Coming Home

November 11, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Three days in paradise are almost over.  The beach, Bubba, no television, amazing gulf coast seafood, and some live jazz music made my head almost upright itself.  Almost.

Thank you for bearing with me.

My damn near perfect grandchild is coming to stay with us for the weekend.  My heart will heal.

I will pack as soon as I finish the blessing of breakfast in bed.

See you soon

Be social and share!

  1. You deserve 3 weeks in Paradise. Can’t you stretch it out a little longer? Hate to think of your coming back to stark reality after all you’ve been through. Enjoy every last crumb of that breakfast.

  2. Grandkids are the absolute best….. at healing hurting hearts.

    Be well.

    Enjoy the weekend.

  3. Precious little cherub. Rest and recharge.

  4. If there is a chance that you watch the (rather long) segment of Morning Joe (2016-11-11) that features Michael Moore, I implore y’all to watch it. I will let the words of those people speak for themselves, and only add that we should have listened sooner.

The most startling revelation to me was that disdain I held for the Drumpf campaign’s largest expenditure (for caps) was covering perhaps the greatest sign that Drumpf might win. The most painful was that Pres. Obama drinking tap water from the pipes of Flint might have been seen as ultimate betrayal by Flint’s residents.

We need to change, and we need to listen a whole lot better than we have been.

  5. Every word of encouragement from any of us is helping to heal the hearts of all of us.

He is, indeed, precious. Right now, am sitting with a darling 14 mth old boy whose hair is not nearly so red or curly. When he wakes from his nap will give him a hug in honor of your grandson and grandchildren everywhere. That said, I get to spend time with my very precious god-daughters this evening. Glad bless all of you have as we struggle through this typical time.

“damn near perfect grandchild” is that Texas talk for well beyond perfect? Given his parents, grandparents and his own special charm, Ben is a certain delight!

Speaking of delight, as we prepare to take back the Senate in 2018, Texas has the special privilege of throwing the Loathsome Ted Cruz to the curb. Name your candidate, and the rest of us will be happy to contribute all that we can to insure your success.

Call it “pick 3” for 2018. From all of the Senators vulnerable in 2018, Teddie tops my list. Chime in folks and share who else is deserving of our special attention.

  8. I found an article written about Mike Rowe’s take on the election that you might want to look at. Just ignore the comments.

  9. Grandkids can cure what ails ya, that’s for sure. As the saying goes, “If I had known what fun grandkids are, I would have had them first.”

But don’t forget the other equally wise poem:

I’ve seen the lights of Paris,
I’ve seen the lights of Rome.

    But the sweetest lights
    Are the kids’ tail lights
When they’re taking the grandkids home.

    Enjoy!

  10. Hopefully, the Democrats in Congress will realize that they need to force the Republicans to take total ownership of the wrecking balls that they’re about to loose on our government.

Let’s start working on TV ads where a dad takes his kids out to their favorite fishing / hunting spot, only to find it’s either a wasteland from unregulated resource extraction, or was sold to a rich Trump supporter.

Another ad: “I may be dying from lack of affordable health care, but at least my taxes were reduced by $3.00 – Thanks, Donald!”

    10
  11. Oh, and let’s not forget Florida: an ad showing the water halfway up a living room wall, where a “Global Warming is a Hoax” poster is getting washed away…

    11
  12. He is beautiful and no doubt not afraid of the wind blowing his beautiful ginger hair…..have fun. We will make it.
    Onward.

    12
  13. Can’t believe how big he has gotten! What a handsome boy!

    13
  14. Cuter than cute. Give him a hug for me.

  15. You are deserving, Juanita Jean.

Hope there is a future for your Grands and everyone else’s Grands. With right wing war mongers everywhere I wouldn’t make any future plans.

RepubAnon … some great ideas for future ads!!

  18. Dear Juanita Jean, you have a truly wonderful grandchild. He’s so beautiful. Thanks for sharing three photo.

Your TWMDBS has been such a welcoming refuge. I cannot thank you enough. You posts and the comments have had me laughing aloud so many times. I cannot tell y’all how grateful I am. Y’all offer a welcome respite from the absurdity that sometimes seems to own the planet. It does my heart and soul much good.

Thank you JJ and every one of you who comes here to be cut, curled, combed, coiffed and comforted. Blessings.

  19. Lovely.

  20. Take it from someone who knows a thing or two about grandkids (and you know I know)…they are a salve that can heal anything.
