Oh y’all, Florida, where Trumpism squirts all over the place. And where the dog whistles have become just regular whistles. Or cowbells, maybe they are cowbells now.
New Republican nominee for governor, Ron DeSantis gave an interview on Fox this morning where he referred to the African American Democratic nominee as “articulate.”
And then, oh yes he does, he tells Fox News that we shouldn’t “monkey up” Florida by electing his opponent Andrew Gillum.
You think I’m jacking with you, don’t you? Well, I am not.

1I’m pretty sure our motto remains “thank God for Mississippi” – but could it be that Mississippi’s motto is becoming “thank God for Florida?”
2What the heck does “monkey up” even mean? Other than the obvious, of course. I’ve heard of ‘throwing a monkey wrench into the works’, but …?

12Just talked with a friend from Tampa about the dog whistle — or bull horn — blown by DeSantis. Her response? “Hey, that idiot just made us all fight that much harder to elect Gillum.” And Diane, great idea sending that email to Florida’s C of C. We should all do the same thing!

14Diane, having just experienced a “Florida summer” here in New England I’m not sure why anyone would ever want to visit. Try Vermont, it’s cool and lovely. And no billboards.
15Gah! I read about that earlier today. After we’ve taken the government back, can we deport racists? I’ve a place in mind where we’ll drop scumbags like DeSantis, Tangerine Wankmaggot, incels and the rest from slow-descent parachutes.
You know that island near India that no one goes to because the native people don’t ask questions. They just greet you with spears? It’s one of the Seychelles, I think. Yeah, let’s deport US racists and misogynists there.
