The Nice Thing About Trump

October 08, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Hey, y’all, Trump did something nice to us – he separated the men from the boys.

Mike Pence said he is “offended” by Trump’s comments and he’s not going to the big Paul Ryan event, but an hour after the story broke …

Pence suggested that if Trump is elected to the presidency, “we’ll have a president who respects all of the American people.”

He continued in his praise of the mogul, pitching the crowd that said this election is “about maintaining the highest level of integrity in the highest office of the land.”

Pence called Trump a “winner” and a man “who never backs down.”

He went onto say this race is about “respecting our constitutional principles and our highest ideals.”

So he’s apparently not offended too much.

John McCain is hanging on, too. UPDATE: McCain out.

And Roger Ailes is still Jabba the Hut.

A guy this morning tried to convince me that Trump and Bill Clinton were the same deal. No. No, they are not. Bill Clinton had consensual sex. Donald Trump vividly boasted about criminal sexual assault. That’s not the same.

And taking the cake is Sean Hannity.

Seriously.  He said that.  Go look.

OH…… POOP! Some reputedly female blond on FOX actually tried to excuse Trump with JFK’s womanizing. Now Hannity jumps back over 2,000 years!!! Wonderful. Y’know, I got a lotta chores to do around the house. Think I’ll go buy me some slaves. What?! What’s the problem? Everybody had ’em in 1860. I’ll bet even King David had a few.

    (Yes. Snark.)

  2. Larry from Coloardo says:

Hannity doesn’t know his Bible. Wasn’t it David’s son Solaman who had 30 wives and 700 concubines?

    2
  3. Trump’s surrogates can sift through the garbage dumpster as long as they want for a crumb or two to parade before voters and claim “this still looks good!” There’s no 5 second rule for Trump. If it touches him, it’s gone bad.

    3
  4. Marcia in CO says:

I simply cannot imagine WHY any female would both defend and vote for the orange creeper, but they are standin’ by their man!
    Makes me want to vomit!

    4
  5. oh the shock how could they have known that their racist misogynist pig of a candidate is a racist misogynist pig

  6. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Does Mike Pence want to come to our house and mansplain all this to our two young sons? We’re not altogether certain how much an infant absorbs from the environment, but we are absolutely certain we don’t want Jack exposed to the words and actions of Donnie. We are absolutely certain how much toddler KJ absorbs – everything.

Donald J. Trump can wrap himself in the US Constitution and set himself on fire. But that does not make him a role model or a viable presidential candidate. Senator Ayotte, the answer to the question should have been “no.” A simple no. Party politics has taken over your life, not in a good way, if you cannot answer a simple yes or no question. Now that sorry specimen Lyin’ Ryan is demonstrating his ‘leadership’ as he realigns the deck chairs. These are your representatives, snacilbupeR. Think long and hard about those “down ballot” races.

    6
  7. Liberty Belle says:

If I had a forum like the fabulous Miss Juanita I would say to all you self righteous members of the Church of the Painful Truth, your sudden high dudgeon is pathetic. Donald Trump is the same person he was last week, last year, and the same as all the years before. You are clutching your pearls now, but you can’t fire him. He is the very candidate you have spent the last 40 years looking for. He is your voice of disrespect. Buck up – no one believes your repudiation anyway.

    7
  8. Opinionated Hussy says:

Because….’Marriage has ALWAYS been between one man and one woman.’ Hannity can kiss my southern grits.

    8
  9. JAKvirginia says:

Divorce themselves from the Donald? That’s something he’d never do! Oh… wait.

    9
  10. Linda Lester says:

I have yet to understand the disconnect between the evangelical right and the Godfather Donald–His resume comes straight out of that ilk–with this ties to unshady characters associated with the mob–his own treatment of wife number 3 knows no bounds as he encouraged those nude photo shots in the presence of his equally sleezy male buddies–Please read the Making of Donald Trump by David Johnston to learn the real dark behind this guy–what we are seeing now is pablum compared to other historical events–and if the evangelicals consider Pence Trump’s savior??–Pence has ties to the Tobacco industry (claims cigarettes don’t kill)–The party of family values? What???? I do not understand any of this and why the media is not out there presenting the facts which may be a little too late–I just hope people come to their senses at the voting booth–

    10
  11. King David also had an extremely loyal and highly skilled military general named Uriah. Uriah’s wife was Bathsheba. Uriah was out leading the troops, protecting David’s kingdom and wealth. Bathsheba took a bath on the roof of her house, as everyone did. Common custom and decency taught that one did not invade another’s privacy by looking. But David did. In a very trumpian way, he decided he was going to rape her.

David sent palace guards to kidnap Bathsheba, David did rape her, then sent her back home. Bathsheba never told Uriah because he was still in battle. However, Bathsheba became pregnant as a result of the rape. David wanted to keep his dirty little secret, so he called Uriah home from the war for a brief leave. His plot was that Uriah would sleep with Bathsheba, and thus believe that was the source of her pregnancy.

David did not reckon with the extent of Uriah’s moral code. Since his troops could not be with their wives, he wouldn’t either. That really pissed David off, so he decided to assuage his guilt and shame once and for all.

David concocted a battle scheme and ordered Uriah to carry it out. The deadly scheme, in reality a murder plot, left Uriah lethally exposed without adequate support and he was killed.

In the meantime, loathsome and shameful David had the grieving Bathsheba kidnapped from her support system of family and loved ones once again. He forced her to marry him.

trump is more like King David than dumass Hannity has a clue.

    11
  12. My favorite is the guy who said that Trump’s tape doesn’t count because he was a Democrat at the time.

    12
  13. Nothing really surprising in the audio tape – Trump being Trump. But all the (fake) outrage over the language and the vulgarity makes me laugh. This is absolutely evidence of sexual assault and general skeeviness but if you clean up the language – it’s the Republican platform.

    13
  14. Well according to the latest new even melania is disgusted. I wonder if this is just cause to divorce him. Cattle call for wife number 4.

    14
  15. So they are saying it’s OK for Trump.
So why wasn’t it OK for Clinton?
    Because he’s a Democrat?
They went after Bill Clinton for his behavior, but will not go after Trump?
    Because he’s a Republican?
    Must be.

    15

  17. My favorite response to the “locker room banter” excuse comes from Alexandra Petri in the Washington Post:

“It must be nice to have a magical room where you can go, drop your pants and pretend for a few glorious hours that women are not people.”

Also thanks to all the men whose comments I’ve read saying that they’ve been in locker rooms or worked construction jobs and they have NEVER heard another man talk about women that way.

“Pence suggested that if Trump is elected to the presidency, ‘we’ll have a president who respects all of the American people.'” If lightning struck people for lying, Pence would be a little spot of greasy ashes next to the bigger spot of greasy ashes that he’s trying to excuse.

    17
  18. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Rhea, one is not likely to encounter dufii like Donnie in a locker room (exercise is for women), the military (duty and taxes are for chumps), or a construction site (what, me labor). Should one of them enter any of those premises espousing Donnie drivel, I’d expect his name to be Stubby or Hook commemorating where his offending hand once was before it was properly removed by a lady. However, the work place is another issue; evidence Roger Ailes, Cosby, et al. Workplace or work related violence against women is still highly problematic, as are lower wages and other indignities. All those snacilbupeR now lightly denouncing Donnie need to head back to Dee Cee and write some legislation protecting womens’ rights before they have any credibility. Pence needs to trot on back to Indiana to take those Planned Parenthood and LGBTQA planks out of his eye/record.

    18
  19. Pence is worse than Drumpf. What a dipsh%t. Would he want one of his daughters going with Don the Con? Well as long as Don the Con groped them in Jesus name. Like Pat Roberts. Thinks the holy spirit go’s up your nose as white power.
They pray to the great GOD dollar and that’s all.

    19
  20. And we’re off again…. Trump was on the Howard Stern show plenty of times, and he said some things then too:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/more-trump-tapes-surface-with-crude-sex-remarks/2016/10/08/7129cea2-8d92-11e6-bff0-d53f592f176e_story.html

Least surprising remark: he “couldn’t care less” if the woman was satisfied. I couldn’t care less if he caught fire and burned to the ground. (Lie– I’d be happier.)

    20
  21. OK…

Maybe this is time to go above and beyond. How can we use this to somehow address rape-culture itself.

I am certain that Drumpf never intended to be the signature moment when “locker room talk” and aggressive misogyny, but here it is. The tough part will be to NOT rub their noses in it, but rather to establish a bulwark against the ongoing “anti-politically correct” slime. Don’t know how to work it, but we HAVE to protect ourselves from this garbage.

    21
  22. Why can’t the GOP fire Trump for being over weight?
He is a fatty, may be he should work out.

    22
  23. To every sing commenter above, +1

To any nacilbupeR or Hair Drumpf supporter:

In particular, Hair Drumpf is the desirable nacilbupeR candidate since 1960. Since 2008 he IS the heart of the Tea Party co-opted nacilbupeR Party. The least nacilbupeR people could do is OWN Hair Drumpf. He is you and he is yours.

    23
  24. Old Quaker says:

Question: who leaked the tape and video at this propitious time? Might it have been Billy Bush himself? He is the first cousin of Jeb and Geo W and nephew of GHWB. Maybe the Bush clan decided it was time to sink the Trumpster. Just messing with this thought.

    24
  25. JAKvirginia says:

Debbo: Thank you for that terse and excellent synopsis on King David. You might email that to Hannity. His Bible references are a little, um, thin?

    25
  26. JAK, thank you. I think all Hannity’s knowledge is a little thin. But that’s how half wits are. (My apologies to half wits everywhere.)

    26
  27. Bravo to Rhea:

“Also thanks to all the men whose comments I’ve read saying that they’ve been in locker rooms or worked construction jobs and they have NEVER heard another man talk about women that way.”

I’ve been mightily annoyed at all the folks appearing on cable who claim they’ve never heard men talk like Trump did. First I heard the smarmy–oops, saintly Jason Chaffetz on CNN (shortly before Trump’s video was released) hiding behind his 15-year-old daughter as he un-endorsed Trump because Trump had crossed some line. I’m sure his daughter, like mine, heard a lot worse than Trump in middle school (or junior high, whatever it is in Utah). Chaffetz said he was on his college’s football team and no one in the locker room, the little angels, ever talked like Trump.

I also suspect that this episode won’t bring Trump down. Back in the 1980s, if I remember correctly, there was a big story about a scandal in one or more Texas high schools, where boys were playing a game in which they kept score of how many different girls they had sex with. At the time the story broke nationally, I was not surprised that the boys’ fathers defended them, but I was surprised that some of the mothers also defended them.

    27
  28. Joe Biden has it right. Trump admitted to sexual assault, whether charges were filed or not. He is a predator, should be prosecuted, serve time and go on the sexual predator’s list for the rest of his unnatural life

    28
  29. Kudos, to those who brought us this October surprise, though I have to say , I’m not crazy about the GOP method of vetting as all this dirt was in the public domaign.

    29
  30. One of the comments on Twitter: “Trump may be the face of a rapist but Mike Pence is every judge who made sure he got away with it.”

    30
  31. Sandridge says:

Just saw a video clip of POS Donald Trump’s no-pology. for the first time.
Has anyone else noticed that he has a slight “tell” when he’s lying? Watch his shoulders. they show a small movement each time he lies, distorts, or misleads (along with eye movements).
Trump knows exactly what he is saying at all times (and situations), and always attempts to be in control.
But events may now be spiraling out of his reach, the 50% hard-core Repub RWNJ’s will not abandon his sorry ass, but the slightly saner 40% might begin to think of altering their vote.

Haven’t seen Kellyanne Conway, how many T-team defections or firings next week?

    31
  32. Tim Pawlenty was snacilbupeR governor of Minnesota from 2002-2010. He left with the budget a shambles, typical snacilbupeR M.O. However, I do enjoy his comment about the orange-atang: “unsound, uninformed, unhinged and unfit to be president of the United States.”

    32
  33. In addition, the Minneapolis Star Tribune criticizes Ryan and other snacilbupeR who are being weasely about the orange-atang. The Strib editorial board is calling for the orange-atang to drop out. The entire editorial is here:

  34. slipstream says:

David was no slacker. He had 17 sons (or possibly 19; the lists vary) by 8 wives and, um, a few close acquaintances. It’s good to be king.

For David’s son Solomon, the Bible gave up counting and just gave estimates: 700 wives and 300 concubines.

    34
  35. charles r. phillips says:

I expect the most fun thing about this episode of our continuing story will be watching the RNC decide how to separate Trump from the ticket without voiding the ticket on 50 state ballots altogether. it’s too damn late to change in most states, and any attempt will disrupt the down ballot races.

Anyone know a cheap source of microwave popcorn? I’ll need at least a pallet load for this debacle.

    35
  36. Sandridge says:

    Stuff’s moving damned FAST.
Pence has gone into hiding, rats are jumping ship*, and some very large, unprecedented news:
Reince P. and the RNC are supposedly diverting all 2016 campaign funds and expenditures AWAY from any Trump operations, to all downballot candidates and ops.
Since Donnie the Molester has raised very little campaign scratch himself (much self-funded), and has almost no ground game campaign operations in any states, his candidacy may be fatally moot by tomorrow’s debate time with Hillary.
The debate should be rly rly ‘interesting’…Dr. HRC (Surgeon) should scalpel tRump up and down and all around (esp. those vaunted, shriveled sick lil ‘nads, sans anesthesia).
    .
*(this may offend some, I have mended my ways since. I no longer even hunt game, haven’t for decades. Do fish sometimes though.)
When a kid, rats were sometimes a problem in the area (both city & canal/cane rats). There were (adult) control efforts from time to time, rats are serious pests.
There were places near canals and creeks where ag farmers would dump produce sometimes, making things worse. Especially, watermelon were rat favs. The rats would concentrate in such places. We would arm ourselves with .22’s and shotguns and then undertake a semi-mil op rat ambush, slaughtering dozens at a time.

Figurative point is that the Reps are now majorly off balance, distracted; they will try to yard up and hide from this Donnie the Predator clusterfork, a good time to hit them with the max effort up and down the line.
Don’t check fire until the Senate and House are majority “D”. This T-core meltdown needs to be taken advantage of 100%, hoping they don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of long-awaited victory this time.

As far as Trump, he may have a very hard time paying off his Russian, et al., lenders after this. They don’t play around, what will it be: a dash of polonium 210, a splash of anthrax, a SAM on the Trump 757, experimental virii…something in fur?

    36
  37. Caribou Barbie has weighed in. Be warned. She used the adjective “wisely” in reference to herself.

  38. two crows says:

Those who are calling on Donald to step down are speaking now because a white woman who is financially well off was the target of his invective. Their current outrage would have had some weight if it had been in evidence when he said “Mexicans are rapists.” When he said, “Pig, Slob, Dog.” When he attacked a disabled reporter or a couple of gold star parents or Miss Universe or numerous others throughout the course of the past 1 1/2 years.

Now it is simply sound and fury signifying nothing.

    38
  39. Wow, I’ll bet Hannity is in trouble with the “Bible defines marriage as one man and one woman” crowd. David with 8 and his son Solomon with his 700 wives is the best rebuttal to those folks. But you never hear them bring that up… but now Hannity has. Oops.

    39
  40. CRP, I don’t know how you can fix popcorn unless you have a TV in your kitchen. I’m sitting here surfing news channels with one hand while checking my IPad with the other. Watching the Republican Party implode is something I could only dream of all my life. I do take the occasional call in case some friend has seen something I missed. I don’t want to miss anything. I thought about trying to get a few hours sleep, but then I might miss the 3:00 A.M. Twitters.

    40
  41. Interesting that there is finally some Repub outrage about Trump’s character.

And oh-so-predictable that the upsetting subject is sex because right-wingers are much more upset about sex than they are about racism, religious discrimination, blatant lies, predatory business practices, etc.

    41
  42. So really busy at work yesterday and today. And I haven’t heard much commentary. But what I Have heard seems to be missing the MOST important aspect of Donnie’s repugnant banter. Sexist. Check. Women and girls are only good for sex. Check. Wildly unfaithful to his new wife. Check. Admits to SEXUAL ASSAULT. Check. Repugnant things one and all. But why am I not hearing anyone talking about him saying that the reason he could get away with all of it is because he’s rich or powerful? We just heard him admit that he is ENTITLED to whatever he wants to do to my daughters because they’ll be too scared to speak out because of his money/power. He brags about how smart he is for not paying taxes. “Aw hell, if I could do it, I would too! He Speaks For Me!”. He craps on gold star parents. “They’re only ragheads. HSFM!” All the deplorable things that he espouses that in the days before the rise of Rush Limbaugh, would have gotten him spit on by a lot of folks who are seen at his rallies today, and think HSFM! And I ask myself, how many of these folks have daughters who are “us” and not “them”. Anyone who reads this who knows anyone involved in a campaign, please ask them if they’re looking at this. To me this more than ANYTHING else will show that Donnie does NOT speak for anyone but himself.

    42
  43. Okay, sorry about the length of the above rant. And I want to make sure everyone understands that the things in quotation marks marks are not my opinions but what I’ve heard folks say and can imagine as well. Sometimes I say that kinda thing in here and it might not always be clear that I’m appropriating other’s voices. Sandridge: If we get your figurative scenario, here’s hoping that the first order of business is re-redistricting. Just what’s actually representative of the actual populace rather than the repugnantcan monstrosity bugwhacker DeLay gave us.

    43

  45. Tilphousia says:

What the Bible thumpers forget is the Old Testament occurred thousands of years ago. Everything was different. Men had multiple wives as they could support them. Guess the fat old rethuglican farts think those were the good ole days. Well that’s just lunacy. Today is today and perhaps morbidly
Obese trump would enjoy having his teeny orange scrotum handed to him by a lady he tries to grope. Fitting response. Trump and pence are NOT MEN. Neither has the slightest idea what being a man means just as pence is not a Christian. Just as the tea party is a terrorist organization and MUST BE TREATED AS SUCH!

    45
  46. @P.P.

You’re right. If another male said that about one of the women in my life, I’d be buying up lye for an evening of Alkaline hydrolysis on the 40 wooded acres we own between San Antone and Carrizo Springs.
