Paul Manafort got 47 months because he has an otherwise blameless life.  Yeah, other than selling out the United States to make money for himself, he’s a real saint.

Ya think the federal judge will stack ten years on that next week?

Lord, I hope so.

Meet Texas Judge Jack Robison.  Robison is a state district court judge in New Braunfels, Comal County.

I want to tell you a little story about Judge Jack.  Judge Jack was overseeing the trial of a woman charged with sex trafficking her niece. Judge Jack entered the jury room while the jury was deliberating, twice because once was not enough.

Judge Jack Robison said it was God who told him to try to get jurors to return a not-guilty verdict for a Buda woman who was accused of trafficking her teenage niece, according to the Herald-Zeitung.

“When God tells me I gotta do something, I gotta do it,” he said to the jurors, in defense of his actions.

They found her guilty anyway and sentenced her to 25 years.

The judge blamed his statements on a medical condition and provided letters to the commission that said he was affected by “a temporary, episodic medical condition referred to as a ‘delirum,'” the Express-News reported.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct issued a public (typo corrected) warning.  Wow, I bet that hurt. He’s back on the bench.

Of course, he’s a Republican.  God talks to Republican judges.  Democratic judges hear from John Marshall and Earl Warren.

This is just an update on my son Mark and Alex Jones.  They have a deposition today in Austin with Jones.

The Alex Jones lawyers filed an appeal wanting to either stop the Jones deposition scheduled for today or postpone it indefinitely.  Yesterday morning the Appeals Court unanimously voted no, and the deposition will go ahead.

As soon as that came out, Jones suddenly decided to change his lawyers in both the Connecticut and Texas cases.  Jones hired Robert Barnes and Norman Pattis.

You’d think a lawyer would know this stuff.  My son’s law firm is funding these cases in Texas because sometimes you just have to do the right thing.  And Jones got kicked off media outlets because it’s pretty clear that Jones is going to get somebody killed.  There’s no conspiracy, there is only justice.

Then there’s Norman Pattis, who has been a boon to the tin foil hat industry.  Best I can tell, this guy is all smoke and no barbecue.  He blogs earlier this year …

The Connecticut NAACP condemned me today for re-posting a photo of a group of beer cans wearing hoods and surrounding a brown beer bottle on Facebook. Ku Klux Coors, I called it. It was sent to me by someone who could not believe that Facebook censored it as violative of the site’s community standards.

He claims to be the victim of censorship.  He hasn’t learned that the right of free speech does not include the right to be taken seriously.  And he writes his own press releases calling himself “a leading American trial lawyer.”  After looking through all his press releases, I have decided that he’s ten pounds of vanity in five pound sack.

“It remains to be seen whether this sudden change in counsel is a desperate gambit or whether it’s a sign that Mr. Jones is ready to take this lawsuit seriously,” Bankston told HuffPost in a statement. “But regardless of who ultimately represents InfoWars, my clients remain focused on holding Mr. Jones accountable for his reckless and disgusting conduct.”

So the bottom line is that I dunno if Mark is taking a deposition of Jones this morning or packing up his Jeep and heading back to Houston.  I’ll let you know as soon as I know.

He’s also scheduled to take a deposition of one of Jones’ business partners tomorrow.

Remember Louisiana congressraccoon Clay Higgins?  The guy who acted the fool during the Michael Cohen hearing? And we find out his staff is dabbling in human trafficking and prostitution?

He’s back!

This morning, during a hearing on immigration, he compared the arrival of migrants at the border is kinda like D-Day.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. That’s awful but, Honey, he was just doing it to help us understand.

“Let me just put this in context for the American people,” Higgins said. “Perhaps the most famous invasion in the history of the world — D-Day — 73,000 American troops landed in the D-Day invasion. We have 76,103, according to my numbers, apprehensions along our southern border last month.”

And then he huffed himself up with tremendous pride that he remembered that a whole bunch of people landed on some damn beach with some boats and stormed the beaches.  I don’t think he realizes they came to liberate France.  And, actually, British and Canadian forces landed with us, making it 156,000 troops. It was Allied Forces, something Trump is insuring we don’t have anymore.

His summary?

“We have D-Day every month on our southern border,” he added.

No, we don’t. Nobody is coming to liberate France but I dunno, maybe they do want to liberate France and south Louisiana will do in a pinch.

Oh, this guy is gonna be fun, y’all.

We all know that Trump paid Michael Cohen to threaten his schools over release of his grades.

I know this is going to come as a shocked to you, but Trump may have been lying about being one of the “top students,” and making excellent grades which proves he’s smart.

The Washington Post writes that the New York Military Academy, where Trump went to high school, was asked to “turn over” Trump’s transcript to his friends. They refused, but they did move it to “a more secure location” on campus.

And there’s more. In 2015, while Trump was a candidate, the school was sold in a bankruptcy sale.  The buyer was a non profit group of Chinese businessmen lead by Vincent Mo and SouFun Holdings.

Now, I’m just saying that it’s entirely possible that China’s intelligence agencies may have seen Trump’s academic record but we haven’t.
