Okay, Here’s Some More Deal
I’m still working the ballot board on Monday and half a day on Tuesday. I am covering the election for Outsmart and will have a summary on Wednesday morning. I’ll post a link for you.
However, I will be right here Tuesday night to update election returns and hope you can drop by to tell us about your local elections.
Wednesday afternoon, I head to Galveston for a few days of trouble-making with my favorite hoodlum, Judge Susan Criss. Ole Bubba and I will be sleeping late for a few days, breathing ocean air, walking in the sand, and ordering breakfast in bed.
Meanwhile, I think that whole Secret Service thing with Trump at his rally looked as fake as a $10 wig.
And, remember the good ole days when all we had to fret about was that the head of the FBI was a crossdresser who kept a file on John Lennon? I want Hillary to appoint Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez to head the FBI. She’ll have that corrupt white male culture on their knees in about one week.
JJ, could you check with Hazel to make sure she got my check from early in October? I hope it made it okay, and she’s just really really busy, but I’d feel better if I knew for sure. It wasn’t huge, but every little bit helps.
1Drumtf looked like a fat old lady hobbling for cover.
2Way to keep your eyes on the prize, JJ. Tuesday night can’t come soon enough
3Thank you, AKLynn – I will check with Hazel and send you an email!
4That post-election breather sounds wonderful, JJ, and I hope you and Bubba enjoy it. I’m thinking of reading nothing but PG Wodehouse until sometime Wednesday or whenever.
5Speaking of all things local, has anyone heard about anything on a major scale being done to insure that voters in Philadelphia will be able to vote Tuesday, if the mass transit strike isn’t settled in time? I’d like to see National Guard buses deployed with UNION drivers as a nice compromise shuttling voters to the polls.
6Though I viewed the video just once, my immediate gut response to the “dangerous protestor” at drumph’s rally, was that it was astoundingly poor stagecraft, in the manner of J. O’Keefe.
7I have been noticing re the Comey news that there appear to be no women in the top echelons of the FBI. No wonder they behave like a combination of frat house and cult.
8I applaud the Secret Service’s swift action in getting Trump off the stage.
But then they brought him back.
9LynneN may I borrow from your brilliance to tweet Kellyanne Conway, if I promise to erase your fingerprints from the tweet? I’ll change “Trump” to Donnie, then she’ll know for certain it’s me. She hates it when I call him Donnie. Call him Mr Trump? I don’t think so. We had quite the twitter exchange, in which “Donnie” was the best I could offer her.
For all you Nasty Women and the men who love you: https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gen9DjSRpYE/WB6MhHSmVfI/AAAAAAABhmE/G9piYiulS5EE–6YGBMj4WXCrLNAkZG2ACLcB/s640/2%2Brob%2Brogers.gif
10I’ll keep the store running while you’re in Gslveston Oh Galveston.
11Polite Kool Marxist, go for it.
12Enjoy Galveston, nice place this time of year (low season), spent a lot of time there in many trips. Do you remember that old mini-Sea World-type park that used to be around 75th St.? Took the kids there a couple times (long before Sea World-San Antonio was built).
Did you know that Enron’s Ken Lay et ux owned several beach houses in Pirate’s Cove? And that they claimed the Texas “Homestead” property tax exemption allowance on one of them AND their River Oaks 14Ksqft place (I still have tax assessor doc proof)?
When you’re only allowed ONE homestead exemption…just one of us ‘little people’ try that, wham.
I once lived down on the West End, in Sea Isle, and worked downtown; my per diem paid for a fantastic 3Br new beach house, luvved it there for about eight months (but I’ll take the ‘old’, pre-development, pre-mass mob scene, South Padre Island any day, those were the days).
.
That TRaunch disturbance was either his own animals dogfighting, or a Rovian ‘false-flag/dirty trick op by his ‘special ops flying ratf***ers’ team.
13A few days in Galveston should be just what the doctor ordered! I will join you here on Tuesday night. Our local county election party is a half hour drive away, and I plan to be drinking LOTS of wine and bubbles that night, so I’m staying home. I can’t afford a DUI (or worse)! I’ll be happy to celebrate with my sweetheart and Buddy, and my cyber community. See ya Tuesday afternoon/evening…my partying should begin about the time the east coast polls close. I have my check list of states and electoral votes ready!!!!
14The guy with the sign says he got beaten pretty bad by Drumpf’s thugs.
If these pansies are that afraid of a little gun, why do they advocate everyone carry them?
15e platypus, guns are for *them* to carry, not for other people.
16A little off topic, but I thought I’d report on voting from the West Coast. Late September I moved from California to Oregon. (Voted by mail in Calif for the past decade-plus.) Went to USPS.com to forward mail. Linked to voter registration. Mailed ballot a couple days ago – Oregon is 100% vote-by-mail. Just checked county election office web site. They received my ballot. Signed up to be notified by text or email when my ballot counted. Can also look it up on-line.
17Like I told my bff, Trump was suddenly not in control. I would love to know how he felt to be physically forced to do something he did not ask for. It happened fast but I think one of the SS guys was forcing Trump’s head down. This forced him into a cringing position. Y’all see what I mean?
18George Rothert, that’s democracy!
That’s what we do in a democracy. Found all the snacilbupeR gnashing of teeth over the NV polls staying open to allow those in line to vote to be very anti-democratic. Efforts to suppress the vote are heart breaking and undemocratic. Targeting specific people to prevent their vote is straight up evil.
Courts should impose the “Oregon model” on those states found guilty of suppressing the vote.
19Dang it, Rhea- I wish you weren’t so logical all the time.
According to video, Drumpf may have sicced his followers on this guy. Russia sez Drumpf returned shortly because he has balls of steel. Sorry Mama and anyone else who may be offended by the word “balls” 🙂
20What??? There’s some sort of election coming up??
Why isn’t this in the news????
21maggie, I saw an epic fail by the Secret Service. Then again, anything less than having hit him like a tackling dummy, then covering him with bodies like a loose ball would not have pleased me. No floor burns, no bruises? I call foul on the ‘threat’ to Donnie.
22My number one son found himself embroiled in a civil suit a few years back in a Bexar County district court and I so accompanied him on the drive to SA. Who should we meet there in the Bexar County court house? None other than Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez who had taken a day off to accompany a relative to court. We were able to talk, not talk shop, but talk for nearly five hours. I learned that Sheriff Valdez is intelligent, quiet, confident, and a hoot with whom to visit. I second the nomination to FBI Director in the Clinton 45 administration.
23Howz this for firsts- The first Black Potus first daughter casts first vote for first female Potus?
24Isn’t Sheriff Valdez the one who spoke at the Democratic convention? I was impressed. Lupe for FBI! (Ole Jedgar [Think Lily Tomlin as Ernestine, phone operator.] would roll over in his grave, then have to change his pink panties.)
25And I though that FBI agents were like Scully and Mulder !
26The big scare that got Trump hustled offstage was a guy holding up a sign that said “Republicans against Trump.” People around him started beating, kicking, and choking him, and somebody yelled Gun, which wasn’t true. Interview with the sign guy:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/nov/06/trump-protester-i-was-beaten-for-holding-a-republicans-against-trump-sign
27The beginning of the video shows Trump at the podium shading his eyes from the bright lights so he could see the ruckus happening right in front of him. He looks calm and unconcerned. Then the USSS guy comes in to lead him off stage. Trump’s body language suggests he is confused by this action. After a couple steps the USSS guy tells him to duck down which he does as they exit, stage left.
That’s what I saw. The crowd didn’t scatter. They had to be waived back to clear the area. Gun? I don’t believe that was said at all. All fabrication — reality show drama done badly.
And BTW, his “crowd” was less than 1,000 in just one part of what appeared to be a cavernous convention center. Not an impressive sight when the cameras pulled back. The only thing that was “assassinated” that night was Trump’s last tiny bit of integrity. Assuming he any had to begin with.
28Thank you, JJ, for your work on our behalf. Enjoy your well-earned, self-indulgent stay in Galveston. Tell Susan we love her, too. And keep your hands off our sheriff. We need her.
29Sandridge,
30That old mini-Sea World-type park that used to be around 75th St. was called Sea-Arama. My high school choir from Alief HS used to go there every year to compete in the Sea-Arama Music Festival, and of course spend the day at the park. Good times.
“Assuming he any had to begin with.”
No.
31Susan will bring you breakfast in bed?
32Yo Lupe, give em hell!
Will never forget the Watermellons I got from Galveston.
33Captain Dan, they’re more like the things Scully and Mulder investigated.
Remember Cigarette Smoking Man?
34@Howard,thanks, forgot “Sea-Arama” name, it was a neat place.
35@LynnN#9- Yeah the service’s second mistake, but those boys take their job seriously. The FIbbies may have had a file on John Winston Lennon but unfortunately, it didn’t keep him alive, they had the file on the wrong person. Not the first time that’s happened to the FIbbies.
