Kicking Off The Day

November 14, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Our long time friend Deb T is in the hospital with the flu.  She’s sick enough to be in the hospital but well enough to play on the internet machine.

First she wanted me to see this:

That just makes me proud to be a Democrat.  Democrats have some room for improvement in the gender department but poor Republicans have a long road to go with a short time to get there.

And, next, it turns out that the “young intern” who participated in the Jim Acosta event ain’t so young nor is she an intern.

I mean, if you can’t trust the Trump White House, who can you trust?

And last but holy crap certainly not least is Don Blankenship, the CEO of Massey Coal Company who killed 29 miners by blatantly violating the Mine Safety Act.  He spent a year in prison and was fined $250,000.  After that, he decided he was just perfect for politics and ran for Senate from West Virginia. He lost.

Burger, who was finally caught in sent to prison at 89 years old, was killed by another mobster within days of arriving.  Yeah, gotta be a deep state thing.

Everybody wish Deb T well!

Madam Swami Juanita and Her Tea Leaves

November 13, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, so everybody is in the tea reading business today, so I’ll jump in.

Face it, Trump’s behavior has been particularly weird. No show at Veterans Day events?  He loves that stuff because he thinks they’ll give him a surprise parade.

Then a friend of a friend (Bruce Lindner) laid this out beautifully.

• Fox News’ Twitter feed is usually very prolific. They tend to tweet maybe 20-25 tweets per day. Until last Thursday. Not a single tweet in 5 days from Mr. Murdoch’s evil empire.
.
• The same with Wikileaks. No tweets in 5 days.
.
• Matt Drudge, Republican gossipmonger extraordinaire, has scrubbed his entire Twitter page. It’s a blank canvas this morning… as blank as Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ dance card.
.
• Jerome Corsi, co-architect of the Swift Boat Vets for “Truth,” and chief birther during the early Obama years, announced yesterday that he expects Robert Mueller to indict him. His BFF and fellow nutcase, Roger Stone, has gone unusually silent.
.
• Michael Cohen, Trump’s one-time “fixer” lawyer, took the train into Washington yesterday accompanied by his lawyer. They went directly to the Special Counsel’s Office, where one assumes, they weren’t there to discuss sports and the weather.

And I don’t put much faith in Daily Kos, but they have other warning signs.

I know we’ve been disappointed before when there were warning signs. Oh Lord, I know that.

I don’t run the teevee during the day because it makes me crazy but I’m keeping the remote close at hand.

Deep Breaths and Prepare Yourself

It’s real.  It’s really real.

By the way, it’s made in China, of damn course.

And who is buying this?  This guy —

Breaking News in Houston

November 12, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

There’s this today:

A year ago, a lawsuit against Woodfill’s law partner, former state representative and raging anti-gay crusader Paul Pressler, was dismissed.  It involved child molestation.

Folks in the know are guessing this is some sort of stealing money deal.  Woodfill is a giant supporter of Ted Cruz.

This might be fun.

Thanks to Kyle for the heads up.

It’s Love, Y’all, It’s Sweet Love

Have you ever seen Trump smile at anything that way?  His honey has arrived.

You’d think he had a journalist sacrificed this morning in Trump’s honor.

Thanks to M Gray for the heads up.

The Peanut Gallery

November 12, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I’m over here in the peanut gallery and I know that. But I’m wondering if I’m alone on this one issue.

I am all for the Democratic House investigating Trump. Good idea. Needs doing.

But first, above all, we have got to address health care. We have got to send a health care bill (and that includes prescription drug prices) to the senate every damn day until they finally give in or don’t have any answers left. That has to be first and that has to be constant. We’ve got to personalize it. We have to run ads on teevee. We need billboards that say insurance and drug companies are ripping you off, and dammit, for profit hospitals ain’t helping the situation any at all.

Democrats were elected to get something done. If we spend the next two years doing nothing but fighting Trump and then exchange him for something even worse, then shame on us in 2020.
