President Obama and Grenade Launchers
The sheriff in my county is pretty much an idiot. He has a “degree” from Jerry Faldwell’s Liberty University and pretty much Peter Principled out as a constable.
He does have a military background but not any combat experience, which makes him hungry, hungry, caterpillar hungry for things that go Boom!
He talked our commissioners court into a military helicopter and a big SWAT Team mobile home, but only because he promised to give them rides in it.
So, you cannot even imagine my relief when …
The Obama administration plans to prohibit federal agencies from providing to local cops certain kinds of military equipment such as grenade launchers, high-caliber weapons and bayonets, in the wake of controversy over a “militarized” police response to unrest last summer in Ferguson, Missouri.
Imagine President Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio doing that. Hell, they’d give the police nukes.
We have more to fear from the rite-wing [or shall we refer to them as rong-wing pols?] that will escalate a neighborhood disagreement into a shoot-out at dawn.
1Too many incompetent wacko G.I Joe types running around playing war games to trust with military equipment. Whatever happened to “de-escalation”?
2Well…..look at the mess in Wacco over the weekend~YIKES
3SEE! That Kenyan is preparing to declare war on Texas after he disarms us!!
4Bayonets? Do you mean to tell me that bayonets weren’t already off the table in this country?
5That picture was in another story here just a short while back.
6Could this mean we might be able to tell the difference between a police force and a regulation army?
7If every damfool walking down the street is allowed to carry loaded guns, I guess the cops need bazookas and tanks so they can keep up. Isn’t this going in a great direction?
8them dudes shouldn’t be trusted with anything any more lethal than a sling shot.
9What the federal government really needs to distribute to local law enforcement is a bunch of indictments.
10You got a problem with gummint of the good ole boys, by the good ole boys, for the good ole boys?
11Ahhh the rules of escalation … If you use fists I use a stick. If you use a knife I use a handgun. If you use a handgun I use … well multiple choices on a continuum of escalation.
And speaking of escalation, there was a time when I talked with the quartermaster on our gun range about sabotted rounds in caliber .45 ACP and caliber 9mm. Or maybe depleted uranium or plutonium, to up the ante on users of +P and +P+ ammunition. I dont recall the final decision but I still use jacketed hollow points and OO buckshot.
12This should have happened as soon as the NYPD attacked the peaceful protesters of Occupy. Better late than never.
13What is this rank thing that police chiefs seem to be using today– some have four stars. What does that mean? I notices some also have campaign ribbons on their uniforms. What are those for– gave parking ticket–speeding ticket–dwi?
