You Go, North Carolina!
You know how your state has sunk to the depths of Trumperism? Your friends from Texas start sending sympathy cards. And thank you notes for taking off the pressure.
The official North Carolina Republican State Party tweeted angrily last night —
“.@timkaine wears a Honduras flag pin on his jacket but no American flag. Shameful.”
It took about 30 seconds for everybody to point out to them that the pin is a Blue Star Service pin for his son, who is a deployed Marine.
The North Carolina GOP took down the tweet. You know, like it never happened. Because you can make stuff disappear on social media.
Oops.
Now, you’d think that the state with the largest military base in the country would know what a Blue Star Service pin is. That’s what you’d think. And you’d be wrong.

10Hmm. I do believe the tweeter pointed out the difference between him/herself and me in one short, semi-cogent sentence. When someone stands up to speak, my first response is to listen to what s/he has to say, the second is to evaluate it and think about it. Checking out the jewelry being sported on the lapel comes far down the list.
Now if it was a swastika, I imagine I would notice. Are you listening David Duke? Donald Trump?

12Although some in the GOP keep showing their ignorance, they never learn from it. Researching and/or checking something before taking to social media doesn’t seem to be important to them. My suggestion is that whoever tweeted that have his/her eyes checked by a certified ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
13They didn’t even look at the *real* flag of Honduras…or ask a friend in the military (surely the guy knows *someone* in the military) what the pin was.
Speaking as a veteran, I want the North Carolina Republican Party to LICK MY MARINE VETERAN BOOTS as well as Tim Kaine’s boots, and his son’s boots when they come back dirty. I have multiple pairs of boots they can and should be required to lick clean and polish. Cowboy boots, riding boots for non-cowboy type riding, muck boots…

15Please, I grew up in NC, was fairly progressive, so sad it’s been trashed. In USA, Economy, military service, etc all better under Dems. HRC wore white in honor of suffragettes. As others have said F$@&*#k those who criticized her for not baking cookies! Don’t throw away your vote on third part/protest vote. Live in VA and Tim Kaine is a good man and fine politician.
