Here, Take My Money And Gimme That Book

October 22, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

CNN has the story

The anonymous senior Trump administration official whose 2018 New York Times op-ed was called treasonous by President Donald Trump has written a new book about Trump titled “A Warning” that will be published next month, CNN has learned.

The author will remain anonymous, and sources familiar with the book tell CNN that “elaborate precautions have been taken to protect the author’s identity.”
“The Author of A WARNING refused the chance at a seven figure advance and intends to donate a substantial amount of any royalties to the White House Correspondents Association and other organizations that fight for a free press that seeks the truth,” Latimer said, adding that the book “was not written by the author lightly, or for the purpose of financial enrichment. It has been written as an act of conscience and of duty.”

Remember all those years we guess who Deep Throat was?

Well, it starts again.  Who is it?

Remember when some people thought it was Rick Perry?  Or Mike Pence?  Or Elaine Chao?  Seriously, they did.

Got any guesses?

Remember that this “anonymous” person claims that the things that Trump does are good, they just don’t like the tacky, unseemly way he talks about them. You’ll be giving your money to a Republican that will likely vote for their boss, Trump again in 2020.

  4. So many names and so little time. I know who I’d like it to be, although it would be my wish, more so than a guess. It would also require a ghostwriter. Ivanka. If it began trending on Twitter, Trump might then begin mistrusting his own disloyal children. “Did you know about this Don Jr? Eric?”

It could be enough of a push and shove so he decides it’s in his own best interest that he secludes himself in an undisclosed lair, perhaps in a suite at the top of a near bankrupt casino and let his fingernails grow long but not his hair, as that no doubt stopped growing decades ago.

  5. My pessimism is showing these days. I immediately thought of Primary Colors and how quickly the author was identified.

  7. Forgive me if I am more than a little bit nonplussed about this. This is an individual who is seeking to make money off publishing a book but doesn’t have the nerve or patriotism to put their name on the allegations. Meanwhile, genuine patriots who are seeking to faithfully serve our country, bravely testify in front of Congress, (Ambassador Bill Taylor), and make their testimony public, (former Ambassador Yovanovitch). They bravely come forward risking their positions and livelihood Using their own names and working through proper channels, (the whistleblower), while this person seeks to profit. If Anonymous wants to make a difference s/he needs to put a name on it. Book deals don’t save kids in cages or the Kurds in Syria, much less the Ukrainians.

JJ, I’m a die-hard Phillies Phan relocated to the DC area.

When you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with.

  9. Agree with Dem @7 – which is why I think the motives are less than pure. Soooo, my guess is Pence, so he can be president.

    9
  10. There are so many “rogue” accounts on Twitter and speculating who they might be (or if they are in fact who they claim to be) is a popular sport. That said, my guilty pleasure is Angry White House Staffer, who isn’t one but claims to know things.

    10
  11. It has to be John Barron. Who else would have all the inside information?

I’m with Pancho #1 – I think the authors last name will end up being Trump.

  13. I won’t be buying that book. I’m in agreement with Deb
and want to salute the courageous civil servants who defied the White House attempts to obstruct their testimony.
I look forward to reading the transcripts of honest and trustworthy people (not including Sonland) who have the courage of their convictions.

  14. Meanwhile at Homeland security the individual that appears to have the inside track now that the demented ones first choices are ruled legally unqualified to assume the title of “acting” is a new piece of slime named Chad Wolf the planner and archetect of family separation policy.
We are already hearing the same snow job we heard about barr.
How his sins were a simple case of him “just obeying orders” and how he is dedicaited to the “institition” etc.
In reality his record shows him as a good fit in this administration of psychopaths and abuse enthusiast’s.
No “honeymoon” for him and the abusive legal sanctuary for sadist’s that he might end up heading.

  15. Update: Testimony by Top Diplomat Bill Taylor on Trump and Ukraine Elicits ‘Holy Sh*t’ Responses From Members of Congress

    Edit:
Taylor was told in July that Ukraine would not receive military aid unless President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly launched an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden “This testimony is a sea change,” Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) told Politico. “I think it could accelerate matters. This will, I think, answer more questions than it raises.”

Gasps were reportedly heard from lawmakers throughout Taylor’s testimony, which began after House Democrats issued a subpoena following the State Department’s attempt to block Taylor from speaking.

“The body language of the people hearing it was ‘holy shit,’ seriously,” Rep. Harley Rouda (D-Calif.), a member of the Oversight Committee, told Politico.

  16. Jane & PKM says:

Jane and I will guarantee a substantial donation to Texas Democrats that this particular role of “Deep Throat” isn’t Messy despite her previous renditions in a similar role. Our vote? Possibly a lesser unknown in this maladministration. If the author is a ‘player’ then it would be Rexxon Drillerson or H.R. McMaster. H.R. wrote Dereliction of Duty, before he became a whore for promotion to general. Our vote is H.R. is taking his guilt ridden ass to the line. Maybe he’ll get it right this time.

  18. Deb @7 said it best.

    18
  19. Yes, Deb @7 has it right. This is an asshole who signed up to do asshole things and then wanted to dryclean their rep.

Also, note how the NYT has managed to keep this person’s identity secret for a year but did their damnedest to out a whistleblower who’s life is in danger if their identity is known.

    19
  20. NicaBrian says:

Sean Hannity, double agent. By cleverly supporting and encouraging Donald to admit every phobia, obsession and acts of revenge, he set Trump up to be dethroned. Sean will then take his shadow role as Director of Shadow Server Strategies for the DNC in public. George Soros will then buy Sean’s private jet and lease it back to Sean for $1/yr.

    20
  21. Jane & PKM at #16 are close to, if not on, the mark. Deep Throat was Mark Felt, who leaked because he was passed over for FBI head. This leaker is someone who like Felt served gladly and probably got snubbed. If it’s somebody who’s already left, the book will show a change in style when it delves into any post-leaving dirt. I think the person is still there and motivated not by shame (which was not evident at all in the first book, and which I think rules out any departed employee) but by resentment.

    George Conway?

    23
  24. Years ago right after the Watergate thingie and Woodward and Bernstein, myy ladiy friends and I guesed right off who it was and time proved us right. All we had to do was to look at the organization chart to see who was closest to J. Edgar and someone J. Edgar would never suspect because J. Edgar knew all his secrets. Darn good place to start looking in this case.

  25. Buttermilk Sky says:

Andrew McCabe. Remember how they screwed him over his pension? Actual writing done by Michael Wolff or Tony Schwartz, who still regrets writing “The Art of the Deal.”

    25
  26. Quaker Granny says:

Yes, we’re all curious, but do not buy the book. The juicy (and of course unverifiable) bits will soon be quoted in the media.

As for donating a “substantial” portion of the royalties… yeah, sure. Show me the paperwork. “Conscience and duty”? This person has less integrity than God gave a banana peel.

If we’re having a betting pool here, put me down for a dark horse: the truth-and-integrity challenged Ms. Conway.

    26
  27. Fleeting Expletive says:

There’s a clue in the designated recipient of the royalties: White House Press Club. Can you imagine how awful it must have been in the WH comms office with Spicer, Scary Mooch, Sarah “smokey eye” Sanders—Huckabee Sanders, that is—and now DUI Grisham, or whatever?

I bet these folks have seen some stuff.

    27
  28. Claudia K. says:

Paul Manafort fully expected Donald Trump to pardon him, but because he could not, Manafort’s now serving 7.5 years in the federal pen. Could Manafort be the author?
