Deeds Not Words

Trump says he was unhappy with the chant at his rally and tried to discourage it. That’s a lie.

Speaking to reporters, Trump claimed to have attempted to stop the chant Wednesday night by resuming his speech, though he waited 12 seconds before speaking as the crowd loudly shouted the three words.
.
In the lull, Trump appeared to listen, letting the chant gain momentum, before resuming his speech, which continued with a litany of complaints against Omar and the other lawmakers.
.
Later in his remarks, Trump encouraged his audience to “tell them to leave” the US if they continue to criticize him.

He says he “felt a little bit badly” about the chant and would try to keep it from happening again.

They are only doing what he told them to do.  He’s the one who told them to go back.

Hot rumor has it that a group of high level Republicans met at Mike Pence’s house last night and told Pence that it had to stop.  If that’s true, Trump will dump Pence.

Rumor around here is that Trump may do that anyway because he wants to put Abbott on the ballot to keep Texas red.

Be social and share!

  1. Put that between two slices of bread and eat it!

  2. I think the high level GOP know they’re going to get slaughtered in 2020 at the rate Rump is stirring the sh!t.

    Good.

    2
  3. Yeah, right. The standard lie when even trump thinks he’s gone too far.
Trump may want to dump Pence; I thin he’ll find his evangelical overlords won’t let him.

Papa@2, for once I hope the “high level” GOP are correct and they are slaughtered in 2020. They deserve to be decimated for the past seventy years. There is no punishment suitable for having inflicted Donnie on us. IQ4.5 was a joke candidate until that NY meeting with Reince Priebus. What transpired there and who has a pee tape in their folder needs to see the light of day and a thorough 70% HCl rinse, if the Republicons are allowed to continue in existence.

JJ, if Trump does snarf up Abbot as running mate for 2020, would it really help him hold onto Texas? I haven’t lived in Texas since 1981 and so have no idea of what effect it would have.

Pence does not help Trump hold Indiana: those Pavlovian voters will go for whoever has (R) next to their name, even if that name is Satan Himself. Nationally Pence may help with the Evangelical nutcases, but they will vote for Trump no matter who is in the second slot.

So, where is Melanoma and her “Be Best” campaign these days? Haven’t heard a damned thing. Guess she really doesn’t care after all.

Oh, yeah, and the irony is: Omar has been a US citizen longer than Melanoma (and no whiff of cheating along the way).

Plus Melanoma’s parents got their US passports via chain migrant.

Let’s think about that a moment, shall we?

  13. With a D president, Speaker Jayapal and the “squad” holding Chair gavels and heading the DCCC and DNC when the thugs start to whine remember to tell them that they have 2 choices one – to love it or leave it – or publicly and loudly condemn all those who have said it in the past.
Any interview, statement, tv appearence or what ever should start with that and if they refuse prefuse all questions to them with “a self admitted hypocrite and liar.
Such as “I wish to ask you as a self admitted liar and hypocrite what you think of issue —-” After the answer always say “thank you for what we must assume is a dishonest answer since you are a self admitted liar and hypocrite.”
or maybe run a continual chryon underneath stating the name of the thuglican and that they are self admitted liars and hypocrites.
I know it will never happen since they have to be nice otherwise they don’t get invited to the nice parties etc. Convicted child molesters such as epstein are welcome but truth tellers are beyond the pale for “polite” society.

    George in Lee County @20,
No, the VP cannot be removed by anyone during his term of office except through an impeachment or Art25 [incapacity-type] process.

But, prior to a Prez re-election, the President, and/or the ‘Party’, is free to select a new VP candidate to run for re-election with the incumbent Prez. They [party] can even ‘primary’ either incumbent.

So yeah, tRump himself, or the Repukes, can dump Pence next year if he or they want.

I really doubt that the Repuke powers-behind-the-throne are anywhere near to doing that though. Especially as how Pence nails down the Talibangelical, theocratic, zionist wing of the batshit Party. Pence was just pandering at a CUFI confab, the core of the Rapture-Apocalypse Dominionist fanatics.
They’d all dump Comrade Donnei before St. Pence, imo.

St. Pence has a lot larger national Religio-RWNJ base than Abbott.
And I doubt that Abbott’s Hispanic ties [wife & inlaws] would play well with the base Rejingoist national ‘send-her-back’ crowd, who are 90% of the 42% Repuke base.

Not that they get the irony of Rep. Ilhan Omar being a US citizen longer than Mrs. Malaria Effing Trump.

    26
  27. @Ted in Austin #26
I was pointing out the future hypocrisy of future thuglicans when we get a D president and a Progressive run house of Reps as they will complain about where the country is headed.
I was suggesting that if any thuglican complains that they be told to love or leave and if they refuse to leave point out that they are unwilling to do what they want others to do.
In particuluar I was suggesting, fruitlessly I fear, that any media appearence by any thuglican after the 2020 election start with those thugs being asked as to why they haven’t left and if they refuse to leave be forced to repudiate all those who are embracing that form of bigotry.
label them hypocrits and liars and let no one forget ever.
No whitewashing of history as people are doing with the twits judicial coup and the war crimes they committed.
so if they refuse toleave they are hypocrites, if they refuse to repudiate those that participiated in those chants they are liars.
Put on the screen and keep it there for all the time that they are shown.

I think we need to quit taking Fat Donnie to task for saying hateful, racist things and start laughing at him. That, and laughing at those who shill for him.

    30
  31. Lunargent says:

I think that after 4 years of trashing Hillary, with absolutely no new material, the “Lock Her Up” chant has worn pretty thin, even amongst the Trombies. So Donnie decided to try out a new one. And he was really happy with it; the mindless throngs took to it right away.

But then those mean old Democrats, and Reporters, and even some of his own party, got upset about it. So Donnie did what he always does; distanced himself, lied, and blamed everybody else. He’ll have to come up with another new, hateful 3-word slogan.

He may have slipped a little this time though, by disavowing and blaming the crowd. He can throw anybody else in the world under the bus; but if he blames them, even a little, that whole Saviour mask may have slipped enough to show the cringing, self-obsessed coward behind it. It would be great if the fever broke for even a few of them.

There are cracks in the House. There are no cracks showing in the Senate yet. But I read a tweet yesterday, which I can’t locate now. Someone asked a GOP congressman when, if ever, he would oppose anything that Trump says or does. In reply, he handed over a sheet of paper with a date written on it; the day after the primary filing deadline for his state. So no heroes, for damn sure. But maybe finally a willingness not to blindly follow every vile, perverse thing that Donnie says and does. I know, it’s pathetically weak; but still better than what we have now. Some GOP lawmakers aren’t totally evil and depraved; they just can’t think of a way out without losing their careers.

    31
  32. Sandridge says:

Proof that Prez Shitbird is lying about having nothing to do with the chant of “Send Her Back”: Many of the MAGAots in his audience appeared to be holding up pre-prepared signs with that phrase on them.

No political rally, especially Trump’s or any Repuke’s, is ever spontaneous or unscripted.
All Rethug gatherings are very carefully planned and choreographed to a fare thee well. We have all heard of that, read of it. How the usually ‘invitation only’ attendees are carefully screened, made to sign ‘loyalty oaths’, advised what to do, how to behave and dress, etc.

That “Send Her Back” chant was baked into that crapfest long before it began.

SOBOTUS’s mewling about his surprise at it, and his laughable attempt to say that he tried to stop it, while he silently looked around with a shit-eating grin for 13 seconds, is beyond craven even by his standards.

At least the MSM ‘news’ programs I’ve seen yesterday and today have been calling him out on it, for a change; flat out showing the video and slamming the lying sack of shit.

    32
  33. The report I heard (on CBS who seems to not be afraid to call the orange toad out these days !!!) said daughter/wife and wife also scolded him for that chant. I could see that- daughter/wife is a converted Jew and wifey was once an illegal immigrant herself being here a shorter time.

    36
  37. Wht I have found interesting is that through their comments etc the thuglicans have admitted that they see politics as nothing more then a game/contest between two groups and ideas/policies are only important as tools to be used against the opposition.
The concept that something other then profits factor in to this concept is beyond their intellectual/emotional cognicience.
Peoples lives, the environment, national soviernty what ever are irrelevent to the acquisition, and abuse, of power.
Principles, the pursuit of the common good, policies based upon reason and science these things do not even register into the thuglican mindset.
Rather campaign contributions, enhanced rewards, and ego satisfaction or just plain bigotry and hate are the only thing that motiviates the thuglicans.
Any who surrender to this attitude, be they thugs or nominal d’s ( lipinski, cuellar etc) are betraying their oath and humanity.

    37
  38. Sandridge says:

    K @37
There you go again K…harping on the ‘party purity’ theme again: “…nominal d’s (like) cuellar” (sic)…

Whatever the flaws, Cuellar has a “D”, which counts on a level of politics [and governance] that you cannot seem to comprehend.
As my Congresscritter, I do not like him at all, I will vote for his primary opponent.
Yeah, he finally drew one, a very weak, fairly radical leftist, who will go nowhere [even though she’s also from Laredo].
But in the general election I’ll have to barf first and vote for him, assuming there even is a Rethug opponent [the R’s usually don’t bother; no Repuke, no vote on that line].

Below are the campaign financials for Mr. C and his opponent, Jessica Cisneros, it isn’t even close.
From the whole article [link at bottom], Cuellar is better funded than almost ALL Democratic candidates nationwide [in the top 5, out of 240 or so].
Besides his personal popularity lock on Laredo, where most of the people in the District are located. BTW, nearly 200 miles from me, how big is your District?

But you’re welcome to come down and help unseat him in the primary, although if you’re an Anglo you’re going to have quite a time of it…
Have you ever been around Laredo or the [border] area? Probably vastly different from your likely comfy cityscape. It’s a maximally unforgiving environment, you screw something up and you die [if you’re alone in the boonies]. Outside of Laredo and a few towns, you can’t hardly call most of the vast area of TX-28 [and nearby ones, or all S TX] even “rural”, as most think of ‘rural’.

I’ll suggest that you c’mon down and do a bunch of Laredo barrio blockwalking and visit some far apart 400pop vills [evil heheh…].
Easy, just learn a Laredo-style Spanish accent, and bring lots of water, shade, and a dust mask. Laredo is running ~105-8F+ with a heat index of ~115-120F -every- day now [ain’t much cooler in the winter]…you’ll adjust, maybe. ‘Ta ‘ueno… ;]

    .
Cuellar has ‘cash on hand’ of over $3M, to primary opponent Cisneros’ $125K [~25x]; with double the 2Q donations [$311K to $147K]:
    TX-28 Henry Cuellar(D-inc) $311 $0 $108 $3,025 $722 $0
    TX-28 Jessica Cisneros(D) $147 $0 $22
    $125 $147 $0

You don’t even want to look at Lipinski, although he has a bunch of primary foes [and has nowhere near the cash Cuellar does].

This is not “purity” But practical politics. One does not allow a snake into the tent because they claim to be a “friendly” snake.
No you do not understand the damage a faux d who continues to besmirch the d reputation by endorsing the r agenda and giving “bi-partisan cover” for the worst of the r agenda.
“Whatever the flaws, Cuellar has a “D”, which counts on a level of politics [and governance] that you cannot seem to comprehend.”
Is that what you said about phil graham in his last election as a D just before, using his position from inside the d caucus, he sabotaged any Clinton health plan and switched parties.
Or Lierman when he did everything he could to knee cap Obama’s and the D’s agenda.
Or Ben Nighthorse Campbell when he worked with your hero graham to torpedo any health care during Clinton admin.
What you don’t understand is that if a person votes thuglican more then 50% of the time they are thuglicans no matter what lies about their party that they sell.
You mention his campaign war chest how much of that is from thuglican donors helping a thuglican puppet to undercut the d’s agenda.
Or what you would have said to Harry Truman as he chased strom thurmond out of the party. After all he did, at the time, have a d after his name.
Or what you would have said to the DNC when they voted to seat real D’s instead of your type of faux ‘s led by wallace.
This is not “purity” But practical politics. One does not allow a snake into the tent because they claim to be a “friendly” snake.
You are right I do not wish to look at lipinski and as soon as he is turfed out of his seat with his, like cuellars, fraudulent claims of being a d I never will have to again.
PS Oh anybody who disagrees with your hero is a “radical leftist”? Makes one question whether you feel anything to the left of strom is a “radical leftist”.

    41
  42. K:
Don’t know where you’re at or where you’re from. But liberals from Texas are a different breed from “Yankee” liberals. We try not to eat each other’s young.
But that’s just my opinion, and I’m just as full of shit as anybody else.

    42
  43. @P.P. # 42
I have never suggested “eating the young” but rather disposing of the garbage.
Unless you consider a faux d who votes thuglican, fundraises for thuglicans against D’s, has been in office for 18 years and denigrates progressive oppenents as “radicals” as being the young?
I have held the same position against cuellar’s philosphical brother in sabatage, lipinski, from Illinois as yankee a state as texas was a traitor state so that would undercut your theory of having separate standards.
In fact one could say it is hacks like cuellar, lipinski and others ( pallone NJ) who seek the “eat the young” to preserve their power.
Seriously trash like lipinski and cuellar repeatedly undercut the D agenda, besmirch those who seek to work for the common good (thus threatening their agendas of greed) and seek to further entrench the surrender caucus in the positions of power and abuse.
    So NO
    No to the surrender caucus
No to thuglicrats seeking to kneecap progressive agenda.
No to the fear that working for something better is too risky since it will offend the established bigots.
No to trying to label all those trying to work for their constituency as “radical leftists”
No to giving thuglicans “bi-partisan” cover for their obscene agenda.
    Just NO.

As for those who would prefer to whine about purity when faced with progressives remember it has always been the “moderate d’s” who sell out when they are asked to compromise their reactionary ideology when a progressive gets the nomination.
The progressives remained loyal to bill clinton and obama, both of which have self described as “rockefeller thuglicans” they also remained loyal to hillary much as she was disliked.
It was “moderates” who voted for demented donnie in wisconsin, florida, ohio etc that gave us this disaster.
So if you have any reservations about people “eating the young” direct them at those that do, the so called “moderates”.

    jack smith,
Enjoy your time ‘in country’ down here.
Yeah, one learns where to find the best Tex-Mex food.
I’ve actually been sampling some Taco Bell stuff lately.
Because TBell has the only menu items I know of that feature the deadly “Carolina Reaper” hoooot peppers. They’ve defanged it somewhat, but still only for peeps with flameproof insides, heheh [yum].
This does not imply that Tex-Mex cuisine is even all that ‘spicy’, at least not imo. I don’t like jalapenos [so ‘verde’ sauces are repulsive to me], will never eat bell pepper, but make my ‘pico de gallo’ with various lethal hot peppers, usually homegrown pequins.

    .
“The official Guinness World Record heat level was 1,641,183 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) in 2017, according to tests conducted by Winthrop University in South Carolina. The figure is an average for the tested batch; the hottest individual pepper was measured at 2.2 million SHU.[5][6]…
    Possible medical issues
In April 2018, a case report of “thunderclap headaches” in a 34-year-old man – who was hospitalized a few days after consuming one Carolina Reaper pepper of unspecified size in a contest – included a presumptive diagnosis of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS).[12][13] With no reason to believe pepper compounds had a role in the mechanism of RCVS, other clinical interpretations, such as a stress response from eating such a hot pepper, may explain the headaches.[14]”

  47. @ Sandridge #46
Please try to stay on issues and facts.
You keep throwing the word purity around like demented donnie accuses others of “fake news” or others accusing others of being to “pc”.
Just saying it does not make it true or accurate. Just a dodge to avoid dealing with facts and reality.
Fact cuellar votes for the thuglican agenda more then he supports the d agenda. That makes him a de facto thuglican.
Fact phil graham, strom thurmond, ben Lighthorse and other scorpions (fable scorpion and the frog) were nominal d’s, like cuellar, and used that access/title to torpedo d’s agenda before giving away the game by flipping and admitting they are/were actually thuglicans.
These are facts not wild eyed accusations of “purity” unmoored to any reality.
As for purity it seems to be the moderates who love to chase progressives away for not being “pure” enough to surrender to the thuglican framing and agenda.
It wasn’t Progressives who deserted the party when they are needed. It is the “moderates” who prefer to whine in the minority rather then fight for their constituents. The “hippy bashing” that rahm relished so much and the attempt to kneecap progressives as busto’s has tried ( just as DWS and other rahm acolytes) is a real “purity” politics you accuse others of.
It has been a long time since I “swooned” over anybody so please just stop with the baseless assumptions.
So please the issues if you would.
ps If you had read my post you may have noticed my reference to obama as a “rockefeller thuglican” hardly a beau ideal.
