You know how your state has sunk to the depths of Trumperism?  Your friends from Texas start sending sympathy cards.  And thank you notes for taking off the pressure.

The official North Carolina Republican State Party tweeted angrily last night —

“.@timkaine wears a Honduras flag pin on his jacket but no American flag. Shameful.”

It took about 30 seconds for everybody to point out to them that the pin is a Blue Star Service pin for his son, who is a deployed Marine.

The North Carolina GOP took down the tweet.  You know, like it never happened.  Because you can make stuff disappear on social media.

Oops.

Now, you’d think that the state with the largest military base in the country would know what a Blue Star Service pin is.  That’s what you’d think.  And you’d be wrong.
