Hey Santorum! Back Off! You’re Hogging All The Stupid!
Y’all, Rick Santorum is all upset about the Pope mentioning climate change.
Santorum describes himself as a “huge fan” of the pope, but on “The Dom Giordano Show” on Monday, he said “the church has gotten it wrong a few times on science, and I think that we probably are better off leaving science to the scientists and focusing on what we’re really good at, which is … theology and morality.”
See, there’s a couple of problems with that.
First, climate change is morality. Santorum believes morality is sex and not a damn thing more. I would also like to hit him over the head with the Bible because it says that God put us on the earth “to work it and keep it.”
Second, according to The Catholic Herald, the Pope is a scientist.
Jorge Bergoglio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital city, Dec. 17, 1936.
He studied and received a master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Buenos Aires, but later decided to become a Jesuit priest and studied at the Jesuit seminary of Villa Devoto.
So in the GOP clown car the really ignorant rise to the top. That’s a scientific fact.
Thanks to Lolly for the heads up.
So now he has all this respect for scientists but refuses to believe them about climate change?
1Ok Rick, the Pope can leave climate change to actual “climate” scientists as soon as you leave medicine -INCLUDING WOMEN’S MEDICINE THANK YOU- to actual medical physicians, ha got it? Dumb mother fillintheblank!! >:#
2As time goes on I find myself more and more amazed and impressed with Francis and his selection by the Church. If The Church has the ability to change to embrace the modern world…
3Three. Let’s absolutely leave Science to scientists, and get pandering ignorant politicians out of making pseudo- quasi- ignoro- statements about it. Sorry, I made up ignoro- but you get my drift.it.
4Thanks to that paragon of journalistic liberalism, Esquire magazine, via commentator Charles P Pierce, we know this of Rick Santorum: “He remains the perfect blend of smug sanctimony and greasy smarm. He’s the only guy who can talk to you about God and make you think he’s talking about the guy from HR. Rick Santorum remains a colossal dick.” Frankly I opine Charlie must count Rick as a close personal friend.
5Well is anyone surprised at what Santorum says, really. He is out of step with the catholic church on Evolution. The catholic church has no problem with teaching evolution or science in school.
6if you put all of the gop running for president in a room, they would all die…they would suck all of the oxygen out of the room..
7So now Icky Ricky feels qualified to tell the Pope what not to do.
8Watch out for lightning strikes, Holier Than Thou.
When you have that much stupid and self righteous bottled up inside of you, it’s hard not to have it escape from time to time.
9I could not possibly agree more. Leave science to the scientists. If only any GOP mouthpiece would do that once.
“So in the GOP clown car the really ignorant rise to the top.”
10Like the big chunks in the septic tank.
If such arrogance could make people explode when they say stupid stuff, I’d have to walk around wrapped in plastic.
Rick’s afraid of the Jesuits. They’re the most educated and critical thinkers of the entire Church. If he stands next to a Jesuit, his head morphs into a dunce cap, so you’ll never see him with one.
11You’ve got to hand it to Santorum, he’s making the Catholic Church look modern!
12According to the Bible, we are to provide good stewardship on over the earth. Santorum didn’t read that part or many others.
13I lot of American fundies are absolutely terrified of Jesuits. And moere than a few are leery of the Catholic Church. Maybe it’s the tiny feeling one gets when they walk St Peter’s square inside those huge bronze doors at St Peter’s only to stop in amazement at the floor, walls, ceiling… Naw, their idea of travelling is going two counties away for a snake handlers convention.

Oh, and Santorum? No Jesuits or anyone else in the Catholic Church takes the Bible literally.
15Two things that rise to the top are cream and scum.
Three guesses which Santorum is. And those guesses will be scum, scum and frothy mixture.
16Santorum can walk on water because #### floats!
17Q: Hey! Look at the GOP Clown Bus; what’s that leaking out of the tailpipe?
A: Santorum.
18Not only was the Pope trained as a scientist, he has a lot of scientists WORKING FOR HIM. And it’s not just THIS Pope, Ricky-boy! In a unbroken chain from the time that climate change became known as “a thing,” the Popes of the Catholic Church have framed it as a moral issue, affecting both our fellow men and our stewardship of the earth.
From SAINT John Paul II in his 1990 World Day of Peace Address:
“The gradual depletion of the ozone layer and the related ‘greenhouse effect’ has now reached crisis proportions as a consequence of industrial growth, massive urban concentrations and vastly increased energy needs. Industrial waste, the burning of fossil fuels, unrestricted deforestation, the use of certain types of herbicides, coolants and propellants: all of these are known to harm the atmosphere and environment. The resulting meteorological and atmospheric changes range from damage to health to the possible future submersion of low-lying lands.
“While in some cases the damage already done may well be irreversible, in many other cases it can still be halted. It is necessary, however, that the entire human
community – individuals, States and international bodies – take seriously the responsibility that is theirs.”
And from the emeritus Pope Benedict, also a message for the World Day of Peace, 2010: “Can we remain indifferent before the problems associated with such realities as climate change, desertification, the deterioration and loss of productivity in vast agricultural areas, the pollution of rivers and aquifers, the loss of biodiversity, the increase of natural catastrophes and the deforestation of equatorial and tropical regions?”
19It appears the Catholic Herald overstated Jorge Bergoglio’s scientific qualifications. He got a titulo in chemistry from a technical school, equivalent to an Associate’s degree as a chemical technician. Still more science than Slick Rick.

In addition to being a colossal dick, Rick Santorum is a gigantic moron.
21The amount of repugnants coming out to become the POTUS, even a bus is to small. I was going to say it is an Amtrak train!!!!!! But then remember that the repugnants have cut Amtrak funding, therefore the only thing left is a camels caravan is what is needed for all these clowns.

22Even if Francis doesn’t have a masters’ degree, as an Argentinian, he would have taken logic in high school. And, as a Jesuit… well…
23Yes Rick, please DO leave SCIENCE to the SCIENTISTS. How about telling that to your former colleagues in the senate and house who are so good at denying science? While you’re at it how about leaving MEDICAL decisions where they belong, between DOCTOR and PATIENT, not legislatures/corporations/insurance companies and patients?
24It has come to me that if we can have “Faith Based Education”, why isn’t there “Education Based Faith”.
25Hurray Pope! and I’m not Catholic. Morality is doing what is most important and caring for people. I’d say that includes stopping pollution and making jobs for folks who need to earn a living without destroying the earth and all that is on it.
26I’m sure Pope Francis is devastated [DEVASTATED, I TELL YOU!] that Little Rickie Santorum is no longer his “biggest fan.” I don’t know how he summons the strength to go on.
