It Sounds True

July 22, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Look, I dunno whether this is true or not since Omarosa is the source, but …

Omarosa Manigault Newman revealed in an interview with Rev. Al Sharpton that President Donald Trump has section leaders of each rally that helps urge the audience to chant and even leads them in chants. One of those so-called “section leaders” is Mike Pence’s nephew, John Pence.

So, Pence’s nephew may have been the one who started the chant.  Damn.  Omarosa also says there’s signal Trump gives to get the chants to stop and they would stop immediately.  These section leaders are like a pep squad.

And if you want this story to get weirder, I accidentally found this.  That same John Pence is engaged to Kellyanne Conway’s cousin.

Now let me put a cherry on top of this.

Coia, 24, is White House communications aide whose father is Conway’s first cousin, and Pence, 29, is a senior adviser on Trump’s campaign. Before joining Trump’s staff, Coia worked for Conway’s polling firm and interned for Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa). Pence, a graduate of Indiana University’s  Maurer School of Law, first joined the Trump campaign in August 2016.

Steve King?  She worked for Steve King?  Oh Dear Lord, do not let them reproduce.

Thanks to Scott for the heads up.

Southern Baptists

July 22, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The Southern Baptist Church was formed to support slavery disguised as religion. So, I cannot imagine why people are surprised when

A week before the convention a very popular black Southern Baptist minister from Texas, Dwight McKissic, wrote an essay condemning the white nationalism of the religious right.  This shook the leadership of the SBC to the core.  And when he showed up at the convention with a resolution condemning the behavior of the right, they tried to destroy it in committee.

He kept fighting to bring it up on the floor.  He was joined by other black ministers who decided to stand with Jesus on this matter.

“The amount of work left to do in ‘evangelical’ (who knows that means any more?) church is staggering,” tweeted Thabiti Anyabwile, a black Southern Baptist pastor who was not at the meeting. “Here’s the largest failing publicly.” He went on:

We must be clear: We live in a time when equivocating on these matters furthers the sin of racism even to violence and death. …

Any “church” that cannot denounce white supremacy without hesitancy and equivocation is a dead, Jesus denying assembly. No 2 ways about it. …

I’m done. With this Twitter spiel. With “evangelicalism.” With all the racist and indifferent nonsense that passes as “Christian.”

This is a church that waited until 2016 to ask their members to stop flying the confederate battle flag.

In the end, the resolution, with minor adjustments, passed, but only because Richard Spenser and the white nationalists praised the Southern Baptist for their first reaction to stomp it down which caused several ministers to threaten to withdraw from the SBC.

I am reminded that truth to power is a fierce warrior.

“Media Preparation”

July 22, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

In a “Beauty” exclusive to The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc., we bring you a peek into the fascinating world of Republican appearances.

Let’s start with this:  Looking the campaign finance report for the Republican National Committee, there’s this.

ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA 402 S WASHINGTON AVE  ROYAL OAK, Michigan 48067  06/21/2019 MEDIA PREPARATION 375.00

Hummmm …. Look, I know that Media Preparation from a Spa might sound odd to you.  That is, until you realize that in the World of Republican Euphemisms, Media Preparation means Hair and Make Up.

And why, you ask, Michigan?  And why, you ask, About Face Beauty Spa?

You know who else is from Michigan? RNC Chair Roona McDaniel.

But, it doesn’t stop there.

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA MI MEDIA PREPARATION 05/23/2019 $750.00

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA MI MEDIA PREPARATION 04/23/2019 $750.00

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA MI MEDIA PREPARATION 11/17/2017 $1,050.00

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA MI MEDIA PREPARATION 10/19/2017 $853.30

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA MI MEDIA PREPARATION 09/18/2017 $900.00

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ABOUT FACE BEAUTY SPA MI TRAVEL EXPENSES 07/17/2017 $500.00

I don’t want to say anything about another beautician’s work, but Honey, for $1,000 we could make you look like Sophia Loren.

Okay, maybe not. But we couldn’t do worse and we just charge $30 for a haircut. And girl, get yourself some serious hair.

In a case of once-you-look-you-can’t-stop, there’s more, way more.  So many more that I had to put it in a date file.

Here’s a peek.

Now, I don’t know if all this is just for Roona, but if it is, damn, that’s embarrassing.  And either the RNC is way overpaying for these services or Carley Pressley is bringing some bare chested firefighters holding puppies to brighten up a smile.

To be fair, we went to the DNC to see if our female candidates are demanding “media preparation.”  Only one. And Beto.

BETO FOR AMERICA MAKEUP BY PAULINA PEREZ, INC. FL MAKEUP SERVICES 06/27/2019 $385.00

MARIANNE WILLIAMSON FOR PRESIDENT KELSI ZIEMANN ARTISTRY IA HAIR & MAKEUP SERVICES 06/19/2019 $274.10

MARIANNE WILLIAMSON FOR PRESIDENT HALL, JESSICA IA HAIR & MAKEUP SERVICES 02/21/2019 $318.00

And there you are, you are all caught up on your beauty news of the week.

Mostly, this is why I warn you not to give money to the DNC because this is some of the crap it goes for.  However, if you’re a Republican, please continue to give liberally to the RNC because, be honest with yourself, you’ve got some real ugly people on your team.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

Texas, My Texas

July 21, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Heads up, kiddos!

The story says that in 2020 if Democrats win some state rep seats that were very close in 2018, we can win the Texas House and be in charge of redistricting — the only thing that has kept Republicans in control in Texas.

Here’s the deal.

Two of those seats are in my county.  Y’all remember that I came to you and flat begged for money two years ago.  Y’all paid for ballot by mail, voter registration notices for Democrats who had moved into the county from other counties but not changed their registration, and a whole mess of other grassroots programs that did not require consultants.  We had not won a county wide race in 25 years.  We won them all in 2018.  Every race where we fielded a Democrat, we won.

So, I’m asking you to start a little piggy bank.  Any money you give my PAC goes straight to the program with no consultants or overhead. Everybody here is volunteers but we know what we are doing.

Glen and I did some experimental programs that we had faith in and they worked like a fifty dollar hammer on a greased nail.  We have a couple more we want to try.  I do not want to give Republicans any of our ideas. Hell, they still have not figured out how we registered 5,082 Democrats in my mid sized county in 60 days.  So, I want to have an email program that keeps our donors up to date without letting Republicans know what we’re doing.

So, start saving because I will hit you up after the first of the year.

Just wanted you to know.

And Whose Welfare Would That Be?

July 21, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Requesting an FEC advisory opinion allows a candidate or PAC to ask the FEC for their opinion if something is legal prior to them spending or raising money in a risky way.  This opinion was requested by Trump’s former deputy White House general counsel Stefan Passantino – the lawyer in the White House General Counsel’s Office who was in charge of enforcing ethics requirements.  And I tell you this because the irony is so thick it could only be cut with a diesel powered chain saw.

Tom Price

The request for their opinion was answered.  This draft FEC advisory opinion would allow former HHS Secretary and congressman Tom PrIce (R-GA) to use his $1.7 million in excess campaign funds to create a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization in Georgia.

Of course, once the social welfare organization is created, it can do what it wants with the money except pay Price and his wife a salary but according to the draft opinion, Price could be reimbursed for expenses and we all know how that goes.

So if the social welfare organization wants to spend that money, say, opposing Stacey Abrams’ run for Governor or Senator or advocating for additional voter suppression tactics it could do that.

Guys, we’re witnessing the birth of a shady political nonprofit in a state where there have been serious allegations of election improprieties to begin with.  Plus, we’re not dealing with a guy who has always been above board about his “expenses.”  Price still owes the taxpayers $341,000 for his private travel while HHS Secretary.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.
