Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Glen: Sending you my thoughts and prayers. No, really! Not the way Republicans do it. Recover quickly. Be healthy. Be happy. Hugs to you.
1WTG Glen! A speedy recovery to you, sir and many more years of kicking Texas snacilbupeR butt.
2Definitely a member of that club! Best wishes and prayers for Glen.
3Praying for your speedy recovery, Glen!
4Glennnnnn!
Get well dude, the game is afoot!
5Things happen in threes. Glen you are done. HEAL!
6Great news, Glen
And thanks for letting us know his status!
7Thanks for the update
8Good thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery , Glen.
Lots of good karma coming to you, Glen. Make sure you drink tons of water even if you aren’t thirsty and take it easy for a week or three.
9I don’t know him, JJ, but if you’re in his fan club, I know he’s a good guy and will add my best wishes for speedy recovery.
10Treehugger – Glen is so famous that he has his own Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Maxey
11This is great news!
12Get well soon, Glen!
How did the Birthday Party go? Did he receive all that crap we bought him?
13And many happy returns. Here’s to your continued recovery.
14BarbinDC, he got everything and more. Plus, he got a bunch of gift cards to fill in any holes. He promises thank you notes while he’s recovering. I’ll take pictures once it’s all decorated. (I should have taken some BEFORE pictures but … uh, it was a mess.) He’s staying with a friend in Austin for a month of recovery.
15tell Mr. Maxey I said welcome to the “zipper” club (he’ll know what I mean). Quad by-pass, 2004 here. I tell people my scars are from my college dueling days in Vienna. they don’t believe me, but what the hell, the initial look on their faces is worth it. 🙂
btw, they’ll boot him out of bed just as soon as it looks like he’s waking up, and have him doing laps around the floor with the help of a walker and a jr. (usually a large male) nurse.
16Both my parents had this surgery, all paid for by my father’s union membership from 30 years of work at FoMoCo. My sister recently underwent the same thing and she was sent packing home within a week whereupon she hired a construction crew to come and rip up her entire back yard and lay in French drains. She normally walks an average of 5 miles a day and is currently planning all the details for a trip south towards the end of May for a family event. Sounds good, huh? Actually dad one-upped her years ago by taking a post-op flight to Hawaii and leaving pinch marks up and down the beach on the big island. Mom stayed home and sold the house. I have such big shoes to fill!
17Wishing Glenn a speedy recovery!
18Healing light headed Glen Maxey’s way.
19Glen, honey, I bet you can get a bunch of SXSWers to come give you a private performance. Take care. I haven’t left a msg on your FB page because I always forget the password. I don’t forget you, though.
