Bluebonnets To Make You Smile
Bluebonnets are a thing in Texas. Every Easter people dress their kiddos in their Easter clothes and pose them in a field of bluebonnets. It’s mandatory.
This year, police from across Texas did poses because … who the hell knows?
Some of them are very funny.
Some are clever.
And some are very … uh, disturbing.
Thanks to Kary for the heads up.
Cops acting like regular people – what a concept!
I especially like the guy with the margarine and the Burt Reynolds pose.
1I’ve always wanted to put your Blue Bonnets and our fields of Lupine side by side to see how much they are alike. They look identical. About three years ago, I flew to the UK with a stop in Iceland and saw Lupine blooming everywhere. It apparently was imported from Alaska ages ago to stop the logging erosion caused by boat builders. At first I couldn’t believe what I was seeing but sure enough that’s what it was. It was gorgeous.
2AKLynne, bluebonnets are indeed a strain of lupine, so they should look very much alike indeed.
3Another beauty: grape hyacinths. Not yet blooming in PA.
4No lupines or blue bonnets here in the south west desert. But we have cactus flowers the size of dinner plates that bloom and wilt all in 24 hours.
5There you go: A cute couple of policepersons.
Blue bonnets ahoy!!!
6I want a double order of #17, please
7#28: cuff me, from me, and lay some abuse on me. My safe word, though, is “Miranda.”
8Hey, didn’t the late Lady Bird have something to do with the prolific Texas bluebells?
