classic ‘can’t see the forest through the trees problem.’ Forest fires, COVID-19, tornadoes, hurricanes, and the biggest disaster of all -Donnie. It’s all too much for them which leaves them with “move along nothing to see here.” Agree that does not make a wit of sense as a response, but it’s all they’ve got without actually leaving their land of alternative facts.
6More OT WX stuff:
The forecasts, models and ensembles are evolving to give us a bit of a ‘cane swap. Still two of them, likely to be hurricanes.
A short while ago Texas [Galv/Hou] was likely to get a weak Marco TS or Cat 1 hurricane. Now Marco’s probable track has shifted way east, out of Texas; probably hitting MS, AL, FL.
TS Laura was looking to track east and visit LA, AL, FL, not Texas, as a stronger Cat 1 hurricane.
Now it’s looking like TS Laura will be a strong Cat 1 –up to even a Cat 3 hurricane–, heading smack dab for Galveston/Houston, or a little to either side.
This is a major changing situation, for the worse if in Texas.
Laura has held together amazingly well traversing Hispaniola, is strengthening, and may stay south of Cuba while heading WNW to the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico [think ‘rocket fuel’].
Now the whole Texas coast is a potential landfall for a hefty Hurricane Laura, with Galveston as probable ground zero.

8And they are all staring at the sky waiting for Jesus to return or to be raptured. I was hearing in 1972 that Jesus would be back any minute. However, based on how they are behaving, they shouldn’t hold their breath on not getting “Left Behind”.
9Maybe the Liberty University board could crack a Bible for some thoughts & assessment? One of the Commandments states:
“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”
I think we have the neighbor’s wife and maidservent included in this scenario of coveting as a twofer, and I’m pretty sure we have an ass, just not sure how many.

14Well, none of the certified Xtians can be part of the problem b/c they have all repented and been saved. It can’t be Covid-45 b/c he supports everything they do and has assured them he’s never done anything he needs to repent of, and if the POTUS said it, it must be true. So all that leaves is us poor slobs who believe in science and who care about our fellow travelers on this planet, and if we’re that dumb, we must deserve what we’re getting, right? Just what we get for reading the gospels instead of the good parts.
