Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Typos are so easy to do. And then there is spell check. It has a mind of its own. Question: how long did it take for someone to spot the boo-boo? And why wasn’t it corrected? Those questions are actually more critical than making the typo in the first place. They show something else that isn’t in place.
1Snicker.
2Do you suppose it was a minor act of passive- aggressive rebellion?
3Off-topic, but I have a nice example of passive-aggressive rebellion for you. Two of my clients adopted a baby girl from China. They have a letter from the White House, framed on their wall, which says something like “I congratulate you on forming a family and I’m sure you will raise your new child with fine American values” I can’t remember what all “Laura joins me in my good wishes to your family, (signed) George W. Bush.” The point is that it’s addressed at the top to Ms Carol X and Ms Janet Y. Somebody in that office had to notice.
4Maggie – typos are all too easy but you can’t blame spell-check for this one. S-c might substitute a different word for one the poster may have intended, but there’s no way it would take a correctly spelled word & MIS-SPELL it for them.
This is a situation where an incompetent staffer (or maybe the Asterisk-in-Thief?) didn’t bother to USE spell-check. As for how long it took for “someone to spot the boo-boo? I’d guess almost instantly – out in the real world. The far better question is why it wasn’t corrected.
Stupid is as stupid does. Treason is as treason does. These things may be related.
5Sheesh. Everybody knows it is spelled “ejicatun.”
6There’s a “Typo-dong missile” joke in here somewhere, screaming to get out.
7I have to fight with my phone all the time about spelling. It also leaves out words sometimes. Idly I wonder, WHY?
I disabled spell check on the laptop. It was a constant nuisance.
And my thought for the day is
IMPEACH. IMPEACH. IMPEACH. We have proof all over the place. IMPEACH before it’s too late.
8Well, not as bad as part of “Trump’s Ramada” headed in the wrong direction!! (Not surprised about that either.)
